seems that warner's is still hard up on making a superman/batsy movie...

does nolan and singer's superman go togther? do you even see them inhabiting the same world? I have to admit....it would be like printing money

Would you rather see a singer directed batman and superman or a nolan directed batman and superman....( i dont see nolan going near this one though)

sorry if this has been posted already or in the wrong forum.....if its old

merge Away!!!

the two most generic responses in this thread will likely be:
1. YES! THAT WOULD BE AWESOME! WOOHOOOO! SINGER UND NOLAN UBER ALLES!
2. No, they wouldn't work together well at all man, cuz, like, Nolan's world is, like, so realistic and Singer's is, like, so not. So it would be a bad idea, cuz realism and ..um... not-realism don't mesh together. Yeah.

i hope we never see batman and superman on the same screen... just keep them in there own worlds.

I think it´s gonna take a while to happen and I suspect it´s not gonna be neither Singer nor Nolan.

^ Exactly... well put, ultimatefan. I think that Singer will do Superman II (or whatever they call it) and that'll be it. As with X-Men and X2. Althought he has expressed SOME interest in doing it. If we did get a Singer-directed World's Finest, then we would most likely have a "HUSH"-Jim Lee-looking Batman.

As long as it's not a versus movie, i think it can work. Batman and Superman have no need to fight, save more maybe a minor tussle when they first meet. but the film should be a team-up, since they're both heroes. Any plot device used to make them want to fight for the whole movie will come off as nothing more than a cheap gimmick.

The movie on the whole can't possibly come off as anything other than a cheap gimmick, which is why I'm opposed to it. Plus, as others have said, Nolan and/or Singer would probably not go near a project like this, and it's doubtful if Bale would, for that matter.

I'd much rather let Nolan make as many solo Batman movies as he wants, and let Singer make as many Superman movies as he wants, and then hopefully by the time WB is ready to **** up their two major comic movie franchises by doing a gimmicky crossover stunt, it won't be interfering with the GOOD movies that I want to see.

There was rumours swirriling around that if this movie was made. That Superman would cause the death of someone that Batman loved. Then Batman would have a kryptionite stone edged somewhere in the Batcave. If you ask me, this should not happen. Making two hereos fight each other is wrong. But if they were to team up against a villain(s) then i think it would work.

Why make the movie? Why?

"Cuz WB wants money. If they think this would bring in an audience, theyll do it. Personally, I hope we never see this. The story would have to be too big to fit into 2 hours and WB is too damn cheap to throw that kinda money at this type of movie. IF it did ever get made, I would just want a team up, not a versus. Classic Lex and Joker teaming up with Bats and Supes taking them down, with a simple Worlds Finest title.

I hope they don't make a Supes vs. Bats movie.

If there's one word I never want to see in a Batman forum...it'd be "Singer."

That's funny. If there's one word I never want to see in a Batman forum, it'd be "Superman."

Singer did a great job turning a God into a relatable mortal (if only for a little while) in Superman Returns. I have no problem believing that Superman could exsist in Nolan's Bat-world. Allow a little bit of a time for Singer's Superman to stand on its own two feet, and for Nolan's Batman to truly become Batman and then talk about a World's Finest movie - not until then.

Personally I am in the camp that see's no reason in keeping any DC/WB franchises seperate as long as they are mixed in a logical, well written way.

But, when you think about it....they can still make tons of money with the characters in solo films.

I think the only way a WF movie gets made is if, suddenly, Batman can't make money on his own.....or Superman can't either. Til then, I think they'll stay alone b/c they can still be heavy weights in that way.

Sure, after 3 years of new Superman and Batman films - the hollywood appeal with of lost some of its luster. Bring in Superman v. Batman.

Don't get cute.

Thought the Batman and Superman thing was dead.. hmm... guess not...

Well.. Agreed... not Batman vs Superman.

I remember when singer stated that he would do such a film, He said he will make Batman the bad guy and Superman the good guy. I wouldn't enjoy that at all. We all know Batman is bad ass and doesn't trust anyone but making him a bad guy only implies that they would fight each other. On the otherhand I would like to see Peter Jackson directing a Batman/Superman film and for the villains I would like to see CLAYFACE and METALLO, Clayface could handle his own agains't and superman and Metallo could handle his own agaisn't batman. Then again it could work on screen but it will be very very tricky. WB should just concentrate on solo movies such as a live action Green Lantern movie or a Flash movie because honestly the only way I see a Batman and Superman movie fitting well on screen is if Joel Schumacher directed the film and Andy Dick wrote the script...

Batman and Superman CAN work on film together - very easily, given a good script. Period. The real question is whether the franchises would ever get to a point where such a film is possible. After all, right now it would be rather hard to do a Batman/Superman film with each films in the middle of telling their new triolgy. After said trilogy would the cast and crew from the new Bat/Super films be intrested in doing a 4th film? Would WB?

I wouldn't want to see Nolan's Batman meet Singer's Superman. If DC wants to do a movie that isn't a solo Batman or Superman movie, I want them to do movies based off of other Superheroes in their universe.

If there is to be a Batman vs Superman movie in the future, what you will get is Nolan's Batman and Singer's Superman. I can't wait to see this happen actually and their world's do fit. Metrolopolis was just as realistic as Gotham City.
