Siege

It would make my year if they killed Daken! I'd love to see Thor rip out his wrist blade and shove it thru his jugular....

But it wont happen... the previews make it look like siege is gunna change things up for pooch-erine...

I won't they won't kill off Norman; he just came back from the dead not too long ago, and I don't think they should off such a great villain. I also want to see him in Spider-man comics after Siege is done.

Couldn't agree more, but Bendis said he is turning off his accounts which means someone with a lot of history is getting offed.

He's at his absolute peak right now. Short of getting the Infinty Gauntlet or some god being giving him ultimate power, he's never going to be in a higher and more dangerous position than he is now.

I honestly can't see him going "well, ya know I tried full world domination and that didn't work so I'll just go after that prick Spiderman" after all he's been through.

Taskmaster better not be sacrificed. Bendis came close enough for my liking in SIEGE: THE CABAL #1. :o

WHOA!

Just read Dark Wolverine #82 and it has a part that I did NOT see coming that and that fits in in a big way with Siege.

Did NOT see this coming, and am really surprised they put it in a relatively minor series like this rather than right in Siege itself.

If you're definitely buying the ish, don't read the spoiler below cuz it'll be more fun to just read it yourself. But if you're on the fence, the spoiler below might make ya wanna pick the book up and see it for yourself.

Well, all of us who have been following Dark Wolverine know that he's had some sort of plan he's been working toward, and we know that he really doesn't like being under Norman's thumb. Well, in this issue he reiterates how Norman's got them all forced to be there for the Siege. He also says that although Norman's promised them freedom afterward, he knows that Norman will never give it to them, he loves the power too much. As the battle begins and rages Norman and Daken cover each other's backs, when suddenly Daken yells "behind you!". When Osborn turns around, suddenly Daken's claws stab through his back! The issue ends with Osborn on his knees with blood flowing out.

The ONLY thing I didn't like about the issue is that Daken and Osborn were ripping through the Asgardians WAY too easily for my liking. Besides that, fantastic issue.

That's it? That's all he did?

He's gonna need to do alot more than that to kill Norman. Does he forget that he has a healing factor too? He'll be fine. Guaranteed. Marvel wouldn't give Aaron the right to kill Osborn if Bendis wasn't through using him in the main Siege book anyways.

Somehow, that Daken vs Osborn business will find a way to be irrelevant since it's not in a more important book. Osborn will be using a LMD or something cheap like that.

I'm sure it won't count for anything. It's an impalement. Dude's been impaled before and he came out just fine.

Hmpf... that's some serious business to end up being irrelevant later on. That's something I'd have saved for the main book. I'd really have to question the timing on that? But Marvel has re-used panels (drawn by different artist) before, so I still think that'll end up in the main book.

However, if it didn't... It would be the likes of how the Skrulls, kept cloning Reed Richards, had built literal sets of familiar and comfortable surroundings to get him (or, his clones I should say?) comfortable enough to unknowingly divulge the formula for the Skrulls to hide themselves from any kind of detection -- and this ended up in a SI tie-in!!?!?

Do you guys know what that means?

Daken will be killed.

And I agree with Dread, they BETTER NOT ****ING KILL TASKMASTER!! :argh:

No I dont think so. The Punisher and Daken are to have a rematch in the forth story arc there so I dont think daken will die in seige...

Yeah, that's one of the things I was thinking too. I hate when they make up cheap shock value just to wipe it out the next issue.

If anything, I think the timing of this re-match is going to have happened somewhere before Seige? And Daken will obviosuly survive since he's in Seige. But it'll be nice for Frank to get his thunder back from Daken, even if he doesn't kill him.

i'm not a huge marvel fan, there are some characters i like and i will admit to not reading siege or the other comics that goes with it. but i have read some of the previews where osborne gives the sentry some serum and declares him as his special weapon. now my thoughts are this. doesnt siege remind anybody of xmen 3 the last stand? in the movie jean grey/phoenix was this uncontrollable entity and magneto wanted to use jean/phoenix as his secret weapon. plus the whole osborne coming into power is alot like luthor and his dark avengers reminds me of the crime syndicate. now i will admit to being more of a dc fan, and i know i will appear as a "troll", but i was curious to know if what marvel was doing now reminded them of the things that i just mentioned. again, i am just curious and don't want to start a huge fight or anything or people saying "well dc has copied alot from marvel". just wondering if the things i mentioned reminded them of siege. i will say that i like that they are getting rid of so many of the avengers book and will probably make one or two books of the same title. both dc and marvel need to cut down and the copies and try to reinforce good story telling on a few of the main books.

There are definitely similarities, but I don't think they're detrimental to anything. There are plenty of differences that distinguish Dark Reign and Siege from those other stories: The Dark Avengers are villains posing as heroes to spin the media against the real heroes, whereas the CSA were actual evil versions of the heroes from another universe. Magneto was just a crafty guy manipulating the Phoenix to act as his weapon in X-Men 3, whereas Osborn is using his own craziness to woo the Sentry into trusting him, and Osborn has in turn been manipulated himself by Loki, Emma Frost, and various others throughout Dark Reign.

So yes, if you simplify the concepts down to a very basic level, there are similarities. But the actual content of the stories are wildly different and, more importantly, they're all fairly entertaining. You don't necessarily have to reinvent the wheel to tell a good story.

Besides, all that is quite a bit of a stretch just to fit your theory.
