So What bad things can LSD do to a person??

If you do TOO MUCH acid.

If you eat too many cheesburgers you'll get a heart attack. That doesn't mean to tell kids to never try a cheeseburger.

wrong...actually you can be declared legally insane after taking it once, it changes pathways in your brain permanently. Also how old are you, flashbacks can take up to like...30 years to come back and bite you...

Most of the **** you hear is absolute bull, for example the whole spine thing, it also disolves out of your system within 3-4 hours of taking it. Having a bad trip is extremely hard as well, do not take it though if your family has a history of mental disorders or if you are depressed, etc or on other medication of that nature. One thing to note is that it's completely different that what you'd expect, and I suggest taking half-tab unless you know the source since it might be really powerful or not really... It really depends on the source...

EDIT: Disclaimer, all drugs have side-effects, you take them at your own risk....

Isn't that only if schitzofrenia runs in your family?

growing 'shrooms = cheap as chips!

A friend of mine did that once, some people took it, many couldn't handle it, one ended up naked in his basement curled in a ball talking to his dead grandfather all night.

As for acid, I did it a bunch of times in college, haven't noticed any side-effects other than funny stories.

well i'm kinda concerned since some of my friends are doing this ****, but they keep saying it cant hurt you, so i was wondering in your input, what are some of the bad stuff that can happen to you when you do crap like LSD?

where the hell do kids get this stuff............ :o

You should be concerned. LSD is one of the most intensely psychoactive drugs ever invented. It binds to the GPC receptors in the brain and it's effects are wide ranging. Even small amounts can be destructive or even lethal. Moreover, the effects/dangers are usually cumulative.
If your friends think it can't hurt them, they are in for a severe ( or deadly ) shock. The physical effects aren't as bad as the psychological but they can include rapid heat rate, unsafe blood pressure increase, muscle cramps and gradual muscle deterioration, gradual breaking down of tendons, severe insomnia and tremors.
As for the mental effects, they are legion. LSD can cause permanent personality shifts. It can diminish cognitive abilities and overall perception. It can damage the nervous system. It efects vary greatly from person to person but they are always negative.
Lastly, I'll give you a real life case. Several years ago, I knew a girl who was a former LSD user. She was only twenty and had been off LSD for over two years. Nonetheless, it had caused irreparable damage. She couldn't look at a pattern ( like a dish towel or wall paper ) without feeling a sense of sheer terror. She had almost no sex drive. She could barely feel pain which led her to a severe burn because she didn't realize it was happening.
Ask your buddies if this sounds like fun?:whatever:

I once knew a guy who got a permanent brain damage for taking a bad LSD pill some 30 years ago. I decided i care too much for my brain to risk.

Meh, I figure I'm so messed up, any side effects would be positive.

Stop telling people about all the negative side effects from drugs. I need more people to laugh at when they are having flashbacks 10 years from now, thinking that their eyes are bleeding or some ****. Its hilarious, and what more, its ok to laugh at them because usually its all their fault. I need more entertainment like that in the world. Thank god the war on drugs will never be won.

"Isn't it funny how it's always a scare story when it comes to drugs. Not once have I ever heard a positive drugs story on the news. Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is mearly energy condensed through a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, life is only a dream and we are the imaginations of ourselves. Here's Tom with the weather."

- Bill Hicks

"If you don't believe drugs have done good things for us, then go home and burn all your records, all your tapes, and all your CDs because every one of those artists who have made brilliant music and enhanced your lives? RrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrEAL f**king high on drugs."

- Bill Hicks (funnily enough)

You know i'm inclined to agree with him.

damn I was going to post that Bill Hicks quote. nice job Rambo.

Pffft.. You know it!! Never done acid, but have done shrooms a number of times and have never once had anything other than a positive, life affirming experience.

I think the scare stories come from people who take drugs excessively. And my view on that (which again mirrors that of Bill) good f**king riddance. If you're too stupid to realise what excessive intake (of anything - not just drugs, mind) will do to your body then humanity doesn't really need you.

It's like making cars illegal simply because a small percentage were in horrible car accidents. :whatever:

For every freak-horror story there's probably 20 wonderfully, awesome drug experiences. Those are chances I'm willing to take.

Exactly. Funny how in the UK and US (where acid/ shrooms/ marijuana etc are all illegal) drug abuse is a major problem. In the good old Netherlands - not so much.

It's so true. Everyone who thinks the legalization of drugs would result in widespread anarchy needs to go to Amsterdam and wake the f**k up!

I've took acid about 30-45 times. I've done every drug except heroin and mescaline. And I'm as normal as anybody else.

I'd be more concerned over the quality of the stuff you'd be taking rather than the drug itself. Because it is illegal there are no oversight controls as to its manufacture. You can thank our government for that. Acid is strong stuff and shouldn't be done for recreation. It demands respect and a thoughtful approach. Depending on the dosage (which has lessened over the years), set and setting and the frame of mind of the user at the time of taking it, the trip can be pleasant or terrifying. This isn't something to be taken lightly nor is it intended to be done in frivolous a manner. Dr. Albert Hoffman, who discovered LSD and who tripped many times cites its spiritual side and how it can transform human experience in a positive way. Dr. Humphrey Osmond was a pioneer in using LSD on himself and his staff of psychiatrists so they would better understand the plight of their schizophrenia patients and acid was used with much success to break the addiction to alcohol and other self-damaging behaviors. In the sense that the experience is remembered and can be life-altering then, yes, it does stay with you, but all this scary talk about flashbacks and the rest is complete nonsense. As with any powerful drug it should never be abused. If you’re in doubt, try mushrooms. Another popular and LEGAL alternative is the sage Salvia Divinorum. Plenty of info is available on the Internet. This has to be smoked rather than ingested. Whatever you decide, do this stuff with people you can trust and choose a safe, comfortable place with pleasant stimuli. Acid has the potential to break the control mechanisms imposed upon us by society, institutions, religions and organizations. That’s why it’s illegal. Every culture in the world has indulged in some sort of conscious-altering experience in order to connect to something greater and more intimate than what is provided through everyday life. LSD is just one of many such tools. Read up on Hoffman who is still alive at 99 years old. A remarkable man and no crackpot. Other innovative thinkers who tripped and lived to tell about it include Osmond, Aldous Huxley, Robert Anton Wilson, and John Lily.

Seriously Acid is bacK?
This stuff took a vacation while Ectascy showed up (and ectascy kills, killed a good friend of mine, with whom I dropped a ton of acid with). I never quit acid, it just kinda disappeared on me.

I don't think anybody sells it in my town, though.
Very bad idea. I guarantee you'll have a bad trip ('cause of your environment) and you'll probably start hurling yourself through windows, thinking you've turned into a sledge hammer. :(

Actually, that sounds cool.

But yeah, I'd imagine I'd have a bad trip..
