Should FOX stop making Marvel movies?

Yeah because the X-Men movies are mediocre

Fox should stop making movies and sell all their best properties - X-Men, Alien, Predator, etc - to studios that don´t have pieces of subhuman excrement like Tom Rothman in charge.

FOX sucks...and I cant wait til Marvel goes to Paramount...If I was in charge though Id give Marvel to Universal or Sony...but Paramounts fine too.

The Mediocracy is bad. These stories are so much better than what FOX makes them out to be.What Im most upset about is Fantastic Four...It couldve been a huge film and pull in Spidey numbers...but noooo...they had to screw it up too.Lets hope Iron man doesnt land in this terrible studio's hands

I agree completely! FF shoulda been HUGE! That was the comic that started it all! And X3 shoulda (haven't seen it yet, just goin on majority opinion) been huge but from what I understand, they basically raped the Phoenix story! TRAVESTY!

This is a non-issue. Marvel is not in the business of lisencing their characters any more, so all Fox can do is keep making X-Men and F4 films, or let the rights expire.

Does anybody know if those specific franchises have a movie limit on the license ownership or is it just a time period limitation?

Fox has shown a tremendous ability to ruin potential franchises, or running franchises into the ground.

Why? I don't know.

So does that mean Silver Surfer is no longer under their keep? Oh thank God!

Fox sucks, and so does Lionsgate if they don't hurry up and give us Punisher 2.

Fox just dont give a **** how their comic book movies turned out as long as they make money, i actually hate them as a studio now and i used to think they were good. They did everything they could to **** up X-Men, but Singer came through luckily for them, but they have royally ****ed up Alien Vs Predator, Daredevil (though the DC was a saving grace), Fantastic Four, and especially X3 and League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen. I am seriously considering never going to see any of their movies ever again and that includes X3 despite being an X-Fan for 12 years.

Why would Marvel need to go to Paramount ? They have their OWN Movie Studios now. So they will be making Movies THEIR WAY not some stupid ass Studios way

I voted yes,as long as Rothman is there everything will be rushed:(

As far as I understand it, Fox has to make a sequel to each movie within a certain time frame, but there is no limit to how many times they can do so. As long as they release a sequel every 2-3 years, the rights are theirs forever. I could be wrong, but that's my understanding right now.

I'm pretty sure that the Magneto and Wolverine movies will keep X-Men in their possession, so if they want to begin a new X-Men trilogy four years from now, they probably can,

Somebody asked about Silver Surfer, and I have no idea. There are plenty of rumors that he could be in the next F4 movie, and if he is, then I guess Fox has the rights. If not, then I would assume those rights are reverting back to Marvel. Really, I wondered if Fox was in a hurry to use the Surfer before they lost his rights.

Maybe somebody who has more knowledge of this can clear it up.

The whole issue is, they need to give these films the time and care to be done right, and that's more than possible in that little 2-3 year time frame. After Spider-Man, Sony made sure everything was in place for Spider-Man 2. Fox should have done the same for X3 after X2, signing Singer and his whole team. In failing to secure Singer, they lost all the supporting elements (excluding actors) that made X2 a critical AND commercial success. That's just stupid!

I dont know if they should stop making Marvel movies, but they need to stop making bad Marvel movies.

That's the problem, that don't care if the movies are good or bad. If a character is big enough, and they market it right, they know they'll make enough to break even.

Let's see.....

Hulk sucked.
Daredevil sucked.
Electra sucked.
Fantastic Four sucked.
Punisher sucked.
Spiderman 1 & 2 awesome.
Xmen 1 average.
Xmen 2 great.
Xmen 3 wait and see.

They aren't exactly batting a 1000 are they?
I don't think the issue is the company producing the films it is just the script that needs working.

I wouldn't say Hulk sucked, it was a very well-made film technically, and had a good foundation as far as the story was concerned, but the filmmakers tried to make it deeper than it needed to be. Hulk suffered from an overdose of existetialism and philisophical musings.

Hulk, Spider-Man, and the Punisher weren't made by Fox. And Hulk, Daredevil (Director's Cut), and the Punisher rocked  Fantastic Four was decent

Yeah, I dont know ill admit Punisher and FF were pretty bad but I had fun. Its like people think every movie needs to be Citizen Kane.
