Siege

Yea if the Avengers title ever came back I would want it to start at #504.I don't New Avengers counting towards the numbering.

Yep, started a thread about that about 4 or 5 things down. Is Siege and Reassembled the same event?

So, it has two names or is a two act thing or something?

ah I wonder where it went...thanks for the warning Corp. lol

Nah, it looks like runawayboulder just focused on the fact that the Avengers' big three were reuniting when he created the thread. That happens in Siege. The event itself has only ever been called Siege.

I'm interested in this, though I'm so tired of events it's not funny. I am glad that it's only 4 issues long so the event isn't quite as huge as usual. Chances are this'll be my jumping off point for all Avengers and Avengers-related titles, so it's nice to be going out on a huge important note.

Siege of ASGARD

Because I'm sick of Marvel's price gouging and I need to drop a bunch of titles just to afford comics realistically. The Avengers line carries the most titles, $4 issues, and branching mini's and such so it will save me the most money. I need to drop the entirety of some branch (because I can't just buy half a story) so it's either Avengers, X-Men, or Cosmic... and I pick Avengers.

If after Seige they aren't so connected and centric I might stay on a title or two, but most likely I won't.

I don't blame ya JH. I can only afford the Thor Titles and Herc title as it is myself.

Eh, it seems like a case of throwing the baby out with the bathwater to me. The Avengers titles aren't so interconnected that you can't figure out what's going on if you're just reading one series within the franchise. I'm only reading Mighty Avengers and Avengers: The Initiative right now and I don't feel like I'm missing anything.

My problem is that I'm a completionist. I HAVE to have the entire story, especially the core titles of an ongoing story. That being New and Dark Avengers in this instance, both $4.

Plus, I bind my comic book into volumes and I need all the important plot points. For example, I do all the Avengers together, but I don't buy Thor. Suddenly this Asguard Seige deal comes out of the blue if I don't include anything of Thor's title, so I'm going to have to go back and find certain Thor stories that'll fit into the Avengers volumes so that if I'm reading the volumes straight through, it makes sense.

I'm just like that. It's all or nothing. I can't stand to pick or choose.

That seems like an excessively stressful way to read comics, but to each his own.

heh THANK THE GODS I'm not a completionist any more. I learned MY lesson during the Infinity War titles.

My current buy list...

New Avengers
Dark Avengers
Mighty Avengers
Avengers: The Initiative
Spider-Woman
Secret Warriors
Thunderbolts
Uncanny X-Men
X-Men Legacy
Astonishing X-Men
X-Factor
X-Force
Cable
New Mutants
Incredible Hulk
Hulk
Son of Hulk
Nova
Guardians of the Galaxy

Along with:

The Marvels Project
Immortal Weapons
Clone Saga
Dark Reign: The List
Random Deadpool arcs

Along with any other various mini, oneshot, and various ongoings I try out or tie in with stuff I do read.

And that's just Marvel. Outside of Marvel I collect:

Batman
Batman & Robin
Green Lantern
Green Lantern Corps
Blackest Night
Project Superpowers 2
Project Superpowers: Bring on the Bad Guys
Black Terror
Echo
The End League

So all that is just too much, and the more Marvel raises their prices the less I can afford. I've already had to drop some titles to afford these and I'm so far stretched with these it isn't funny.

I've dropped:

Punisher
Deadpool (mostly)
Thor
Captain America
Wolverine

So something's gotta give. I'm reading Hulk stuff due to my liking Skaar, but that's probably going to get the axe also. I also find myself growing more and more bitter toward Marvel and finding their stuff less enjoyable due to it, so I want to just get out of a good chunk of it, read some other companies, and maybe try to get my love of the genre back up. I love certain book, but overall I'm getting frustrated and if I don't do something soon I'll most likely be giving up comics within a year or two... which I want to fight as much as possible.

DANG JH!!!! lol I had a list like that back in the 80's and 90's.

Wow JH. That's quite a list. I'd have to give up something like...the power bill if I bought that many a month.

Yeah, I'm to the point to where if I want to try a new title, I have to drop another one. Or I have to choose to alter my eating habbits, or bribe my wife, or whatever to pick up what I want.

I budget myself at $20-$25 per week on comics. Beyond that really hurts us. Lately, there's been 2 weeks a month at between $35-$50... which is just insane. That's why I need to cut seriously.

If I drop all the Hulk and Avenger stuff (and by Avenger I also count Spider-Woman, Secret Warriors, and Thunderbolts) that'll free up enough to where I wont' be spending NEAR as much, and I can try out new titles every once in a while without breaking the bank.

You know with Thor's track record, I wouldn't be surprised if he somehow lost to Taskmaster.

Yeah but it's looking like the main problem with Thor NOW is the fact that he's afraid to accidentally kill someone again. Hoping that the story with Seth fixed that.

Yeah back in the 80-90's I was getting 35 to 40 a week myself, and when you stop and think about it, the comics were cheaper too. lol
Once my daughter was born things changed. lol
