Horror Sinners - Michael B. Jordan/Ryan Coogler Reunite

Happy I went to see it on the big screen.

I still need two spinoffs!

First.
A flick of them native Americans hunting down vampires! There is something there. I don’t know why we’ve never had one of those, but as soon I seen it on the screen it made sense. Tis’ also really badass and cool.

Second.

IF they wanted to, there is a sexy-bloody film there with Mary and Stack. Bonnie and Clyde type things through decades. Mind went racing just thinking of the things they’ve done to finally decide to meet old Sammy.

Delroy f'n Lindo.

The one weakness in this film was
Smoke getting the jump on Remmick to help save Sammy. They needed to think that part through more because there is NO WAY that Smoke was able to sneak up on Rem and through his vamp horde in the water without none of them noticing. He literally appears out of nowhere.

I get it, but in my mind the way I play it that makes sense.

Stacks got him there. Dropped him off and bounce with the snow bunny. Daylight was coming and they couldn’t wait.

I'd definitely watch either of those. If a sequel happens, the Stack and Mary movie is the most likely route they'd go. Maybe they could also throw some flashbacks with Smoke and Stack in Chicago working for Al Capone in there too because that's another thing I'd like to see.

Afters seeing it twice...

Its pretty much a perfect movie until the rushed 3rd act. The first half is so much stronger on a repeat viewing (and that was already great).

I'm starting to think the 3rd act needed
the Choctaw to show and make it a full battle

They rushed it a bit too much. Its a movie that was so perfectly detailed became kinda sloppy with certain details late.

Only issue with that is all the other vampires became weaker once Remmick got hurt. So naturally Stack should have gotten so as well. Idk I said the same thing earlier and maybe there was a window for him to sneak by with all of them disoriented but its sloppy compared to the rest of the movie.

My spinoff would be
Remmick in the Gaelic era watching his land in Ireland being taken over, becoming a vampire and his journey throughout the years.

You can probably do Godfather style where Stack and Mary although no longer under control of Remmick still have his memories and thoughts in their head. Meanwhile we see Stack and Mary's journey run parallel and how they share/shared this inherent loneliness via vampire life.
Word to @Frodo

Can very easily see this being adapted as a stage play. Especially with the second half being taking place in a single location.
18:27 Jack O'Connell and Jayme Lawson said they've had discussions about this going to Broadway one day. Success of the film is important to get that kinda push.

While I'm not expecting a direct sequel this world that Coogler established is definitely ripe for spinoff potential and I just think there's a lot of cool stuff they could still explore here either on the big screen or as an HBO Max series like what they are doing with Welcome to Derry and Dune: Prophecy.

A spinoff show with those Native American vampire hunters is a must IMO because there's definitely some cool world building there and like others have said seeing what Stack and Mary have been doing over the years Bonnie and Clyde style would be pretty dope too.

I'm even down for a spinoff involving the Remmick character and seeing all the crazy stuff with how he got turned and the history behind the whole Irish/Folk aspect could be interesting too.

Hollywood and 3rd acts....they need a whole study dedicated to perfecting the 3rd act of a movie

Something else I could very much see happening is them going the Dune and IT route and giving us a spinoff series on Max about vampires in this universe.
Honestly would rather Ryan use his time like Matt Reeves did with the Penguin on that instead of Marvel tv shows.

A lot of pressure on Ironheart/Eyes of Wakanda to be solid or that might sway WB/Max decision.

They were clearly joking.

As for sequels or prequels, I personally want this to remain a one and done. Everything doesn't need to be milked to death.

I'm glad more people are calling out bullsh** box office articles that are just there to shape a narrative around which movies are deemed "successful."

The more people stop caring about box office returns, the better it will be to talk about movies and see what movies get made.

Thank you! I was wondering why these articles started popping up adding more stipulations for the movie to be considered profitable. Then I remembered the talk surrounding movies like Bad Boys and Boomerang back in the day using the same logic. I guess things haven't changed that much.

On here, talking about this movie and bringing up "THE scene", we're talking about the past and future spirits showing up when Sammy was playing. But over on TikTok when they're talking about "THE scene" in this, they're all talking about Hailee Steinfeld spitting in MBJ's mouth.
