Personally, would have to say yes. It's a Captain America movie, so there's no reason to bog down the title with a frivolous over title. People are just going to call it "Captain America" anyway, so all I really see "First Avenger" doing is messing up the film's placement when it gets alphabetized. I mean, Spider-Man wasn't called "Teenage Superhero: Spider-Man," and X-Men wasn't "Mutant Team: X-Men" or anyhthing like that, so why can't Cap's movie simply have his name as its title too?

Yes, but with those films they didn't know where they were going with the franchise. Marvel IS going to make an Avenger film. They already have their lineup, the title is all part of the gameplan for it.

I kind of like it, too.

I get the goal of trying to created aware about the coming Avengers flick, and tying Cap to it, but the current title is just clunky. "The First Avenger' always struck me as an alternative title that would be more palatable to international audiences. Just call it 'Captain America.'

INTERNATIONAL TITLE!

Captain America... by that we mean the old, cool America ... not the new war mongering one!!!

"First Avenger" just adds to the awesomeness, if you ask me. Doesn't matter to me though. I'm fine with either one.

You got me there... "First Avenger" does suggest that Steve is the one who starts it all

Yes, for the love of god. It sounds like ass.

At first i hated it but ts grown on me... im good either way.

Personally, I think it would be better reversed (Captain America:The First Avenger), but I have no problem with them including the moniker in the title. This is a lead-in to Avengers, and this makes it very clear to the uninitiated.

I think it should stay because
a.) It will help lead to the Avengers and it make sense
b) people won't be confused with the 1990 movie

Considering Captain America wasn't the first Avenger, I think they should drop it. They won't lose any money, it won't effect the movie at all. The title Captain America will do just fine.

How many people even remember the 1990 movie?

I would drop the "First Avengers" from the title.

Yes. Although reversing it would make it considerably better.

I don't really care. I'm going to call it "CAPTAIN AMERICA".

I'm pretty sure they're going to change it to "Captain International: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D."

Of course the should change it. "First Avenger" is an awful title. Most people in the world know who Cpt. America is (even my girlfriend).

Yea, confusing the total of 5 people who saw that movie.

And yes, "First Avenger" should be dropped.

I think they should at least reverse it around. But I would prefer it dropped.

It could be alot worse. Captain Planet anybody???

I thought First Avenger was just a working title in progress or something.

Yes, but even if they don't, nobody's gonna call it by it's full name. It'll just be called "Captain America" by the sane population, just like how X-Men Origins: Wolverine was just called "Wolverine".

don't drop it.. keep it.. nice marketing internationally..

Yes, its clunky and takes focus away from Cap and puts it on the roots of Avengers team.

If anything they should at least change it to Captain America: The First Avenger.
