As much as people are going to have a hard time trying to understand the whole concept of the film, they’re going to have an even harder time trying to believe that a group of teenage girls (most of them look thin and frail, and we even have a Disney girl) actually capable of fending for themselves and performing all those stunts and actions as seen in the trailer……

It looks more believable and realistic to have a man displaying swordplay and firing missiles, piloting
an aircraft than a woman performing the same stunts.

Sorry, the general audience is not going to buy it. Seeing a group of teenage girls especially one dressed in Japanese school girl uniform performing all these near impossible stunts and actions in the trailer is completely….laughable


Not to mention, such female driven action chick flicks normally tends to carry strong underlying messages of feminism or simply “we hate men, we are better than men…..blah blah blah

I wouldn’t mind one or two females in this movie but to have the movie mostly made up of females when the genre is action….is just plain stupid

Strength is one of the least necessarily aspects to action movies. This is no longer the 80s. Action stars are not huge, steroid chugging mountains of testosterone any more. Just because on average, a man is physically stronger than a woman has no bearing on who can or can't be in an action movie.

In terms of realism, by your definition, women are incapable of being in the army, in the police department, fire department, etc...but check out these numbers:

over 20% of women make up military personnel
over 12% of the US's police force is comprised of women

and these numbers are only growing.

to say that action movies are for men only is a completely ridiculous, pedantic, and extremely sexist and outdated view, and speaks volumes about how you perceive women in general, outside of a simple genre of film.

No one is going to have a "hard time" accepting these women in this action movie because the vast majority of the population has grown past your neolithic views, and this will certainly not be the first females to star in action movies.

while i agree that most males here are down for seeing hot girls in skimpy outfits (as any straight man would); it only adds to the excitement that these "hot girls in skimpy outfits" are fighting and "piloting aircraft". There is little cooler in cinema than hot women who can kick ass.

Never mind the fact this is movie is a complete fantasy, again, look at the numbers i posted above. That's real life: women in Iraq, fighting terrorists, women rushing into burning buildings, women flying F-16s...all of these real life instances are fake...I totally see your point.

I really enjoyed the first one when I saw it at the cinema, it was fun, if a little derivative and obvious with the tunes set to action etc.
