Teach? She's still a teen - who still needs to be in school herself in the movie. Send her packing? I don't see them kicking her out (though Storm might have bad feelings) but in reality, the school is for mutants and there is nothing to teach Rogue about being a mutant anymore. I would think they would say send her to Moria or another school. Certainly take care of her in the normal moral sense but she is not what the school is there for and for all Wolverine's so called connection to Rogue - she's not Rogue anymore nor does she have the alienation that he identified with her for in the first place. I would expect her to drift from all the people around her (including Bobby - especially since their connection was as much about her needing someone who ignored her power as anything more deep) as much as they drift from her as there is not that connection anymore and suspect she'd want to leave after awhile. Sure she might come back as an adult but as a student, it is not the school for her anymore. It's like if she was at a military school and suddenly decided she was not going into the military for her own reasons.

Also it seems to me now that her mutant issue is over and that was supposedly the only reason she left her family - why wouldn't she be going back to them?
Paragraph 1-quite true. My title may have been a bit misleading but I never meant they should put her out on the street.
Paragraph 2-maybe.

Here's a theory - Marie (Rogue) leaves either because she wants to or has to. Because of movie purposes this scenario I'm about to get into moves kinda fast (also, Raven is not in jail at this point, maybe because she's no longer a threat. I know that's stretching it a bit, but for the purposes of this theory, deal with it!). At some point after leaving the school, she runs into Raven. They start talking and Raven takes Marie in. Now Marie doesn't know that Raven was Mystique because she never saw her in her human form. Mystique gets her powers back as does Rogue. Since they've been together now for a while, Rogue trusts Raven (who's still hiding the fact that she's Mystique) so she's kinda like a mother to her like in the comics. Mystique manipulates her and somehow Ms. Marvel is introduced (maybe as some old enemy of Raven's/Mystique's) and Mystique talks Rogue into "dealing with her" (sucking her powers). Rogue thinks she's doing good, not knowing of the bad she's actually doing. After Rogue sucks her powers, she has trouble dealing with it cause she's got Ms. Marvel's memories now and she's figured out the Raven is Mystique. She turns on Mystique and goes back to the mansion to learn how to use her new powers and to deal with what she's done.

That went on a little long, but you guys get the point.

P.S. I could go on with this story and introduce Gambit, but this is long enough already. I mean, if anyone is interested, I'll continue...let me know.

anyone think this, why did she pack all her stuff up when she got the cure, then come back...... why didn't she just go, then come back, and not pack up her stuff, there was no point

I know I'm nitpicking, but it's fun

Maybe she was just packing an overnight bag or something.

Matthias-
You had me until Ms. Marvel. Just doesn't fit w/the movie storyline.
Anyways, all that can't be done b/c it's so involved it would require Rogue geting her own movie, which ain't gonna happen.

That's one possibility. Another could be she didn't know if she was coming back.

Ok, well maybe not Ms. Marvel exactly, but someone with her powers. Maybe they could do it, maybe not, but it wouldn't be to bad to hint at it, do flashbacks or something. At this point, anything to get Rogue her damn powers! Plus it would keep closer to the source material as far as the relationship between Rogue and Mystique. I gotta think closer than whatever the real writers would come up with.

it is hard to put Mystique and Rogue together in the relationship alike the comics/cartoon.

As for Rogue gaining her deserved powers, we can leave that to the 'cure'... who knows what the supposedly permanent 'cure' can do? (It could be a trigger factor to the 2nd mutation evolution to occur? giving Rogue a 2nd mutant ability? Of cos not everyone who took the cure would survive the transformation.)

Zak said they wrote a scene of her going home at one point, but doesnt know if it even was filmed. Since the actress for Rogue's mother was cast, i guess they shot the scene and struggled with the possibility of letting her go forever or making her staying in the School with a possible return for X4.

Thank God they at least chose not to screw her entirely and forever and at least we have a lil bit of hope that she might come back as a mutant, since also Zak said that the nature of her powers make the cure unstable. :(

Since she isn't a Mutant anymore, yeah, she should pack and go back home.

She can come back once the cure wears off and she puts her parents into a coma.

I don't think she would be asked to leave.

But that doesnt mean the kids cant / wont treat her differently. Obviously the Adults would be to mature & all that to do that but those damn kiddies :o She will WANT to leave. I would want to see Storm give Rogue a little bit of a hard time like she did in X3

Regarding the reactions of the others kids I don't think that they will treat Rogue any different. Bobby will eventually break up with Rogue to get together with Kitty. No offense I just don't see any kind of attraction between Bobby and Rogue.

No she is not ugly :)...that has nothing to do wiyh it!

I think it would be against Xavier's dream if they kicked Rogue out. Also, how old is Rogue saposed to be in the movies now? When she was first intorduced in X1, she was in highschool. You would think she would be out of highschool by now. I see movie Rogue as being anywhere from 18 - 20. In X3 we never see her in a classroom. Only in the DR. We see Kitty in a classroom, but she is saposed to be younger than Rogue in the movies I believe.

If there is a next movie, I asbolutely cannot see them writers just leaving Rogue out of any future storyline, or sending her off home. It would outrage not only near enough every single fan of the comic books, but a whole new legion of fans who only know Rogue from the movies.

I am still against her gaining flight ability. Her flying always irked me as there was never an explanation as to why she was able to. Storm uses winds, Angel has his wings, but Rogue just can? I didn't buy it.
I'd much prefer Rogue to just gain super strength.
Maybe she has a fling with Juggs and zapps his when her powers kicks back in ;)

So you don't buy Supes flying? Or the the ability to fly of any other superhero out there?
