Terrible news. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the victims and the other people in the school during the shooting.

This is a tragedy, but let's not act like spree shootings are a more immediate or all-encompassing threat than car accidents, cancer or heart disease. Your chances of being caught in a crazed gunman's sights are statistically zilch.

Yes and no. The media's only interested if there's some sensational angle they can play, like one race shooting another race (see "Hoodie" thread). They don't care when it's one race shooting the same race. For example, I've also seen other small spree shootings the past couple years get underreported when it's just a white-trash dude killing 5 or 6 other white people at a Church or trailer-park or wherever in the South. The media looked at this story and concluded there's nothing juicy they can really exploit about it, aside from the apparent surface tragedy. They have other things to cover, like Treyvon Martin still being dead.

This is also pretty cut and dry. Dude did it and dude got caught. Aside from delving into his possible motivation, there's not much else to cover.

If it was a white guy killing 7 Asians, it would receive the same level of coverage, even if the guy was a full fledged KKK member or something. If it was a black guy killing 7 Asians, they'd give equal time to his various left-wing apologists, and there would be a liberal Hollywood campaign to save him from death row (a la Tookie Williams).

Asian-Americans rank less than animals in the liberal media. If a guy went into the ASPCA and killed 7 dogs, this would get more coverage than this.
