I mean seriously STORM getting her ass kicked by Callisto??? That would never happen she can take an army by herself with one gale force wind and yet Callisto kicked her ass. I though she had great moments but it pissed me severely that a mutant such as Callisto was able to hold her own against someone like STORM who is said to have unlimited potential. Why the hell was she hiding when all those car were being thrown, Storm would have blown them back. Overall I though she was the best fleshed out character though.

By the way what the hell was she doing when Dark Phoenix was raising the house up???

Now Magneto scared?? He kicked Phoenix ass in the comics before. He would never be scared of an opponent no matter how much more powerful they compared to him, he can hold his own against Phoenix, it also made me mad that they make it out to be that if there is no metal then he pretty much is in trouble which is far from true. He can throw magnetic forces at opponents or protect himself with a bubble. He is far from helpless without metal. Hopefully for X-men 4 they will explore this side of him more.

I think they made Phoenix too powerful, especially at the end where demolecularizes everyong, even those she can't see. It was a little over kill.

There is no such thing as Phoenix being too powerful. I also did not like Mags being depowered.

Jean has telepathy that explains why she wouldn't need eyes to see when she has telepathy. Jean is a telepath and a telekinetic. Which she can use Psychokinesis as well having these powers. Also psychokinesis can become pyrokinesis as well. In X2 Jean not only used Telepathy and Telekinesis she also used psychokinesis.

Also in the comcis Dark phoenix destroyed a star with inhabited lives on it that is over 5 billion lives. dark phoenix wasn't called Ms. Marvel universe for no reason.

Know your history on comics, and what previously happened in X2. Jean uses psychokinesis as well. It wasn't overkill. If you never read the comics fine, but don't go tearing the character down because you can't stand the fact that their powerful. Get Over it!

i think the complaint about Storm goes all the way back since the days of X1. sure they made her fly a bit more in this film, but its too little too late.

oh and Dark Phoenix was just fine. she just needed the firebird to make her look complete that's all.

He isn't though. At the end, he moved the metal chess part.

Yeah like when Storm says I cant control it that way. That was actually singer telling us he didnt wanna make her fly and there was no money.

Storm hid away from the flying cars? Oh cumon. Get yourself up in the sky woman and live up to your name. Damn the budget!

Don't tell me Colossus hid from flying cars too.

The movies were set in a realistic tone, not comic book, which brought everyone'e power down a notch. To keep in step with that I thought they should have done the same with her. I am not trying to degrade the character, just trying to put it in the context of these realistically toned movies.

Many people said Jean wasn't powerful enough but i think her power levels were fine, after all this is jean who is the phoenix not a cosmic bird from the comics which is all powerful so i think it's safe to say jean shouldn't be too ALL powerful, just enough to be the strongest power ever;)

I agree the character chemistry should've been handled differently both in and out of battle.

I thought about that to, but then I thought about it again. What exactly could Storm do?

The way that they did it worked well, IMO. It gave us Bobby vs John and it also led to a very powerful scene with Magneto being hit with the cure (which required teamwork). I'm not sure what Storm could've done during that scene besides creating the fog to enhance the fight...Remember? "We work as a team".

Well storm seemed to only show her power when she use her electric bolts, i mean come on what about the WIND! It's one of the strongest tools at her deiposal in a fight like this and all she does is create a big of fog to shroud a fight...SHE IS A FREAKING POWERHOUSE WHO CAN MANIPULATE THE WEATHER TO CREATE DEVESTATING NATURAL DISASTERS! and yet she creates fog....

Doesn't matter........Magneto is what he is (the man)!!....was Storm in the movie? All I saw was some cupie chick who could not have possibly been head of the Morlocks and an African GODDESS

Why does everyone think Storm is so powerful? She ISN'T, compared to Magneto and Phoenix. Phoenix can manipulate matter with a thought, Magneto has total mastery of electromagnetism (NOT the electromagnetic spectrum).

Sure, Storm can POTENTIALLY sum up hurricanes and tornados, but that's the ultimate realization of her power. Cyclops can POTENTIALLY level New York with a single glance, or pulverize adamentium out of shape. But he doesn't. Same with Pyro and all other high class mutants. Doesn't mean anything.

Reasons why Storm cannot beat Phoenix: Jean will fry her brain before Ororo can even see her. Or, if she's feeling nasty, rip her apart limb from limb, and Storm wouldn't be able to do anything. Screw with the wiring in her brain, make her blind, feel intense pain, etc.

Reasons why Storm cannot beat Magneto: Erik has his electromagnetic forcefields, virtually impenetretable, plus his mastery over electromagnetism would probably enable him to manipulate the very lightning bolts that Storm throws at him. No contest. Oh, he can also reverse the blood flow in her body by manipulating iron molecules in her blood cells, while he is safely behind his forcefields.

And it goes on.

storm created tornadoes in x2. i thought that was her most powerful move in the movies. i mean comeon....she made like 20 tornadoes. i think she should've used her winds as well and blow the brotherhood away like paper. and colossus coulda caught the cars that were coming down or something and throw them back... that woulda been sick.. but i think all the budget went to the pheonix effects and the hurried schedule.

Sorry, but Halle SUCKED as Storm...looked great, not the part.....Angela Bassett would've been better (much more kick a$$ attitute)

Storm could not win against Phoenix, even if with strong winds and hurricanes. Do you think Phoenix would budge?

I think Phoenix's power should be higher than Magneto and Storm, so they got the power level right. However in terms of what her power is, I wanted fire!!! :)

and she can suck the air right out of him and make him choke. or make it cold enough that he can't concentrate (she's impervious to temp change). its just how the writers write it. anyone can beat anyone in fiction.

Can Magneto create forcefield in the movie? I've never seen him conjure one up, otherwise Beast wouldn't have been able to jam those darts into him.

Making it too cold for him to concentrate? Get real.

And since when has mastery over the winds given one the ability to "suck air" out of something? Storm has no ability to create an air vacuum. And certainly, even if she could, by the time Magneto is out of breath, he coulda reversed the blood flow to her brain 100 times with a flick of the wrist.

Magneto nor Storm had the power to stop Dark Phoenix, I mean Magneto got handled by her at Jean's house, so Storm didn't have a chance!!! But it would have been nice to see Storm use her powers more creatively. I felt disappointed because everytime Storm used her powers it was too quick and she didn't do anything else. I know Storm can't take down DP but it would have been nice to see her try.:o :down

She did it in X2. and how can we "get real?" lol. were talking about 2 fictional characters with fictional powers in a fictional world. AS I SAID. Its just how the writers want to write it. There is no defenitive, unlike with pheonix, they said she's the most powerful mutant or whatever, and that's defenitive. But even wolverine killed her.. cuz thats how they wanted to write it... any who.. i dont wanna get into this dumb crap anymore. my point is, the writers have the power, not the characters.
