So I guess that it has come to that time in my life.....my hair is kinda thinning, and I really don't want it to...

So I was wondering if anyone used Rogain or the Rogain Foam or any of those other products and if they actually worked....I'm not trying to regrow any new hair or anything (not yet) I'm just hoping to slow the loss of my natural hair.

Also I'm generally one of those guys that likes to keep things in the natural order ond nature blah blah blah and all that....but I just don't wanna lose my hair.

If I were to ever start going bald I would shave it all off....no in between...either I have hair or I don't....

There's no harm in trying it, but you should see a dermatologist first. You don't need to buy the name brand. Go to Sam's Club or Costco, and buy their "Member's Mark" Minoxidil 5%...it's the same formula, but at half the cost. I think you get a 4 month supply for $20 compared to rogaine's $55-60.

Steps to use if are pretty simple: 2x per day everyday and you won't notice hair growth until around the 4 month mark (most likely 6-8). It takes 2 months to reactivate the follicles, so this is a long process. In the first 2 weeks you WILL notice an increase in hair loss...NOTHING significant or dangerous...just a small jump that will stop.

Don't start Propecia until you've tried Rogaine for 4 months...if the hair loss continues then make an appointment with a dermatologist so that he can prescribe it for you.

Roughneck, I think this crowd is a little young for your question! :o

I suggest you join here. :cwink:

young people can lose hair.....it's been known to haoppen in the 20s..

I'm 21 and balding. It can definately happen in your twenties.

me?

But anyway, Chicks never lose thier hair young....but lemme tell you, I have seen some chrome Domie old ladies.

I am 23, I have noticably thinning hair, and I have resolved NOT to use any products to combat this. I think a pharmecuticals industry that is more interested in getting people laid than curing cancer is not something I want to encourage.

No, sorry. :csad:

Some chicks do. :o

My grandmothers and great-grandmothers all died with full heads of hair.

Haha... you sound like an infomercial! :o

Yeah, you're right. but it does not invalidate my point. and if you agree with me you too can own your ow No-Prize, for the low, low price of $0 and 0c. That's right. Nothing! your very own No-Prize, for nothing!

What type of hair loss do you have? If you have a receding hairline...then you're out of luck. It only works for balding in the top of the scalp.

Myself...I like to wear a dead cat on my head. It smells great.

Stay the hell away from Propecia. That **** is dangerous: www.propeciasideeffects.com

I know people who have been seriously damaged from that stuff. The pharmaceutical industry is hiding the info on that one.

:cmad:

I have all my hair though. :oldrazz: And most of my teeth. :woot:

And I'm not 'your' lady. My heart belongs to another. :o

He can keep it. :meow:

Secondly, my dear (and I mean that as a term of respect...so, don't flatter yourself :cwink: ) I have all my hair (teeth and BOTH my testicles thank you very much), but med students need to know this kinda crap!

I understand your sentiment but you're using a bad analogy. Both cancer and hairloss are being studied (and cancer has way more funding) because BOTH can occur in rich people, hence pharmaceutical research is validated because there is a profit to be made. It's the so-called "Orphan diseases" that don't get funding or attention from the private market. These are usually studied by Universities on governmental aid.

Given that I did cancer research for 3 years it has a LOT of funding.

And Viagra was discovered by mistake and it turned a profit.

So, go get you some rogaine!
