^ How would a movie that tells the story of the Six and their battle with Spidey be a '2-hour prologue'?

I don't know how you don't market him as the star if he's in it, otherwise what's the selling point? This comes back to the entire idea being a misguided attempt on the studio to force an expanded universe for a series that doesn't need it. Do we want Spider-Man taking on the Sinister 6? Absolutely! Make that movie. But who's really going to give a rats arse about a film that really can't be anything more than a 2 hour prologue?

You can't tell a story of them battling Spider-Man from their perspective
Yes, you can.
See the Star Wars novels Darth Bane: Path of Destruction, The Rule of Two, and Dynasty of Evil and Darth Plagueis and the Star Trek novels The Eugenics Wars Vols. 1 and 2 and To Reign in Hell: The Exile of Kahn Noonien Singh as examples of how.
Sony should work with Disney and make Spiderman part of the marvel cinematic universe.
^ The principle is the same regardless of medium.
ASM3 in 2 years is going to be another rushed mediocre film. No more.
I'm pleasantly surprised to see the majority of the votes for no. I thought most fans wouldn't see how these spin off ideas have disaster written all over them. Restores my faith in the Spidey fan base a lot.
They need to concentrate on sorting Spidey out first, make a really grate ASM3, get everyone back on side and then everyone will be begging for S6 and Venom again.
ASM2 clearly suffered due to studio interference with shoehorning in the S6 angle and the damage it may have done might mean S6 will already be on to a loser before they even start.
I'll repeat what I said much earlier: production on these movies is going to have zero impact on TASM3, as they're being developed independently of it and will be released AFTER it.

And that also means these movies are just that more disastrous. When even the most ardent fans are seeing this as a bad idea, there is no way it is going to win over mainstream approval from mass audiences.
