The strong rumors seem to be saying Jean but I don't really want that because I'm not too interested in a Spider-Man/Jean Grey crossover and I'm not too sure she fits Jean, but I've only ever seen her play angst.

I think she fits Gwen best, probably, but hopefully we get confirmation sooner than later.

Her natural hair color is the only thing that screams Jean.

There are much better options out there who would look the part.

I'm skeptical it's Jean Grey.

This is still a Sony film , and I doubt that if Sadie Sink is playing a female lead in the film, that they would allow it to be a non Sony owned character , like Jean Grey.

Now , if she's playing a supporting role ala Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Nick Fury, etc , in the Home Trilogy , then I could believe that it could be Jean Grey.

But I suspect , more likely than not, she's playing a Sony owned character.

I believe that Feige probably did approach her at one point for a variety of different roles she could play , with Jean being one of them.

Ultimately , I think they decided the best fit for her would be in the next Spiderman film.

I'm bracing myself for the possibility that she just ends up being one of Peter's classmates. She'll probably be someone bigger, but you can never tell, based on who you'd get. After all, Donald Glover is a pretty big name, and we haven't seen him at all since Homecoming.

Oh God, you’re right.

I feel like it underscores Sony’s reputation with these characters that my attempt to make fun of them still sounded marginally more sensible/enticing than what they would actually do with it.

The way they did Ezekiel and his casting made no f'n sense. Ezekiel Sims isn't French, he's American. Also, he's not a villain who wears a goofy ass evil Spidey costume.

I think they'll go real deep cut/ obscure character that only real hard core comic fans will know

Posted this idea in the X-Men thread. Thought I’d post it here:

Let me split the difference. She’s playing Firestar and has a different civilan name and powerset, but she’s a Jean Grey variant.

If it’s the case that Jean Gray can’t be part of Spider-Man 4 without having to credit a Lauren Schuler Donner on the original films, this could be their way around that.

You get a taste of Sadie Sink’s acting and what she’ll bring to MCU Jean Grey without having to waste that character in a one off appearance right off the bat and bringing all of the baggage that comes with such a big and important character like that.

I thought it was kind of keeping in with what they’ve been doing so far with a) introducing past or new variants of future main MCU characters and b) having said character be played by the same actor/actress playing said main MCU character in a future film.
