shooter on the va tech campus

I've been hearing reports that he did leave a note. But I don't think it's contents have been released just yet.

I'm just gonna wait a week to get all the info on the details. Waiting for news to trickle down is torture.

They did a story last night on one of the survivors of Columbine and where is he now and they say a year and a half afterwards, him and his brother were watching a movie, where a scene triggered a flashback and he snapped on his brother.

I just hope that everyone involved gets some sort of long term conseling so they don't hurt themselves or others.

the scariest part is the reasoning for not informing students right away. Direct quote:

Student Billy Bason, 18, said: "I think the university has blood on their hands because of their lack of action after the first incident."

But university president Charles Steger defended his staff, saying they "had no reason to suspect any other incident was going to occur".

So finding several corpses in a dorm without any idea of the whereabouts of the shooter is not cause for concern enough to raise the alarm?

I'm sorry but the university are equally responsible for this massacre

God bless the internet...

why do i have a feeling this is from myspace? bastards :down

They probably should have had a lockdown in each building.

I think only 30% of the students actually live there. So where could the other 70% go? Home?

What would have happened if they had all the students going from building to building and having this guy walking around?

The Daily Mail reports that the woman killed in the first shooting was Emily Hilscher, who lived on the fourth floor of Ambler Johnston dormitory next door to the RA, Ryan Clark. Clark was also killed in the first shooting. They’re speculating that Cho was either involved with her or stalking her.

Seems like this is the girl.. that he was involved with or stalked

its very sad this happend, the kid looks like he had some problems that he couldnt get over. It sad how someone can do somthing like this. he might have had some mental issues... He looks stressed in that picture of him

An Israeli lecturer who died in the massacre at a U.S. university saved the lives of several students by blocking the doorway of his classroom from the approaching gunman before he was fatally shot, his son said Tuesday.

Students of Liviu Librescu, 76, a holocaust survivor who was an engineering science and mathematics lecturer at Virginia Tech for 20 years, sent e-mails to his wife, Marlena, telling of how he blocked the gunman's way and saved their lives, said the son, Joe.

"My father blocked the doorway with his body and asked the students to flee," Joe Librescu said in a telephone interview from his home outside of Tel Aviv. "Students started opening windows and jumping out."

Now HE is a real hero... It's a shame he had to go out this way after surviving through the effin' Holocaust.

R.I.P.

Maybe he figured "I've lived long enough. Now its someone else's turn..."

Thats how I'd like to go down, if it ever came down to it.

I'm curious about his suicide letter.

I think there's more to this than "guy gets dumped and shoots 50 ppl".

that guy should get some kind of honor, name a building a dept or something after a man being heroic as this guy

Same here... But I still find it sad that he had to go out this way after surviving the Holocaust.

Either way... I'm with you in the sense that I'd rather go out that same way than any other way.

he was a depressed nerd who has no friends, then kills everyone at school.... this would be made into a movie soon... :(

It wasn't several bodies, the original report was one body, the report of two bodies was after the other shooting. Even if it was two, would you really think someone would kill two people in one place then walk halfway across campus shoot another 30 random people two hours later? Why didn't this guy shoot more in the dorm? People were probably just getting up and ready for class, but he left, then two hours later started the real rampage.

I'd back something like that. If nothing else, plant a garden in his honour and give him a monument, although I guess after something like this they'll probably build him a memorial garden anyways.

Says he was an English major, but he shot up an engineering class. Before, I was under the impression that he shot up one of his own classes(or at least one for his major). This makes it sound like the 2nd set of shootings were either random as hell, or have some hidden motive.
