and who's "stuck" in Iraq roach.
the troops are DEPLOYED there, president Bush and his administration are STUCK there.

simple.

yes. and the "you" he was referring to was, by corrollary, BUSH. NOT our troops. the only thing you could possibly fault Kerry for was for not using Queen's english, (i.e. get "us" stuck in iraq). But he was speaking colloquially and what he meant was patently obvious to me and to MANY others.

but mostly people heard the quote only AFTER hearing they interpretation. They were biased. And it was the GOP- knowing FULL well Kerry didn't mean what they said he meant, who decided to put the troops in the crosshairs yet again, to use our troops for political gain.

If you should be mad at anyone you should be mad at the GOP for using such a despicable tactic.

If you listen carefully to the controversial video, people laugh after Kerry's comments.
They got the joke.

Or are they laughing at the troops?:whatever:

I don't really mind Kerry not apologizing.

If it pisses off enough Americans, it can only help Republicans.

I think what he's basically saying is that the poor and uneducated end up on the frontline in Iraq and that's basically true.

just goes to show you dont know **** about the military. my commander, in his off time, is a math professor at Savannah State University. You cant even get promoted past E5 without college credits. I got my E-2 Simply because I have college credits. Democrats have no idea what theyre talking about when it comes to the military, they must think the US military is like the WW2 era red army or something.

They believe that the only people who join the military are those without other opportunites.

In other words, the losers of society.

is being willfuly ignorant so late in your sad lives not tearing your black souls apart??????

He should apologize for what he said, but I don't think he meant to say it. He obviously botched a joke that was meant to target Bush. He should just stay out of the limelight and keep his mouth shut until election season is over with. He's just giving the Republicans more fuel for their smear machine.

I disagree.

I believe Kerry should be fully involved. It's his patriotic duty to "help" the democrats.

He also mentioned: "It was a botched joke about the president and his people, why would a war veteran than fights for other veterans rights be bashing the troops?"

Because he did it when he first got elected about 34 years ago by accusing troops in Vietnam of doing horrible things.

you only disagree because he has the potential to hurt the dems and as a result of that, help the republicans.

by the way, you never owned up to being wrong about mjf in the other thread.

John Mccain

"Senator Kerry owes an apology to the many thousands of Americans serving in Iraq, who answered their country's call because they are patriots and not because of any deficiencies in their education. Americans from all backgrounds, well off and less fortunate, with high school diplomas and graduate degrees, take seriously their duty to our country, and risk their lives today to defend the rest of us in Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere. They all deserve our respect and deepest gratitude for their service. The suggestion that only the least educated Americans would agree to serve in the military and fight in Iraq, is an insult to every soldier serving in combat, and should deeply offend any American with an ounce of appreciation for what they suffer and risk so that the rest of us can sleep more comfortably at night. Without them, we wouldn't live in a country where people securely possess all their God-given rights, including the right to express insensitive, ill-considered and uninformed remarks."

Yeah, I'm used to like McCain fairly well but now he's kinda gone a little... off?
Still wish that he won the Republican nomination in 2000 over Bush, though. :csad:
