Spider-man 3.1 finally?!

Yes, that listing "Spider-Man Editor's Cut" has been floating around for about a week. The only thing different is the run time is shown as 2hr 36min. But when you click on it -- it just takes you to the standard cut.

Someone up there just likes to goof on us.

That could be leftover from the 3.1 that was to-be. Until a press release, we won't know anything for sure.

The biggest mysteries of the world...

5. Bigfoot.
4. The Loch Ness Monster.
3. The Zodiac Killer.
2. Area 51.
1. Spider-Man 3.1

If they don't announce a press release either way by next week, then I don't see how they can even promote a non 3.1 included box set.

Even if its just a traditional blu ray re-release, they need to announce a press release for it sooner or later. I mean, it makes economic sense you need to atleast get as many people to buy it as you can.

I know Sony is stupid, but they can't be that stupid.......can they?

Does anyone know how many days it was before the release of the 2014 four-disc Blu-ray set of the Spider-Man trilogy (the repackage containing the 2012 re-releases of the first two movies and both discs of the original release of the third) that Sony released information about what was in the set?

"The superhero battles a space sludge".....:funny:

That was first posted here on the 13th. All Bull crap until and if Sony lowers itself to announce this title. Monday, the next opportunity, will be a ridiculous 22 days before release.

This is the laziest effort for a sequel/reboot cash grab re-release I've ever seen. If it has nothing new just say so and if it does contain something new and exciting -- what the hell is wrong with them?

They're taking a page outta Foxes X-men releases?? :woot::woot:

Price dropped to $29.99 at Amazon for the mystery set. You must buy it to find out what is inside.

I am really tempted to email Sony myself but I know it's not going to do any good, this is beyond ridiculous at this point. They can EASILY put an end to all speculation if they would just come out and talk about what is on the new sets. Them being quiet is only making things worse.

Folks on Blu-ray.com forums claim to have seen the Editor's Cut digitally. List of changes, spoilered for length:

Here is the full list of differences:

Different background music during certain scenes.

The shot of Sandman diving into the sand pit is removed, and he just falls in.

At the beginning of the sewer/train fight, the shot of Sandman looking at the ceiling is cut by a second or two.

The scene where Peter is on the payphone and apologizes to Mr. Ditkovitch is removed, and replaced with a shot of Peter cautiously looking at the black box, and is shown after MJ arrives in the mansion elevator, but before the Twist scene. Instead, there is an alternate version of the scene where Ursula tells Peter that MJ called him, and he apologizes right then.

The line "Make him wish he were dead. First, we attack his heart!" is removed.

After the breakup scene on the bridge, the scenes with Harry and Peter at the cafe and the mansion fight is moved to later, and instead shows the scene in Peter's apartment before the fight. Right then, is when he wears the black suit under his clothes on the street and notices Eddie's fake photo on the Daily Bugle front page.

We finally see the full trailer footage of the black-suited Spider-Man footage in the daylight as he leaves the Daily Bugle. It's then that he puts the suit back in the black box, and goes to meet Harry in the coffee shop.

The mansion fight then happens, but not before an alternate beginning to the scene with different dialogue and takes, and it starts with Peter lying on the couch.

After that, the James Brown song montage starts, without the spinning newspaper.

After Sandman reforms himself, the sandcastle scene in the park is shown.

The scene with Aunt May in Peter's apartment is removed entirely.

An alternate scene where Harry doesn't learn about his father getting killed by the glider, and instead looks at a broken picture frame containing a photo of him, Peter and MJ, to which he then cries.

Well damn, it actually happened. The list is a bit disappointing but some of the Sandcastle scene is back and I can't wait to see it.

Still skeptical about this.

Did Raimi have any input on this edit at all?

Also, what about that freaking warped ending where Spider-Man just lets Sandman go...?

That is a horrendous list of changes. The only good one is the sand castle scene. They cut more out than they added in.

Shocked that they cut the last Aunt May scene. It's one of the big growth moments for Peter.

I just finished watching it and I'll be honest, it's the same movie but it plays better because tonally, it isn't as cheesy as the theatrical cut.

If this ever makes it on disc, I'll finally, finally own the Raimi Trilogy.
