god, we have no idea what the context of any of these scenes are!!

lighten up about stuff being stupid before you know what you're talking about.

"Spider-Man Appreciation Day" sounds like the franchise jumping the shark.

It's kinda like how Batman was dark and mysterious in the first three movies, then suddenly he's making a guest appearance at some charity dinner in Batman & Robin.

All they need to have now is the ****ing Spider-Mobile and the movie has officially crapped its pants.
I think its just another thing that will lead to Peter becoming more cocky and full of himself, something thats been prophesized, in a manner of speaking. All those people gathering to appreciate the work of one person could give a guy a pretty big head...

WOW!!! Thats amazing. Someone who wasn't lying on this board.

I hope Spidey's in the black suit on the appreciation day scene. that'd be a nice opportunity for dark spidey to be a real dick to people.

Mayor: "In honor of your corage, we the city of New York would like to give you this key to the city"

Spidey: "Oh really? Well in honor of your generosity, I'd like to say UP YOURS PAL!" *web to the face!*

I highly doubt he will be, seeing as he is in his red and blue costume on that set

Yeah, but I hardly glanced at those set pics. "Woohoo, balloons!... Ok, now where's me some Venom?"

i wasn't talking about a scene. i was talking about an idea. the idea of sandman being the one who killed uncle ben is stupid. it is a stupid idea no matter what the context is.

I work for a Market Research company and we recieved new trailers for "SM3" never before seen at comic-con or in theaters.

In the first part it confirmed that Flint Marko is indeed Uncle Ben's killer. Peter and Aunt May are called into the precinct and Peter gets a glimpse of his picture. Peter storms out of the precinct pissed off screaming asking what appears to be Captain Stacy, "He's still out there and you didn't do a thing about it?"

Then the trailer cuts to how Flint escaped, ends up at a radiation plant, and then the animatic was hard to make out but he starts transforming into the Sandman. He looks at his fingers and they start perspiring into dusks of sand, before reappearing in front of his eyes.

Next it cut to Peter and MJ on a web cuddled up close and making out. Peter is ready to propose to her and things look great, till he starts flirting with Gwen, recieves the new suit and feels top of the world.

Then the trailer cut to Spider-Man Appreciation Day and shots of Spidey swinging around, leaping and jumping tall buildings, and doing his pose by an American flag, but then...

Harry comes up right behind Peter Parker as we saw in the theatrical trailer. His mask is a retractable, collapsable mask, and he shows his face and says, "You knew this day would come..." and flings pumpkin bombs, rockets, and razor bats at him.

Then, the trailer cuts to MJ and how she wonders why Peter and Harry don't get along.

Then, next it showed Spidey in the black suit being followed by Brock. Brock starts teasing him, snapping pictures, Spider-Man then grabs the camera, and smashes it against a wall.

After that it cuts to Brock teasing Peter before Peter grabs him by his shirt collar and pushes him against a wall angrily.

Cuts to MJ wondering what has gotten into Peter and he says, "I don't know but I got to stop it..." and then it shows the infamous Comic-Con fight between Spider-Man and Sandman and he asks him, "Do you remember the name Ben Parker?" and Sandman tells him to, "Stay out of this kid..."

Lastly the infamous Venom shot is revealed and it cuts to "3."

It was amazing guys I'm telling you and it just confirms alot of the stuff that was on the boards.

HA HA HA. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . The guy was actually telling the truth the entire time....Anyone remember this guy's screen name?

well, remember folks.....Bryan Singer kept telling us before Superman Returns came out that Jason was LOIS AND RICHARD'S KID.......LOIS AND RICHARD'S KID.......LOIS AND RICHARD'S KID..........and we know how that turned out.......

so, just because Raimi has said Sandy is Ben's killer, and we've seen bits from a trailer to suggest that, it doesn't mean that will be the case when all is said and done.

It could be that Sandy is falsely accused of being the killer, and Spidey pursues him under this faulty assumption, just as Harry pursues Spidey under the false assumption that Spidey killed Norman.....

super-bats - sandman is framed by EDDIE BROCK the entire movie! that would be golden....then sandman and spidey have to team up against Harry and Venom??? Whao...

Man, that plot would make sense too, anything could happen in this film. So many twists and turns.

I dont think that the answer to the million dollar question -who really killed uncle Ben?- will be answered until we see the film!!! It's propobly one of the big twists and turns, like Maguire said there would be many of in this film!... If you ask me, Sandman did NOT kill Ben Parker... The whole movie we are let to believe that Sandman was the original killer. The symbiote blinds Peter's judgment more and more as the film progresses, and even though the true answer is right in front of Peter during the end, it's too late! The symbiote has got him and he refuses to realize the truth (whatever it'll be!). He just knows that someone WILL pay!

The robber from spidey 1 DID kill Ben! Sandman might have got something to do with it, but he didn't pull the trigger.. We will learn this in spidey 3, I'm sure of it... I just dont see Raimi completely changing the ways of the comics, when in fact he's so dedicated to make the films as close to the comics origins as possible... Changing Uncle Ben's original killer out with Sandman would be a big no no.. I believe that Raimi wouldn't do this. The question is, do you?

yah....that's what I'm thinking....and hoping. god.....i can't wait for this movie...........

Yeah, I agree with you guys, Sandman killing Ben kind of ruins the whole idea of the comic. The reason why spider-man is spider-man is because of this incident in his life where Ben dies because Peter was responsible. Sandman killing Ben would turn it into a Revenge Movie, ala Batman 1989, imo.

I really like the idea of Eddie Brock making up the story of Sandman killing Ben and fools Spidey into fighting Sandman. And then after Spidey ****s up Sandman killing him ala black suit, venom enters.

That would be cool.

That HAS to be the most clever answer I've seen in this thread!!!! Very VERY good indeed.. and it would make a hell of a lifes-lession for Peter Parker! I would absolutely LOVE if this was the case!;) Good job! You really are SUPER-bats!

whichever way you cut it, ben's death was peter's fault. it doesn't matter who his killer was. so you can't bring that bull**** in here about him not becoming spider-man

yeah, but ti's more petre's fault if the original guy did it, coz peter let him escape.

EXACTLY!!! and that's the truth.. they shouldn't mess with that seeing how that was so beautifully displayed in the film, and is straight out of the comics... Sandman beeing the killer would interfere with that in an exstreme way, and I just dont see Raimi doing it! But I'll buy and bet that the robber that shot Ben was working for Sandman though.

i seem to remember a whil back (before any of the trailers) that there was a picture of sandman holding Uncle ben up against a wall, about to kill him.
At the time I thought it was fake, but after the trailer i relised it was real.
Dose anyone know where th epicture would be?

does this mean that when peter confronted the wrestling match thief who he'd THOUGHT carjacked and killed uncle ben he done so for the wrong reason and caused him to fall to his death for a crime he DIDN'T COMMIT?

does this mean that when peter confronted the wrestling match thief who he'd THOUGHT carjacked and killed uncle ben he done so for the wrong reason and caused him to fall to his death for a crime he DIDN'T COMMIT?

That seems to be whats going on here, and i am gutted Raimi has chose to go down this route, he captured the origins of Spidey perfectly in 1, why mess with it now.

that's why I don't think ( and I hope ) Raimi doesn't go that route.

as you say, that would mess with the origin too much, and actually take away from that singular, tragic, and pivotal moment in Peter's life.

The fact that Peter let the very guy go who would be responsible for his uncle's death, is so ingrained into the mythos, that changing it would be akin to blasphemy. I mean, that action IS WHAT CREATED SPIDER-MAN!!

That's why I still think we ( and Peter ) are LED TO BELIEVE that Sandy is the real killer, only to find out later that he is innocent of the crime.

on, and for the record, I don't think I'm the only one to think of the parallels between Peter falsely accusing Sandy and Harry falsely accusing Peter. I believe that others here have mentioned that scenario before.

so.....naite22......I may be super....but I'm not THAT super..........lol.
