Siege Ends The Avengers

Why would they need so many really strong characters? There are all kinds of redundancies in that group. The fact that Beast happens to look like a cat and Ken happens to look like a gorilla doesn't mean they can't both be great characters. Which they can because they are. :awesome:

That actually seems like a pretty good team.

Although, I still wish they'd just keep the New Avengers roster virtually unchanged and just start up the classic Avengers in another book. But oh well.

I like that roster alot, but i'd say get rid of the gorilla and put in HULK. Hulk deserves to be reunited with the avengers. That would make the team complete for me. And....replace Spiderman with Spiderwoman.

Either Spider-Man or Wolverine is going to be on the new team. Assuming Bendis doesn't put both of them on the team again, I'd much rather have just Spider-Man than Wolverine and Spider-Woman.

As for the Hulk, if he's not a complete moron, I'd be down with that. It'd be nice to see the Hulk play nice with other heroes again. The Defenders was a long time ago.

I like how the article also states that from now on we'll be seeing a much lighter and happier Marvel Universe. For the past decade everything has been dark and gloomy so it'll be a nice breath of fresh air. Its about time to give the heroes a break and give the readers a break from the incessant events.

Although, i do fear that since things will pretty much be returning to normal status quo, that people wont be as interested anymore and sales will go down. I mean let's face it, the reason why the MU has attracted so much attention and controversy this past decade was because everything was dark and crazy. I mean, say what you will about Civil War but it boosted Marvel's profile quite a bit i think.

Well, Bendis mentioned that it'll be "happier" in the sense that the heroes will realize that there's a world worth defending, but the villains will still be "hellish." So I think we can expect similar stories to what we've gotten under Bendis, at least, but just not so much of everything being stacked against the heroes. The man on the street will probably appreciate the heroes more and the heroes will probably see that and be less conflicted about their job.

It was popular during the Shooter Era as well and that was pretty heroic with the Secret Wars and all.

:thing: :doom: :thing:

All I ask of Bendis is no more NINJAS and no more Hood! Let's see the avengers fight Doom or Galactus or something epic.

I'd say give Doom a rest at this point, too. We've got him fighting Thor and the FF/Black Panther right now, plus he just got done fighting Dr. Voodoo and he'll probably play some role in Siege given that he was a Cabal member up until just recently.

Yeah now that you mentioned it, Doom has been a bit saturated lately. He seems to be everywhere. Ok well...i still say Galactus should make some epic return back to earth. Yeah i know he swore never to bother earth again but...would you trust a guy who wears a purple helmet?

Aw hell no. We'll discover that that was Mephisto talking **** the whole time. Beyonder has been Beyond since II. :D

Um...I actually really hope that is the roster. I would love it, and it has several characters that I wouldn't have expected.

And Beast deserves to be on a team where he can feel like a hero again.

This will get me to start buying Avengers again. :D

It could just represent the Marvel Universe. You show Natasha (new on-going), Agents of Atlas Gorilla, Beast represents the X-Men, Thing represents Fantastic Four and then you got the big guys of Marvel Universe. Or it could be the new Avengers roster. Time will tell.

Now is that Bucky or Steve? I wouldn't mind Bucky if Steve is doing SHIELD stuff. Nick was always dropping in on the Avengers back in the day. But of course I prefer Steve on the team. Maybe he's wearing Bucky's togs as a tribute.

:thing: :doom: :thing:

The artist drew blockheads. Literally. I like it, but I'm not keen on the faces, doesn't look proportional.

I've always liked Jim Cheung, but i cant stand his faces personally. To me it seems like he draws the same faces over and over again on everybody.

Kind of sucks to see Beast in an X-Men costume, but otherwise I'd be happy with that Avengers roster. Maybe throw in another lady so the gender bias isn't so pronounced. She-Hulk or Ms. Marvel, perhaps.

Why wouldn't Beast keep his X-Costume? It would at least be a good way for him to show where he came from.

I wouldn't mind if this is the line-up, but I'm thinkin it's just the Marvel U in general.

There's no way Bendis won't put Spider-Woman on that team.

ALSO, did anyone else notice...
Cap's eyes are Blue and Hawkeye's Arm is Metallic?!?

Hawkeye's just wearing some kind of metallic covering over his arm. In fact, I think that's the same costume he was wearing during Avengers Disassembled.

I don't like that costume, personally. Plus, his SWORD costume was cool.
