Personally, I think the Nick Fury cameo at the end is perfect for a segway into a Avengers spin off, but let The Avenger Initiative be a subplot for II. I'd like to see him take on The Mandarin. And please, just one villain. If you want a more character driven flick, let Rhodey get into the War Machine armor.

Id like to see Pepper develop a relationship with Happy, as well as Stark suffer from alcoholism (let's face it, RDJ should be able to use past experiences to get into character for this one).

Well I think the alcoholism should be in the film definitely, I'd like to see a cool rendition of the Crimson Dynamo more than the Mandarin, mainly because of the magic involved.

Maybe a hostile takeover of Stark's company.

Mostly, I want to see more fight scenes involving the armor.

I agree alcholism should be explored more, as well as Mandarin. I could see more action, fights between villians like Spymaster, Ghost, Blacklash hired by Justin Hammer.

I can almost say for a fact that the Mandarin will be the foe,he has to be. People need to know who Iron Man's main foe is.

definately:

* the ten rings and the Mandarin
* how stark handle all the attention that everyone knows he's iron man
* some talk about The Avenger Initiative

I kind of think that alcoholism is too heavy a topic to follow up Iron Man with. One of the most notable things about Iron Man is it's light and fun tone. I think Tony Stark dealing with celebrity and the perhaps shortsighted outing of his secret identity are plenty for the second film, without risking spoiling the tone of the series.

No, alcoholism isn't that heavy a topic. Plenty of movies have involved alcoholism. It's a popular subplot in many TV shows.

Enjoy Iron Man for what it was, but let the character be developed. Iron Man didn't really have a light tone. It just feels that way because of the aftertaste of RDJ. There were a lot of serious scenes.

I think his problem with alcohol would be a good thing to set up in the second movie, only to have it become a real problem in a third movie. That way, you have a following already, so the audience wouldn't be put off by it. It would be easier for people to swallow (for those who don't know the story already) if they can see it coming.

agreed

Mandarin and the Ten Rings and MORE Red and Gold armor action

Leave the alcohol for the 3rd part. We barely got to see any Mk 3 action in the first one, we don't need to see a repeat of that again.

I doubt that they will left the alcoholism and War Machine out of this.
the alcoholism would be in the first film, but they said that would be better to just show the character first.
and they have to worry to make the sequel bigger and better. the action will be there.

Maybe a hostile takeover of Stark's company.
That sort of happened in the first one.

Alcoholism is something that a lot of the big guys, like the director and RDJ want to see, so it's gonna happen. And I hope it does!

I'm not sure if I want a 'dumbed-down' Mandarin that is realistic rather than a wizard, but China does seem to be a hot-topic country right now, more so than Russia. Not sure how Crimson Dynamo could be made to be a modern enemy of Stark's.

If War Machine's in it, then maybe we don't need a central supervillain from the comics. I thought the best IM comics were about him fighting military juantas personally.

This is a very nice idea. In fact, it would be interesting if the whole film was like Demon in a Bottle where Tony's business, love life, friendships and everything else started going downhill. And throughout the story, Ton is drinking more and more. And at the end its made clear that its become a problem after Iron Man saves the day and Tony's problems are still there.

Maybe they wont make it. Maybe they'll use Iron Man 2 to lead in for Avengers 2? Might be a good idea

I'd say leave Mandarin for the third film. If it's going to be a trilogy, go out with a bang and save the best bad guy for last.

As far as the second film goes, I'd like to see Tony begin to struggle with alcoholism. Could be for any number of reasons - Pepper beginning a relationship with Happy, post-traumatic stress from his being held captive in a cave, trouble with his company, his own fame and popularity going to his head, etc. It might be cool to see him get all liquored up, and then get called into action because the bad guy is causing trouble, and then Iron Man ends up doing even more damage because he's drunk. At which point, Rhodey would step in and say, "Tony, you're not going to be Iron Man again until you stop drinking." and then Rhodey puts on the War Machine gear and gets into action. Hell, if that's how the movie ended, with a sort of "Empire Strikes Back" feel, it leaves the third movie for Tony to redeem himself.

So pretty much wait another 4-5 years to have a full on Iron Man movie where he wears the Red and Gold through out the movie?

No thanks, him using the Mark III for a whole 10 minutes in the first one and maybe even less in the second one because people want him to be a drunkard will seriously suck donkey balls.

Mandarin is gonna be in it. who do you think was the leader of the terrorist group?

there was this guy in the movie"rising son' and "art of war" with wesly snipes that could be the choice....un less the mandarin's gotta be younger.

For real, folks seem to want the Demon in a Bottle:huh:, It was a great arc, but Armor Wars is still the best IMO

2nd film should have...stolen tech and the fight to get it back, throw in Stilt Man for a laugh:oldrazz: and some larger threats maybe a working Iron Monger.

More man in suit action, definatly...If our template is the upgrade from X-1 and Spidey 1 to the part 2's of both...damn this movie will crush for sure.
