Simpsons vs. Family Guy

Early Family Guy was funny. But then it became the same joke....over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and....

you get the idea. If Brian or Stewie or interacting or on a subploti t can still be funny but for the most part the show has really gone downhill, especially with its return.

Simpsons is more creative and structured but its lost its charm over the last few years.

South Park is just brilliant and hilarious. Sure every season offers a few duds but they also offer a few classics and the rest just being really damn funny. Great social commentary that is always changing (unlike Family Guy) and can therefore go to new places (unlike Simpsons) and never gets old, thusly.

I actually prefer the newer and more crazy Simpsons, the old episodes seem kinda slow nowadays t:

I prefer Family Guy, American Dad, and South Park.
I never cared for Futurama, the only reason why I occasionally watch it is because it's on before Family Guy.
I'm willing to give the Simpsons movie the benefit of the doubt because I've heard it's good, but the show needs to be put out of its misery already.

Personally, I love all of the shows in question.

Between Family Guy vs. The Simpsons, I think that Family Guy is the -funnier- show... I find myself laughing out loud at nearly every episode.

The Simpsons... I think it's the overall better show. It's not as laugh out loud funny as Family Guy, but it's a lot more intelligent and meaningful.

I like Futurama because of the satirical nature of the humor. And the replay value of it is amazing... I watch the episodes every night on Adult Swim no matter how many times I've already seen them.

Although I still enjoy it, my least favorite is probably American Dad. It's just a cheap ripoff of Family Guy, MacFarlane trying to juice off of the popularity of Family Guy, and not being nearly as inspired.

Well, and King of the Hill... I don't watch that show too much. It's okay... but not that great.

Of all the animated shows:

The Simpsons > Family Guy / Futurama > American Dad > King of the Hill

One show that I don't think gets enough credit though (it was only on for 1 season) is Clone High. I absolutley LOVE that show, and would put it among Family Guy and Futurama.

Since the movie came out, I've been taping both Simpsons reruns on per day, and I'm surprised at how many I've never seen (like this one where Burns sells the plant to Germans). They're in the middle of season 3 right now, and even though I've been watching for nearly the entire run of the series, I can't believe I've missed this many over the years.

I would say the Simpsons get the top spot because they have been on longer but then that would be cheap.

It was great years ago, but now it is starting to drag like a horse that has a broken leg. But again, the Simpsons WAS great. Now they are alright which brings down the overall show to GOOD.

Family Guy was great also, WAS. Then it got cancelled. The dvds sold too well and it seems that Seth just went cheap because it looks like Fox only cares about numbers. So now Family Guy is okay. Overall, GOOD. Only it doesn't have twenty or so years on air to have people look at it like the Simpsons. And like Seth said in that speech, "Funny". Keyword, not trying to give a message about family or anything.

Now South Park, it has been good and gotten better! They went from stupid little plots that meant nothing to relevant humor about situations in the news and still delivered humor. Overall, GREAT.
