SM3 at Wondercon

I just came back from WonderCon! They had about 40 minutes of a presentation about the movie Surf's Up, and about 5 minutes of Spider-Man footage! But the trailer was still cool. There's already a description out, but I'll just chime in with some notes about my experience that I didn't notice in the description.

- The moisture on Brock's shirt is from the rain, if anyone wanted to know the minute details. As soon as the symbiote hits him, he throws his sweater off and it takes over.
- When the Dr. Connors scene is shown, they show a camera shot from what seems to be the point of view of the symbiote. It was black and white and the camera was moving frantically looking at Peter Parker.
- They show a scene where Harry looks in the mirror and sees his dad. "He took me from you. Now you know what to do." Then it shows Harry chasing Peter through a narrow alley, swiping a sword. Then he throws the balls at him and Peter says "I hate those things!"
- The scene of the Columbia logo turning black looked really cool.
- The two scenes we see Venom, he still looked very unfinished (though he looked a lot different from the leaked footage we've seen.) It was a quick shot, but he looked like a black blob with sharp teeth. He looked bigger, but again, it was very hard to ascertain anything about his look. I don't think we're going to know what his final product is going to look like until May 4th.
- The final scene, where Spider-Man has half his mask torn off, and looks disoriented, and is finally ambushed out of nowhere by Venom looked really cool.

That was exciting. This WonderCon trailer was definitely very dark; I hope the trailer we get next week captures that.

NICE!, thanks dude. too bad I didn't get to see it. I would have really loved to have seen the DR. connors, the venom scene, and the last scene of venom grabbing spidey.

Not unless it is the trailer that will come with 300 no. Unless of course someone managed to capture it like they did the Comic Con trailer, although I doubt it.

It was an unfortunate let down out here in San Francisco at WonderCon, as the Spider-Man 3 panel consisted of one measly 2 minute trailer and no celebrity appearences at all. However, it did have a few new scenes and a bit of exciting new footage, which we have details of here!
It starts with Eddie Brock going into the church and the “I want you to kill Spider-Man” line. Very dark trailer, all about the symbiote. The Columbia logo turns to black (like black Spidey). There's a new scene with Dr. Connors (aka Lizard) with Peter and they have a small sample of the symbiote and the catch it in an upside-down beaker, and it jumps around. Connors says “it seems to like you.” Another new scene is an extended one of Spidey in his black suit webslinging through some building with subways going by with the camera following (awesome shot) and he ends up right at Sandman before it cuts. Another new line from Mary Jane: “I'm worried about you.” And another cut where Peter says “I need your help.” Near the end it has the text “a hero must fight” (from the other trailers) but then says “the venom within” instead and it cuts to Peter ripping off the symbiote in the bell tower and extended catch scene where a lot more of the symbiote falls onto Brock than just the drop. Then it shows the zooming into the mouth scene we've seen before. Then it shows the title and “May 4&#8243; and fades slowly into the last scene. Then the newest part is it shows Peter ripped up and battered, half of his Spidey suit on his face is torn off, and he's looking around the construction area, confused and beaten, and all of a sudden Venom's hands come down and grab Spidey and pull him up out of frame.

dude, that trailer was so sick. Sure it was stuff weve seen b4 pretty much, but it wwas awesome nontheless. Venom looked way more organic. and the last scene was awesome. i wish there was a panel tho...

I just think that is so cool how they talk on how much darker this movie is. That footage just sounds amazing, I do hope it is the trailer we get with 300.

The reason why I think the next trailer will be more focused on the symbiote is because the general audiance is thinking the Black suit is some kind of gimmick.

I remember my cousin after he saw the November trailer with Bond was teasing me going: "Ooo look at me I'm Spider-man I have a new suit, aren't I cool." I think most people don't understand what the suit is/what the symbiote is.

Man this week is going to suck and rule for me. Too many college mid-term tests, but this will be cool to see all this new footage.

While we are all undoubtly really excited that he has finally been shown, we aren't exploding as much as you maybe think we should be, because we haven't seen him. No pics or video. If we either A) get to see a bootleg of this trailer before Friday or B) the Firday trailer shows Venom then we will go nuts...well I will anyway

Dude, what have YOU been smoking!!!?...... You're right, it doesn't sound like a great trailer...it sounds like a tottally freaken AWESOME out-of-this-world- PSYCHO cool trailer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and bet that lots of it will be in the new trailer we're getting with 300.
