Should be in the New 52?

Probably fell under streamlining. I bet there are only so many titles they wanted to have comprising the Bat line, and why bother giving a series to Tim when you could give one to Batwing instead?
I think your second sentence totally invalidated your first sentence. :o

Captain Marvel by Sholly Fisch that embraces all the craziness and lighthearted aspects of the characters....that's never going to happen is it?

Sarcasm achieved. :o

31 points for Griffendor! :awesome:

The real JLA with no armor and Martian Manhunter back as a founding member...

Amen to that.......and I also vote for Captain Marvel and Power Girl. I'm actually worried about what the New Gods may end up being. As is, Superman redesign absolutely sucks; do not like Martian Manhunter's redo either. Batman, Aquaman and Green Lantern however are better than ever (high hopes for Flash too.)
Struggling to remain hopefully optimistic and open-minded.

Powergirl should have two books one for each... ah never mind... Powergirl

Isn't it, though? Obviously not the same, but I thought Batman Inc. was still around in some ways, hence Batwing gracing us with his existence.

It boggles my mind that they redesigned the Martian Manhunter to look worse after just redesigning him for Brightest Day with a pretty solid look.

I would love it if they did a series of year ones for Batman and Robin or something that can explain and fix the timeline.

That seems to be exactly what they don't want to do. I think they tried to manage the continuity and failed miserably, so they've basically given up on that and are embracing a more fluid, imprecise model that will benefit the larger audience at the expense of die-hard fans' brains imploding due to inconsistencies. The publishers' eyes seem to be shifting outward toward drawing in new readers over catering to us longtime ones.

Or just left things alone. Only a couple of characters have been genuinely improved by the reboot, and those few reboots could've easily been preserved on their own.

No matter what stays canon the only things that matter are the dc comics after the new 52, even if Batman and GL's stories remain unaltered the events around them, minor character and other little details were changed a lot so things didn't exactly happen as in the original comics.

A 100% reboot would have made things simpler and more aproachable

I still say there should have been a continuity reboot at all.

Dc should've just done a reboot of all of their numberings, plus made sure that every title was no reader friendly, and - essentially - just discontinued any old story lines and started fresh with new storylines, character arcs, etc.

Much like a pre-op transsexual, it would've been the best of both worlds and would've pleased nearly everyone.

Well, I heard DC gave the writers creative control. "What stories did they want to tell with these characters?" And many decided that they didn't have to reboot the character to tell these stories, but they did have that option.
But if DC did reboot the whole thing you know a lot of fans would have been up in arms, me included, because they would have basically said all the comics many of you have ever bought don't matter. Especially the epic stories from GL and Batman.

Batman Beyond is coming back.

Freud lulz. :funny:

You mean like they did for the ones you don't care about? I figure if you're gonna piss some people off, you might as well piss em all off. :o

I am still kind of pissed that out of the big 3 Superman was the only one who got a full reboot. To be honest I still do not see why they needed to reboot Superman when all the stories they have told could have still been told with him and Lois still married. As a long time Superman fan I feel they should have rebooted the whole DCU. Had Batman just starting out again, made Dick Grayson back into Robin, Hall first getting the ring, etc. I mean you could have kept Batwoman, even Teen Titans the same (with changing Tim to Dick) as well as all the other books. But there's no use in complaining about this stuff and since I for the most part only pick up the Superman and Batman books I really don't notice it too much. I just gets annoying here and there when they start to mention dates.

I just don't get how Blackest Night, Identity Crisis,The Sinestro Corps War, The Death and Return of Superman, Final Crisis or a version of Final Crisis that would make Batman/Bruce Wayne disappear and start Batman Inc, as well as all the versions of Teen Titans, etc are supposed to still be intact and suppose to have all happen in a 5 year span.

They couldnt have each Bat sidekick have his own book so they kind of made the Titans Tim's book. Batwing didnt take RR's place, Nightwing did, although to be fair, both books are better than RR ever was.

I posted this in another thread
I thought, in Superman comics, they could show that the reason Clark and Lois don't date isn't because she dislikes him or anything, its because Clark is too busy being Superman. He uses Clark more as a cover, to get close to the Daily Planet, the heart of Metropolis, and the media, but after work he is Superman (and sometimes even during work). So they just don't really spend any time together at first.
This, I guess, would go into the Grant Morrison Action Comics stories after Clark starts working at the Daily Planet with Lois but before he becomes the Superman we all know.
Then, in Superman comics, he has sort of slowed down to allow himself to have a normal life. Lois has a boyfriend now though, but Clark has learned to allows himself to have a life as a mortal outside of being Superman.

Another idea I had came from reading George Perez's Superman #1, they are sort of worried about Lois and Clark being in the newspaper business because its sort of dying. So what do they do? Lois became an executive producer or something, which I love. But my idea would have her being like an Anderson Cooper journalist. She could still write for the Daily Planet even, but her new job would have her going out into the field and reporting from the front line to a camera. She would go to disaster zones, super battles, war zones, etc.
As for Clark? I think he wouldn't want to be on camera at all since he is Superman, just wouldn't fit anyway. But I think he could be the reporter behind the scenes who goes out and finds information for the others on camera, while Lois would want to do this all herself he would do it for any on screen story being reported that needed him.
I still like Clark becoming this type of research guy for the News. I would love to see this used in Perez's Superman, while Lois is an Producer of a News show Clark finds the stories and facts for them to report.
I mean Jimmy is now a camera man, video taping stuff, making viral videos. Lois is now a TV exec. Clark could be part of all that too, but I see him being more a traditional reporter who finds the stories.

Since this is the New 52, should characters age? I know they want to keep dates vague and keep characters ageless, but do you think they should allow them to age?
