FFH OW (6 days - Tuesday to Sunday)

$200 M + easily.

Total domestic BO prediction:

$450-550 M

Total worldwide BO:

$1-1.4 billion
This would be great, but I don't see this making more than 410 domestic, Lion King is coming. I see 350-410 NA and 650-700 Internationally. 1-1.1b.

Cap is not outdated IMO. It didn't take much to make Cap cool. Superman is going to take a lot more for people to see him as a cool character. It's not going to be an easy thing to do, if it were, someone would have done it by now.

Tyler Hoechlin managed to do it in one episode of Supergirl.

I hope Sony knows what it's doing. The trailers are cut to make the movie seem generic. They have held back such amazing visuals. I appreciate that as a movie goer but I hope the general audience don't skip this thinking it's a run of the mill movie.

This movie is awesome and very rewatchable. I see this having good legs.

Very good movie but not in the great league of MCU (Avengers1,IW,EG,TWS.CW,GotG1,IM1).

8.5/10 from me.

Better than Spider-Man 3 ,TASM 1&2 and definately better than Homecoming.
Original Spider-man 1&2 still better though.

A very enjoyable film.

*Action packed to the max.
*Very good humor throughout.
*Great visuals.
*Great performances.
*Decent story.
*Mid credits scene is very good and surprising. They really nailed it.

On the minus side.

*Too over the top at times. F&F levels of cringe.
*After credits scene is a joke. I want those 15 minutes of my life back. Pointless , pretentious and convinient.

Yeah not much to complain really. Mostly a very good enjoyable film. An improvement over Homecoming. I cant wait for the 3rd.

Why do you guys think this will make over a billion? I'm thinking this movie makes Homecoming numbers.

A few things. Its opening weekend numbers in China are almost that of Homecoming's entire run, and it already surpassed it by 12M+ in just 6 days. Other international markets show noticeable growth over HC as well.
Domestically now, it's harder to track since they decided to open it on a Tuesday but early projections suggest that Far From Home is well on pace to outgross Homecoming.
That being said this is speculation based on very early numbers and in no way am I suggesting that this a done deal.

It's annoying that Stranger Things debuts this weekend. I think that is going to eat into the weekend box office numbers. Hopefully, word of mouth prompts people to come out for this even though this is the third Spider-Man movie in 3 years.

Don't worry, Spidey will be fine.

Remember when people were saying "GaMe Of tHrOnEs wiLL HuRt / dEsTrOy EnGgAmE" for months? :hehe:.

‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ Waking Up Summer Box Office With $150M+ 6-Day Gross – Deadline

THURSDAY AM UPDATE: Yes, it’s true, the $27M that Spider-Man: Far From Home is the best Wednesday for any Marvel Cinematic Universe movie beating even Avengers: Endgame‘s first Wednesday of $25.2M. Two-day total is at $66.3M. 6-Day is expected to be north of $150M. Wednesday’s haul is -32% from Tuesday’s opening.

But, interestingly enough, Far From Home is lower than the $40.4M Wednesday posted by Sony’s own Spider-Man 2 back in 2004. Note that was the opening day for the movie.

Because of July 4 festivities today, business is expected to ease further before spiking again on Friday. However, if there’s rain anywhere in the country –and there’s not much except around Kansas, the plains, with scattered strong storms around the western Great Lakes, Ohio Valley and into the Mid-Atlantic and the Southeast–then business should overindex for Spidey.

I agree with you that the first act played out like the trailers, and seemed cute and cheeky, but man, even though I knew it was coming, once that curtain got lifted, the movie really HIGHLY performs.
This movie will have GREAT word of mouth.

Yep, from the moment Spidey walks out of the bar and Mysterio just sits there smilling, while
everyone around him disappears as holograms,
the film becomes truly amazing.

Well it is for me. 9.5 and better than Endgame. Well its the GA that matter here and it looks like they love this.

Well im not surprised if people like it more than EG.
No movie is without flaws.
FFH is a solid movie and will join the billion dollar club.
A win win.

If (when :cwink: ) that happens, them what an amazing box office for the year for the MCU. 2 solo films beating a billion and the team movie getting close to Avatar.

If (when) that happens, it will be an other testament to Kevin Feige’s masterful management, not only of these properties but also of Marvel’s Studio slate of films, the way they connect to each other and move the overall narrative of the MCU forward.

I’ve been saying for quite some time that making Far From Home an epilogue to the Infinity Saga instead of the jumping off point into what comes next was a stroke of genius that would pay some serious dividends.

Whatever you think of the MCU it’s really hard not to marvel at such a visionary endeavor.

Why do you guys think this will make over a billion? I'm thinking this movie makes Homecoming numbers.

If you just take how much more this will make in North America and China then Homecoming did (likely 130m+) and add it to the rest of Homecoming's OS totals then that film would have made over a billion. Factor in the the boost FFH is getting in various markets over it's first few days and the really strong WOM, it's a legitimate possibility.

HC made 880 million so to get to 1 billion you would only need a 120 million jump that is not really that much there have been other franchise that have had a much bigger jump from one movie to the next. HC also had a lot going agest it being the second reboot in a short time and comming off spiderman 3 and amazing spiderman 1/2 all movies considered ok/bad. Also like some one else said far from home has already made more in china than HC did. There is also this. ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ Zips To $120 Million In China Through Tuesday – Deadline

Report that in a few other places far from home is out pacing HC. Now I dont known if all places are or not but so far looks good. There are 16 places were the movie is comming out today/tommorw the 5th so that should also give it a boost from were it is right now and could maybe give us some more place. There are a lot of places were the movie also came out today/yesterday the 4th so again that will help. While China and USA the movie came out and those are the two biggest places with having quit a few places were it came out the 4th/5th that makes it hard to really known just how good it is doing yet. Movie also comes out in Ityal on the 10.

‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ Waking Up Summer Box Office With $150M+ 6-Day Gross – Deadline

JULY 4TH EVENING UPDATE: Sony’s Spider-Man: Far From Home had an excellent July 4th, making an estimated $25.1M, dipping 7% from yesterday. Through 3-days, the Jon Watts-directed sequel counts $91.35M. Far From Home‘s gross today is arguably the second best Independence Day at the B.O. after Transformers‘ $29M in 2007. The 3rd, 4th and 5th best July 4th single day grosses belong to Despicable Me 2 ($24.5M), Amazing Spider-Man ($23.3M) and Spider-Man 2 ($21.9M). By sunrise tomorrow, this number could be higher as overnight grosses come trickle into ComScore. Should Far From Home emulate the post July 4th Friday-Saturday-Sunday percentile trajectory of Despicable Me 2 or Amazing Spider-Man, the 6-day gross could reach between $170M-$190M. Even if the pic lands between $150M-$160M, it’s still a great shot in the arm for the summer box office, and believe me, exhibition isn’t crying one bit. For certain, Far From Home should easily clear $125M by tomorrow or Saturday.
