So...remember that Cap America vs Wolverine thread?

Horrorfan said:
I say he won because he had hulk down and out with his guts splayed over the floor.....usually indictive of a winner, and clearly the most memorable thing about that fight.

Yes it is the most memorable thing. So what? I fail to see the relevance.

Also you're using the phrase down and out incorrectly if the hulk was down and out the fight WOULDN'T HAVE CONTINUED. Again I put this in caps because you seem intent on ignoring it.

Think of it as a boxing match....if boxer a knocks boxer b down in a round, even if boxer b gets in a few good jabs, who do you think the judges will give the round too?

Wolverine wins on points if anything and damage done.

A completely irrelevant analogy. You're judging a fight by the rules of a sport because its combat based, not because it is a logical analogy.

Heck I'll counter with an irrelevant analogy of my own.

The fight was over who was the most grey.

The grey hulk is grey therefore he won that fight.

Wow, it's nice to sit back and watch gildea argue on the few occasions I'm actually not opposing him. :)

Yes, gildea and I have been agreeing more than disagreeing lately. Scary.

Thats not true.

(really really sorry)

(really I am)

You know what would be great? If they took Captain America, Wolverine, Spiderman, Superman, Batman (with prep-time) and Flash and combined them into one character.

I say this would be great cause it would combine all the fanboy favorites into one, condensing all the bias in comicdom into on giant singularity which would collapse on itself and destroy all these GODDAMN FANBOYS!!

But even then they still wouldn't be able to beat the Hulk according to SmashSuperman...

Yeah, you'd have to throw the Hulk in there, too. Those Hulk fanboys are some of the most vocal.

Also, some of the most cracked and annoying.

heh yeah. forgot the hulk. sorry. throw him in there too

So, basically, your ultimate character would be a patriotic, wise-cracking, anti-social, super-fast, green midget with a bright red cape?

yes. and his superpower is that he causes the higher powers of the universe to be unfathomably biased in his favor.

So much so that TOAA and the LT and such re-write reality in his favor, turning the concept of "awesomeness" into an energy source which the character can draw upon to do 100 billion times more than anything imaginable at will.

And his name would be Floyd

Ok then: wolverine killed the hulk in what if?. I know some people dont count that but to me it clearly shows that he is more than capable of beating hulk. Then there is the fight as death where he only barely stops himself from killing hulk.. then, in that grey hulk fight, even if you wont admit he won, you cant say he really lost either.

The point is, he can hang with the hulk. Yes, I know it hurts to admit to yourself, but you'll recover:o

Where did this happen? Say it out loud, there we go, do you understand now?

Here's the thing....most what if's? are basically the 616 universe just with a slight shift in events. For the most part, the characters are identical in powers and personalities, and just certain events happen differently.

Plus, they are hardly going to kill off regular hulk are they? Can you imagine the unendurable *****ing that would happen? I mean the one time wolvie was about to finish hulk once and for all as death, they had him stop (even though it was the same method he used to kill hulk in WI?).

So really, what if's are the only place you will ever see true to the death hero to hero fights.

Why is it so hard for you to accept wolverine can hang with hulk? Is it that much of a problem for you to accept that?

Yes. Logic dictates I MUST find a problem with that.

LOL Yet logic has no problem with a guy standing in the middle of an atomic blast (gamma blast, sorry) and getting superpowers. (Now tell me how logic in comics has degrees.....we have had all the other cliche excuses so now its time for that one).

You know what? It's obvious no amount of evidence is going to help here. So you wolverine haters continue.....I'm cool in the knowledge that wolverine has defeated hulk, so its up to you to come to terms with it. Or not, its your choice. It wont make a difference that it happened, but maybe you wouldnt be so bitter. :)

Logic has no degrees. But I'll say it because you want me to.

"Logic" has several degrees, especially in comics. It's far more likely that an untested energy weapon might alter the DNA of it's recipient, and bend it into something else.

However, no matter how much "logic" you use, one foot blades aren't going to kill someone with a healing factor better than Wolverine's with more strength, endurance, and overall raw power. Wolverine's like the 85 pound leukemia kid going head to head against Lennox Luis.

He's using a What if? as proof.....Im sure I can find a What if? where Aunt May beats Galactus...that doesnt mean it's really gonna happen

I won't admit he won BECAUSE HE DIDN'T. The only person with an admission problem over this fight is YOU because you seem intent on IGNORING the majority of it.

I didn't say he lost either. I said they were seperated.

I don't think I've said that he can't "hang" with the hulk in this thread. The only thing i've debated is your ridculous notions regarding the fight written by PAD.

Given that he has fought the hulk several times it would be rather silly of me to say he can't "hang" with him. Of course my definition of "hang" probably differs substantially from yours.

Find me that what if? where aunt may beats galactus then.

You don't seem to understand that it deals with events that actually happened in the MU, just with the slightest change in fortune, It never really does anything outragous like you suggested. But I do challenge you to find that issue. I would like to see it for a laugh if anything else.

Logic by any degree says that absorbing tonnes of radiation won't turn you into an unstoppable monster, too.

Holy.....crap.

That left me speecheless for about thirty seconds.

Whoever even thought of that idea needs to NEVER be allowed to write anything again, ever, in history.
