One way i would describe this series is just a light enjoyable read. However,if you take it too seriously, chances are you will not like it at all. But good luck to you man! I only know a few guys that read it and half don't admit it to other people.

The Anita Blake series is pretty interesting but I haven't gotten far. I heard after the 8th book though that it turns into page after page of porn.

Its decent so are the others but by no means are they AMAZING. They are written in first person which is odd not like the potter books. I hope you kinda enjoy it. I liked them all.

So far the main difference I can tell is that even though Harry Potter's characters are totally fantastic, they seem so much more real to me than Twilight's. Now, that may change as I read, but so far Twilight's characters feel very cardboard to me.
