Reminds of the ninja turtles where the first film had no merch but the second film did.

Complete and utter lack of respect for Colleen O'Shaughnessey not putting her name on the poster. Disappointing.

This is how it’s worked for a while. Big celebrity names are billed based on box office draw and/or popularity. They only have a limited amount of space for how many names can fit on the poster, and as talented as she is, in terms of popularity and marketability, she’s not even in the same league. Most regular people don’t even know who she is. A lot of people know who James Marsden and Idris Elba are. If Coleen got a credit according to how popular she is, she’d be at the very bottom. Hell, Tika Sumpter, who was in the first film and is more known than Colleen, isn’t even given top billing.

Also, all of the actors credited have played roles in live action properties. If this was animated, it’d probably be a different story.

It sucks, and it would be nice if she had at least some small credit on the poster, but that’s just how it works. Pretty sure the actual stylized movie credits at the end will acknowledge her.

I'm sure she's just happy she got to keep her job from the first movie and the studio didn't pull a classic Hollywood move of replacing her with a bigger name.

Just because it works this way doesn't mean it should. You know how things used to work in Hollywood? That doesn't make it OK. And that doesn't mean it shouldn't change.

It's terrible and should change. It's a self-defeating prophecy.

OK that doesn't mean she shouldn't get billing or named on a poster. Ben Schwartz isn't a big name or star either. But his name is on the poster.

Well, I guess he has a better agent.

If it’s any consolation, I don’t like it either, and I agree with you. There are quite a few voice actors for their great performances, I would like to see be recognized and acknowledged as much as, maybe even more than, regular actors. Some I regard more than the latter.

If you feel that strongly about it, maybe you should start a new thread in this section. I’m sure there would definitely be a ton of people, myself included, on this board who agree with you and would love to chime in on the topic.

Anyways, back to Sonic.

It seemed more sense to bring it up here since it was related to the movie, and I was pointing out she got snubbed on the poster.

Most of the time Hollywood doesn't respect actual voice actors, that much has been made clear a long time ago. Unfortunately that's not changing anytime soon.

Heck, just take a look at the Lionsgate Pinocchio and new Chip and Dale movies to see the worst recent examples of celebrity voice acting.

Should we accept the world as it is or dare to see what it could be?

* Sonic grossed $70 mil on the 4 Day Presidents weekend in 2020*

I'm thinking AT LEAST $75 mil for Sonic 2 its opening weekend. I honestly think it could crack $90 mil.
