Sonic the Hedgehog 2

Just came back from an early Fan screening event . This film was awesome, an absolute delight and tribute to the classic Sega Genesis era series. Sonic was fantastic, Knuckles was straight up badass, Tails was lovable and Robotnic was insane.... I laughed, cheered and had a wonderful time with a group of Sonic fans. Definitely going to see this a couple more times in theaters starting Tomorrow and Friday night

There's just a lot to love if you're a Sonic fan, I think. The movie could be a little over the top and goofy, but it's a Sonic movie, so you kinda expect it in a sense. I really can't wait for Sonic 3!

If Jim Carrey officially retires, it's gonna be a bit of a bummer. I'd love to see him back as Eggman again. Maybe even in the fat suit lol. I think I recall he wanted to wear a fat suit for Eggman in this movie too.

I sure did, it was just buried under the posters lol! They were kinda being stingy about giving me both posters. My wife was with me, so he was like "one for you and one for her?" And I was like "....Yeahhhhh" lol.

I can't wait to see how the story unfolds with Shadow. His character/story is much darker than everyone else. Also totally down for Keanu Reeves voicing him.

And yes, The Mecha-Eggman was DOPE!
 
Just got back, loved it also, Tails was great, Knuckles was even greater and Sonic stepped up big time, especially in the finale! Really good stuff and so many cool little nods also, like Knuckles climbing a cliff and an air bubble. Really good stuff and an improvement over the first movie for sure.

That final battle was just glorious. But I loved the Sonic vs Knuckles fights also, really show cased their powers well. Fowler did well here’s, looking forward to the 3rd movie.
 
Wow the little 90's kid in me is so happy right now guys because I was pretty much grinning ear to ear the entire time, I was watching this, especially during the finale and the after credits scene.

Sure, it isn't all perfect and I can understand how some aren't going to be big fans of all the human stuff, but it honestly didn't bother in this movie unlike some of the later Transformers movies which I do find pretty grating when it comes to the comedic relief but this was more harmless than anything IMO.

Knuckles and Tails were such great additions here and Idris Elba really brought his A game to this role, and I hope he sticks around for as long as possible because I really look forward to seeing more of him down the line.

I'm also going to be really bummed out if this is going to be the last time we see Jim Carrey as Robotnik, because as far as I am concerned the man is Dr. Robotnik.

Loved it and would give a really solid 8/10 score.
 
Glad to hear more of you liking it the positive word of mouth is great for box office potential. The effort put forth by the creative team deserves to be rewarded

Sonic the hedgehog works as a movie but not assassins creed. Go figure

Man I agree, I felt like an 8 year old kid watching this movie (just hit 30) so feeling that way for most of this movie just made me love it more. The audience I was with was full of young kids & adults, clapping & laughing throughout. And the end credit scene definitely got a pop from everyone.

It was on par, if not slightly better than the first one. I don't think I had as much fun with the sequel for whatever reason, but still a good time. Sonic was even better while Tails and Knuckles were great additions. Carrey was a little much for me at times too but that just comes with the territory.

Looking forward to the third movie!

I can actually agree with you about Jim Carrey being a little much at times, most of the time it's cool, but there were a few jokes there were just a little too over the top that don't really land, at least for me.

But all the Sonic/Knuckles/Tails stuff was just awesome to me. Love how much lore they used. The first one kinds tip toed around it, this one felt like they dived into it. Hope to see more of it explored in 3!
 
Yes, please bring on Sonic 3 as soon as possible and while it might not be saying much this really felt like such a breath of fresh air compared to some of the recent crappy videogame adaptations, we have been getting in particular Mortal Kombat 2021 and Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City.

It honestly amazes me how they pretty much did a seamless job combining so many elements and lore from the games and yet the people behind Welcome to Raccoon City struggled miserably even doing that.

I'm glad there are still some talented enough people out there in Hollywood who are able to make a quality videogame movie and hopefully we get more of them after this.
 
Watching the movie next Tuesday but based on the reactions, and I liked the first one, seems like its a positive for Video Game movies...but jfc how hard is it to make a good Video Game adaptation?

Halo is also pretty decent and Castlevania was entertaining but they were shows, maybe shows are the way to go with VG properties?
 
Just saw the movie tonight opening night got out of movie about 2 hours ago. Pretty good movie think I like the first movie a little bit more. Good job with both tails and Knuckles will be interesting to see what they do with the 3rd movie based of there after credit scence and with Jim carry retiring thing I figured it was just a April fools joke considering the news came out on April fools.
