Siege Ends The Avengers

H. R. Nubs-n'-stuf knows. Pym + "Yellowjacket" = :barf:

I want him to just drop the codenames altogether whenever Jan comes back and takes the "Wasp" name. "Just call me Dr. Pym."

Yellowjacket was actually always my favorite. Unfortunately, it's always been tainted because that when he was the most nuts. But it's always been my favorite costume of his (Sue me, I'm from Pittsburgh. Black and Gold is a near perfect color scheme....)

The colors are good (and I'm glad he's still using them as the Wasp), but the costume's ugly to me and the idea that he'd ever go back to that identity is offensive to me.

WHAT do you guys think about CAP's BLUE EYES and Hawkeye's METALLIC ARM??
(I posed the question a few pages back, excuse the caps)

ps. 300! Finally!! Avvy time.....

I like the codename "Yellowjacket". Way better and more masculine than "Wasp" :o

I don't know, they're both a little effeminate. Bugs are pretty much a matriarchal species. I think Dr. Pym is best.

Look at it this way, using the YJ I.D., well, it's like going to your dead ex wife's funeral that you are the prime suspect in her murder, wearing an O.J. Simpson jersey.

Hawkeye's had that costume before. Cap's blue eyes could either mean it's Steve in Bucky's costume or just a colorist error. I'm willing to go with the latter.

And I agree with Corp, anyone who doesn't see Gorilla-Man is a damn fine and perfectly kickass non-gimmicky character can just go to Hades. :cmad:

I agree. I think Pym should've kept his YJ persona, instead of taking over Wasp as a triumph to his deceased wife. Wasp will forever be associated with Janet Pym, and not Henry Pym. And as you said, being Wasp does make Henry seemed more feminine.

Liking the new roster
Iron Man and Thor are a gimme, plus I like Bucky staying as Cap. Surprised at peoples surprise cause I thought Steve told him to stay as Cap in "Who Wields the Shield"

Beast addition is awesome. Hawkeye and Black Widow are strong choices. I love Spiderman as an Avenger. I hope it stays that way. Gorilla Man is a cool addition. And as awesome as Thing is, I just dont know how I feel about him straying from the FF.

And Hawkeye defintiely doesnt have a metallic arm like people keep bringing up. Hes worn that costume before.

I really hope this is the new roster. If the Cap in the picture is Steve, it will really fit in with the idea of a "Heroic Age." As far as I'm concerned, in terms of who's actually the most heroic, The Thing, Spider-Man, and Cap are the greatest heroes in the MU.

It's surprising that people are actually upset about Gorilla-Man. Ken Hale's a damned fine character whether you read his comics or not. He's more than just a gimmick; his personality is compelling enough that he'd work just as well if he were just a dude instead of a(n awesome) gorilla.

I came up with an idea that the first DC/Marvel crossover in how long should be Gorilla Man and Congorilla against Gorilla Grodd who has taken over the Super Apes from Red Ghost.

And there would be an ultimate battle of Gorilla City against an army of Super Apes created by Gorilla Grodd travelling the Marvel multiverse gathering more and more Super Apes.

And then travel 2000 years into the future when it's a Planet of the Apes.

I was wondering the same thing, that's what makes me think that this will be the Avengers roster after Siege.

I doubt it. Why would the Thing be an Avenger? No one looks fondly on the brief period when 3/4ths of the Fantastic Four were actually Avengers.

He's an awesome MYSTICAL gorilla. He's basically immortal (at least insomuch as he doesn't age) and if anyone kills him, they'll become a gorilla. That's always an awesome threat that he used to dish out.

It would be a bit redundant to have him and Beast on the same team, though. The only difference is Ken Hale uses guns more often (as in nearly every adventure). But, yeah, Hale is one of many of the Agents of Atlas' cool characters. It's not because he's a talking gorilla, it's because of a quirky origin and some good dialogue Parker writes for him.

He's just awesome. That's the bottom line. Ya *****e bags. :o

It's a bit redundant to have Spider-Man and Beast on the same team, since they're equally agile but Pete is way stronger. It's redundant to have Cap and Thor on the same team, because they both have military experience and Thor is more powerful. The fact is that, as long as it's organized properly, redundancies are good for the types of situations super hero teams face. During combat situations, natural disasters, and other catastrophes, you want as much manpower as you can get and you want groups of specialists in certain areas to be able to pool their resources.

Now, now. If anyone can pull it off, it's Ben.

He was the Kevin Bacon of the Marvel U for years. About a third of 616 continuity for non title characters came from either Marvel Two in One or Team Up. Ben was everywhere and it didn't seem to interfere with his time on the FF. At least until Byrne got a ***** for She-Hulk.

And even then when he flirted with the West Coast Avengers, everyone was drooling over the possibilities. Even the characters were ready for it. Hawkeye chief among them. That lineup rocked.

Anywho, I don't think Ben on the team would be much like when Reed and Sue did their stint. Let's face it. Ben fits an All-Star Team way better than Mr. and Mrs. Richards.

Ben could do it and not lose a step.

:thing: :thing: :thing:

Why not Dr. Pym.

Is Jean Grey the only character allowed to use their name as their superhero identity? :p
