Spider-Man Day

Just wanted to mention that the public's opinion of Spidey has changed a few times in the comics too. Besides, if the day is ruined by Symbiote Spidey's actions, it will most certainly be true to the infamous Parker luck.

Also, first time poster here, though I may be the oldest lurker of this forum, since the days this was just Spider-man Hype. So, greetings to everybody, glad to finally make your official acquaintance.

Welcome to the Hype!

Welcome. You are a rare breed my friend. A first time poster with not only good grammar but an actual point in his post.

Welcome! Nice post

Why, thank you.

Although, I must note I've noticed that the Hype has become increasingly lenient towards new members. Maybe it's this weird "kindness" disease that's sometimes (although admittedly rarely) been detected in the net. I hear it's contagious.

Sheesh! Not a word for years, and now we can't shut you up!!!:D

Welcome to the hype!

I'd like to see, at the beginning of the movie, Spidey fighting Sandman, and defeating him. Gets one villain out of the way while still giving him time to make an impression and give the movie a great start. In Spider-man's honor, they hold a public reception for him or something. At this point, either the symbiote makes him freak out and lash at citizens, or Harry attacks/frames him somehow.

I think the Spiderman day is kinda dumb ,but it's not unheard of . In the cartoons and the comics there were similar types of events .

It just reminds me a bit of..........And please my deepest apologies if I offend anyone :o ............ the charity event in Batman and Robin where Mr Freeze eventually shows up . In this case it's Sandman . MJ being jealous of Spidey's success reminds me of Robin being jealous of Batman's success .

Not saying the film is gonna be THAT bad , but those two story threads remind me a bit of that film .:spidey:

that was a chaity event for some lame jungle thing that batman and robin attended. it wasn't held in honor of the dynamic duo or anything. and it was really stupid...cause they had poison ivy dancing in a gorilla suit, among other things.

pretty sure this spider-man day can't get even close to that bad.

Spider-Man Day is alright imo. That script summary said that its where Spidey first meets Gwen. Also it said that Sandman intrudes in it I think.

Besides, I doubt it'll involve any Spidey credit cards...

Bingo. Welcome to the board.

You guys are horrible. NYC does in fact appreciate Spider-Man's presence and the good he does for the city. Jameson has a few of his followers but the City realized..."uhh...dude did you see him get his ass handed to him while saving that kid?"

And Spidey has been celebrated in the comics many times before. A few of those times came before many of you were even born.

So think of this as an ode to Spidey's trend for bad luck...because it wont last long, even though we all know he deserves it.

I bet the whole celebration doesn't even last more than 2 min

The film is a year away . Alot can happen .

Just Kidding:O .

I wish I could go to Spider-Man day. :(

(....I'm back, b****es!)

It works, because looking at the first two movies you can see an evolution as the public goes from distrusting the wallcrawler to slowly beginning to appreciate him.

And the other reason it works is, as others have said, that famous Parker luck. ;) Just when suddenly everybody loves Spider-Man for once..... he gets the symbiote and starts embracing his darker side, likely ruining the parade in some way and turning the public back against him.

How are they going to justify the whole city suddenly doing a complete 180 and loving Spidey?? Makes no sense.

Who says it will be the whole city? When has an ENTIRE CITY agreed on anything? That's why we have elections. We all know that JJJ will be blasting it. I'm sure there will be many people opposed to it.

Please point me in the direction of this Script summary :D

Maybe the most valid argument yet. In an election, 60% is considered a landslide. But if 40% of NYC'ers(what is there, like 8 million people?) supported Spidey, that would still be one hell of a parade.

The one reason I dislike this idea is once again Rami has forgot the comic side of things. In the comics a lot of people dislike Spidey, he's not reguraded as some heroic figure, more often than not he's got the police on his back.

Congratulations, you have finally found your soul mate. Glad to hear it. Just joking! I think that they should just stick to the roller coaster idea of spidey finally getting the credit he deserves only just to have it go downhill. It makes the movie more interesting in my opinion.

This'll be before the symbiote, cause it will be broken up by Sandman robbing an armored truck and he has the red suit on there. Plus Brock shows up to photograph a defeated Spidey as Sandman gets away.

But what about kissing Gwen Stacy updside down, which is kinda lame and cheese.

are you sure that that's how it all goes down or is that just a theory? seems like a legit idea to me!
