Lol please. MoS, BvS and especially JL are terrible movies. There's nothing to misunderstand. I remember watching that video by Brett Culp and when he started crying...heh, I couldn't believe the bs that I was witnessing. Look, I get there are people who do like Snyder's DCEU movies and that's cool but there are a vast majority who rightfully regard them as garbage and it has nothing to do with misunderstanding the movies. If there's any misunderstanding at all it's coming from Snyder and the WB/DCEU execs who have repeatedly demonstrated more often than not their incapability to make a compelling and exciting film based on some of the most iconic characters in all of fiction.

I just looked up that Brett Culp video. OH. MY. GOD. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. And the comments below it aren't much better.

So I guess Supes and Wonder Woman are the only two heavy-hitters left who haven't? Who do you guys think will get there first?

I don't think WW84 will get there, but it at least has a chance.

Pains me to say it as a Superman fanboy, but he is a borderline joke at this point, he has been relegated to Jabroni status for the CW shows. So no chance, not anytime soon anyways.

Also Wolverine hasn't gotten a billion $ film either, who my majority of the metrics is bigger than both Supes and WW, so that's 3 heavy hitters.

Wolverine, now that's home, will eventually get there. WW may have a shot later; depending on how WW84 does. Superman doesn't have what it takes to get there. Actually, He has to prove He's even capable to have a franchise first.

Wolverine doesn't need his own movie. MS should focus on making the best possible X-Men movies they can that does justice to the major characters; characters who were criminally shortchanged like Cyclops and Storm. I don't think it's a good idea for Wolverine to hog the spotlight like what has been the case till date

Wolverine is a flagship Marvel character, and a cornerstone of the Marvel universe. He will and should get his own movie. Cyclops-stans are gonna have to just deal with it, and make their piece with Scott being forever a second banana to Logan.

Sadly this is true about Superman, his stock has literally plummeted over the past few years. Thanks a lot Snyder.

Reportedly Tom Holland’s contract with Marvel ends with Spider-Man 3.

Though I suppose it could be renewed or renegotiated.

Wolverine has kept a monthly title or titles since the 80's. Cyclops has barely ever even had his own book. He'll never be as popular nor as interesting as Wolverine from a storytelling perspective. A loose cannon with amnesia who does what it right anyways against someone who does exactly what he's told to do all the time? Yeah, we know who's more interesting.

As for Superman, until someone makes a Superman movie where they embrace what makes him super, we're going to get stuck with hyper-violent Man of Steel-type movies or boring yawn-fests of internal analysis like Superman Returns.

If Wolverine hogs another X-men franchise, I'm out. I'll catch the movie on a stream.

What about his contract with Sony? Is he a free man after SM3? Maybe he can pressure them into staying with Marvel (if that’s what he wants). Taking out Spidey from Marvel without Holland, and therefore relaunching with a 4th Spidey seems like a big unnecessary risk when together they are putting out a film that is making a billion dollars quite easily.

The X-Men movies have always been the sum of their parts then the whole with the exception of characters like Wolverine & Deadpool. However, if movies like Guardians are any indication, a charismatic Cyclops can elevate a X-Men movie. Also as well as the newer X-Men movies, elevating Xavier & Magneto and :sigh: Mystique.

That's why he should get his own franchise, spanning decades. Then when we get another X-Men film he's a part of the ensemble and other great characters can shine. Wolverine is one of my three favorite characters, but the X-Men are full of great characters and him stealing the spotlight is not what that franchise is about. It became pathetic.

I’m not so sure. If it was coming out right after an Avengers movie, I could see a billion. I know Thor is more popular than ever but we shall see.

Never really got into the Wolverine movies, even Logan. I put that down to how much it angered me how much spotlight Wolverine took from everyone. Wolverine even cuts off Nightcrawer when he is making his introduction on the x-jet. That absolutely infuriated me. For years I thought you couldn't make an ensemble movie without a main protagonist but Avengers showed how to do it. Like I said, if Wolverine takes screen time from the likes of Cyclops again then count me out. I'll stick to the comics.

Agreed. If he becomes a huge MCU character, there won't be a need for him to take up all the oxygen of the other X-Men, stunting their growth. I would love to see the first main MCU X-film become a massive success without him and he can always then crash the proceedings later to take the franchise to the next level.

This is one of the reasons I loved First Class. A Wolverine cameo, as opposed to Wolverine being the sole hero. He saved the day in X-Men, X2, and was the only one who could stop Phoenix in X3 (what?!). I would almost prefer to see it Ultimate X-Men style where the X-Men are a team, Wolverine is hired to kill Professor X, and then he defects and joins the team. Better than the Wolverine show...guest starring the X-Men.

That was a great cameo too. :D

Wolverine is an awesome team member when he isn’t written as a completely dominant force overshadowing everyone else. I would have never got so into the X-Men as my favourite team if this had been the case when I started reading.

I like Wolverine solo, but for him to work as a team, you have to give his teammates time to shine, too...and then he can be awesome. Rising tide raises all ships, right?

And yes, it was a great cameo!

Yeah, this is why they need a whole
film or 2 to show audiences why they were once the most popular thing in comics, and to do it without Wolverine. While that is happening, Wolverine can be launched as a Spider-Man/Iron Man size character in the MCU in his own right, and then join the flourishing X-Men and make them even better. That is the dream for now anyway. :cwink:

Looking at Box office Mojo currently Disney has 5 of the top 10 movies worldwide this year 6 if you count FFH, and they still have Star Wars, Frozen 2, Maleficent 2, coming out.

Theoretically they could have 9 of the top 10 films this year if you include FFH as partly theirs. I'd say 8 is pretty likely given the love for the Fast and Furious but still . . . .
