The Amazing Spider-Man So now we've seen both, which was the best? - Part 1

Of course it's obvious he wanted to turn everyone into lizards after taking the serum. I did not argue this.

Of course it's obvious he wanted to turn everyone into lizards after taking the serum. I did not argue this.

If you looked carefully at a post made by Rise_-, then you would see I was referring to what he said:

"Does Connors want to turn everyone into monsters before he uses the serum and becomes the Lizard, or after? lol"

I think the deleted scenes made the Jekyll/Hyde thing obvious, but the theatrical cut didn't seem like it, so I think I could be thinking of the theatrical cut and how the deleted scenes handled them.

Well, maybe not the Jekyll/Hyde thing, although there is that scene where there's Connors talking to himself in his sewer lab.

Its funny, but if you listen carefully, most of the lines from the scene where Connors talks to himself are from the deleted scenes.

"Would you give it up? All the... POWER you feel?"
"There will be no more loneliness, no more outcasts, species wide distribution..."
"That, changing like the snake, I might be free/ To cast off flesh wherein I dwell confined!"

Well, maybe not the Jekyll/Hyde thing, although there is that scene where there's Connors talking to himself in his sewer lab.

True, but that's one thing whereas the deleted scenes really pushed for the Jekyll/Hyde parallel.

I really liked the deleted scene where Connors is sitting in the sewers, and begins to panic about how Peter is going to stop him. A split second of that deleted scene was used for when Connors is showing his split personality.

Was this going to be what happened? If so, this is interesting...but why bring up Connors knowing his father, when this has already been acknowledged earlier in the film?

There's more dialogue if you watch the pre-vis

Basically The Lizard throws him towards the bookshelf and them walks in towards him to finish him off.Spidey realizes that there is no sense in beating each other up to a pulp,he tries to call out to Connors by mentioning his Father and other things,it works and Connors starts to turn back and runs towards the washroom and Peter finds him there

I think it would have a really beautiful scene, shame they didnt film it for some reason

If there is more dialogue and Peter just starts off with Connors knowing his father, then that would be fine, imo.

I really enjoy Webb's Spider-Man but I do think that Rami's is told a little bit better. It's funny, I have a hard time deciding which of the two I like better.

I don't want to compare them was what I'd pick off the pole.

I think they both have their pros and cons. I think Raimi's was more fun, but Webb's film is told a lot better.

Yep the fans demanded Venom in SM3 even though we saw Harry finding the Goblin's lair in SM2 and Raimi hated Venom. So fans are to blame for cramming more villains in,and cramming in a villain that the director hated.

And fans cried about the Goblin costume,so we get a snowboard/paintball costume instead.

Fans screwed the Raimi spider-man,they killed SM4.
If SM3 had just been the symbiote and Harry as the Hobgoblin instead of snowboard goblin and saved Venom to be the only villian in SM4 then the Raimi series would still be going on. The reason SM3 failed hard is like you said, Raimi hated Venom but the people behind the movie forced him to include Venom due to his popularity among the fans and thus Venom was not going to be given justice from the start. I know the people working on TAS-M don't want to follow Raimi's series but I really feel if any villian should be given and deserves a second version of himself it is Venom. You can't make the arguement that he simply isn't movie material when the director didn't even like him to begin with.

Venom will definitely be on screen again. Its Venom after all. He wasn't given justice in SM3, and that's just not fair. Its just a matter of when?

Oh yah, Venom will definitely be seen again. Just as how Nolan brought Bane back and did the villain extraordinarily well, a director(might be Webb, might not) will use Venom again and do him valuable justice.

I don't think we will see him in this trilogy, but probably afterwards. Has there been any more talks about a Venom film?

One thing I'm noticing about the Raimi series is how MJ drove the series in a way. Think about it, Peter gets bitten because he is trying to flirt with MJ. He wrestles so that he can win money to buy a car so that he can impress her. In SM2 he wanted to be with her and he lost his powers for it. In SM3 he has what he wants and is completely lost when she breaks up w/ him. Last scene is them holding hands. If MJ had died, Tobey's PP would have surely gone into depression. Not nitpickng, just observing.

"This story is all about a girl. That one. Mary Jane Watson."

Count all the time he's maskless in Raimi trilogy and I dont think it would exceed TASM's

First time he tests his power,Do you expect him to make a costume before that?
In SM2,he already threw it away and didnt even knew whether his powers were back or not,so it didnt make sense for him to wear a costume

It bothered me during the train scene and in SM3 when he was standing on top a building maskless at that festival.Thats 2 in 3 movies

Dont get me started on TASM's maskless scenes

Yes, he should have disguised himself on both counts. He didn't necessarily have to wear a costume, but a ski mask or something similar. Any rational person would know that web-slinging and jumping off buildings would attract attention. Someone like Peter, who's especially intelligent, would be aware that one photo or even an eye witness could nix his plans before they began.

I feel the same way about some of the superhuman feats in ASM. Even Michael Jordan in his prime couldn't sail from half court and dunk a ball over with his entire body over the rim. There isn't a kicker in NFL history who could kick a ball hard enough to bend a goal post. Yet Peter does this in front of crowds without raising suspicions?

In the final movie they at least cut the part where the coach comes up to him and asks him to play football. So we just assume no one looked at him when he threw the football.

Just pitching in here:
I think ASM was better than SM1, but not as good as SM2.
