Glad Marvel started using the official Avenger's theme by Alan Silvestri in their marketing, it's definitely now one of the more recognized themes out there.

Main reason they didn't do it before was that Perlmutter didn't want to pay top-line composers what they wanted. Feige is starting to realize that keeping some musical continuity helps build up the emotional connection to the characters and their previous films.

I don't expect Silvestri to use many pre-existing themes other than his own. I expect his motifs for the tesseract and Natasha to be retained alongside the main theme (hopefully Elfman's superior Ultron hybrid version), and maybe his Captain America theme. And then likely a big theme for Thanos.

I'd be surprised if he quoted any of the Thor/GOTG/Doctor Strange/Spidey/IM material. It would just make the score less focused.

I was just thinking this to myself. Imagine if mcu had PHENOMENAL soundtracks. These movies would be even better and be taken to a whole another level. They have had a couple of good tracks but nothing that you can listen to constantly outside the movie. Like I constantly have movie soundtracks I listen to and i never have any mcu soundtracks to listen to.

I hope this movie has an amazing soundtrack. Music plays such a key role for movies

Silvestri created his own themes for Iron Man and Thor in the first Avengers film. I wouldn't be surprised if he reused those in this one along with creating a new theme for Spidey. I'm sure he'll reuse his First Avenger Cap theme in this.

I was just thinking this to myself. Imagine if mcu had PHENOMENAL soundtracks. These movies would be even better and be taken to a whole another level. I 100% agree. Hope Silvestri can deliver a unique pefect score for these two ultimate MCU films. I'd also appreciate keeping the main themes for everyone together as well. Musical AND character continuity would be awesome.

Sidenote: Why on earth isn't "Driving With The Top Down" Iron Man's official theme? That never returns in any film after the first.

The only Thor ones I really REALLY enjoyed was his main theme and Frigga's death scene. The rest were nice, but those two were fantastic. Hope we hear them somewhere in IW, but not if they jar with the overall themes.

The only MCU themes I'd really want to hear in IW are:

Thor theme (Patrick Doyle) - best soundtrack of the MCU
Iron Man's - "Driving with top down" OR "Can You Dig It"
Avengers theme by Silvestri
