Single Issue-Must Haves

Must-Have of the Day, starting off a week of X-Men (or related) titles.

I just bought 100 comics from mycomicshop.com, and I finally got this classic issue again. Not only is it a classic X-Men appearance, it's also a classic Doom issue. (I still kick myself for selling off my first comic collection, in which I owned every X-Men comic from 94 - 1988...and, even had the first appearance of Wolverine from Hulk.)

yea id kick you too. :oldrazz:

Must Have of the Day, featuring one of the first Wolverine solo stories (in fact, it might be the first). Sure, The Brood were just a rip-off of Alien; but, this issue, focusing on Logan's struggle with being impregnated with a Brood embryo, blew me away when it came out in the 80's.

That looks like pure stink is wafting off of his body. It reeks just to look at that cover.

Must Have of the Day, featuring the true first appearance of Cable, when Madeline gives birth to Cyclop's son.

HA! having it come out of his tightie-brownies was, in retrospect, probably a mistake. Good catch.

Good call on the issue, too. Besides the Byrne/Claremont run, that was probably my favorite X-storyline. Must have read that issue until it was falling apart.

Must Have of the Day, featuring the return of Jean Grey! While this story began in Avengers, Jean's return was in this issue of Fantastic Four, before being continued in the new X-title, X-Factor.

Must Have of the Day, ending my week of some of my favorite X-titles, featuring the issue that shook up the first volume of X-Factor. When Marvel went away from focusing on the original X-Men to this band of misfits, I was sorely disappointed. I really wondered what the hell they were thinking. (Kind of like how they tried it with Thunderbolts in their first volume, and X-Force with the whole X-Static thing.) What I didn't count on was the brilliance of Peter David, and this quickly started to become my favorite X-title at that time.

an speaking of time platforms

cool ass issue from days gone by. cause i know you guys dont like old comic books( that is kinda strange to me since when i started collecting i wanted to go back and read what came before but oh well to each his own) Ben gets the idea to use doom's time platform, to go back and give his younger self a serum that reed invented to cure him of being the thing. Thinking that the serum would have reverse the effects on him now. It doesnt work on the older ben now, because his cells have absorbed too much cosmic ray energy. It would have worked when he 1st became the thing. Ben meets his younger self and finds out just how much of a jerk and unbearable he was. He earns more respect for his teammates for putting up with his moody,"that time of the month" always ass. Reed tells him when he comes back to the future, that all he did was create a parallel universe, where that Ben didnt become the thing. whew! see this is why you guys should read old books. i hate typing this much and also after that i sound like so much of a comic book nerd. it's glad to know i am amongst others of my ilk:cwink:

A really fantastic Professor X side story. Amazing psychic battle and general seventies X-Men awesomeness.

oh my stars and garters!
i loooove Beast. He is one of my all time favorite characters.
i loved him ever since he was in the Avengers. i love that he was awesomely smart but wasnt pretentious.Plus he always had groupie love from chicks back then.So when i started to dig him and since this was before the internet and Wikipedia where you can just go look stuff up. i wanted to know how he had got that way. so after mowing a &^% load of neighborhood grass. i got the $15 bucks(hey! that was alot of money back then) to get this one.
Hank was working as the brand corporation and found out they had some shaddy stuff going on so he needed to disguise himself and found out. He drank an untested mutagen to get fur and fangs( you know for a real smart guy that was hella stupid). Later on turning more bestial. He had a run in with Iron Man. They fought and he thought he had strangled him.Strangle a guy in a iron Suit?!?That was hella stupid too! years later when he join the avengers. Iron man asked him. Hey! you were outta your &%$#* mind last time we met. what happened? Beast told him. man! i drank some wine, listened to Miles Davis. i chilled and got my *&^%$ together. He then joined the Avengers and became the bombastic, bouncing, brilliant, blushing, blue beast that i dug.
