Cbms are full of real world impossibilities. IM, Helicarriers, A man gaining several hundreds of pounds in mass in seconds,

What the MCU take on the Spider suit offers is consistency.

What's worse, organic Web shooters or Tony Stark sorting out Spider-Man's tailoring?

Watch the video.

Difficult choice but I'd go with Stark making Peter's stuff. At least with organic webshooters, Peter could still illustrate his intelligence in other ways like spider-signal, spider-tracers, webpits and of course his suit, (which is actually simplified compared to what's been shown in the movies)

Hoping to see the Vulture.

Expecting to see the 30 second clip they showed yesterday in Brazil. Plus a bit more including some high school scenes with Ned, Flash and Liz.

I really want to see more of Aunt May, Tony and hopefully a look at Shocker. But I think this would be too much (since I consider this maybe more of a teaser).

I get what you're saying. However, people have acknowledged Peter's potential and it's mainly a shock to them because they never expected it in the first place. Don't get me wrong, Peter has a brilliant mind but his limitations fall under the category of being mainly specialised in too few fields. T'Challa's genius is multidisciplinary and is specialised in many a field, which is why he's always at the big boy table when it comes to the heroes needing to assert a higher level of intelligence to overcome a problem; and during the forming of the illuminati, he was expected to join them but he told them to eff off in a nice way for reasons which turned out to prove him right. Also, when Peter can intellectually outsmart Dr Doom like T'Challa has then he can make it at least into Marvel's top 10 but until then Peter's a brilliant boy with a lot of potential.

Lol well if you wanna go off feats, the Spider tracers he made were inspected by Hank Pym, and he noted that what Peter did when he was just 15 was something that took him a few years to perfect (even going as far as to complain that a kid who's smarter than himself is wasting time fighting burglars in a spandex onsie). Or during the big time arc when he figured out how to disarm a specialized bomb that Reed and Stark failed to figure out. Plus the PI software he designed recently is stated to be more advanced than anything Stark Industries has (and tech isn't even his field of specialty), and PI has overtaken Stark as the leading science/tech conglomerate, even designing SHIELD tech

I hope you don't think I'm trying to start an argument, cause I'm not. I'm just pointing out that the intellectual gap between the two isn't that big

I always thought Peter and Tony both made the suit together. We never see a scene of them together after the initial meeting until he appears at the airport fight so I assumed Peter helped make the costume with Stark.

Peter had the ideas and Stark's money and tech made it a reality.

Hoping to see some Spidey action and maybe a taste of some quips with a shot of Vulture. Expecting to see the Washington web wings scene from the footage yesterday.

I wouldn't say Sony fans. At the time of the Sony/Marvel deal, there was a small amount of posters who were upset that the Amazing series was being canceled. A number of those don't post here anymore, and the few who remain seem to form the posters that have posting their reservations about the MCU Spidey.

Except harry who was on board in the beginning and really loved Civil War and since seems to be on the other side. Not sure what that's all about, although I get his concerns.

Not trying to be rude but maybe you guys should watch the video iinstead of making fun of the notion. I mean, you're the one who brought up that crazy scientifically accurate Spider-Man video.

Exactly. I was onboard, overjoyed and practically jumped out of the window from excitement when it was announced. I woke up the entire house because of how loud I was screaming lol.

Umm... http://comicbook.com/2016/12/03/jon-favreau-details-happy-hogans-role-in-spider-man-homecoming/

Well, at least this lessens the chances of Stark suiting up to help Peter.

I really really really want Bad Reputation playing over avenger high school pics with text saying every journey has a beginning blah blah blah. I want all the avenger high school pics in the opening credits of the film too. That would really get the crowd pumped and laughing immediately

Hey man, I welcome this stuff. I remember the Pym/tracers moment which was a nice touch and it's good to know that the writers are doing more with Peter. It's long overdue character development. However, the only issue I have is that most of these developments are relatively new and are as of a consequence from Doc Ock's "influence". Secondly, Stark Tech is great but has always been vastly inferior to Wakandan tech, much like everything else is on 616 earth.

If we're going by feats, what T'Challa has done given the time he dedicates to a world of responsibilities he has to deal with is nothing short of remarkable.

He created a suit that was able to absorb cosmic power, he created an x-gene suppressant serum when he fought Typhoid Mary, he created shadow physics, he developed an entire synthetic techno-jungle, he created the kimoyo card (which was like an advanced version of the iPhone before the iPhone ever came out), he created a quantum teleportation room called the nowhere room which allows for instantaneous travel across time, alternates and parallel universe simultaneously, created Falcons flying tech, he created energy daggers, anti-metal claws and wall-scaling vibranium boots as well as the Avengers' Quinjet. I think objectively it's fair to say that Peter's feats can't really compare.

I really don't need to see Keaton or the Vulture outside of a 2-3 money shot of him fighting Spidey in the skies of NYC. Keep the trailer light-hearted and funny, but show Peter's struggles as a teenager. Show the balancing problems he has, plus some heart felt moments with Aunt May I.

So what if the extent of Stark's involvement with Peter's fights is him getting Happy to drop off upgrades for Peter's suit?

Exactly!

People used to complain how Peter made such a sophisticated suit during the Raimi films and TASM2, because it wasn't realistic enough to them that he made it himself.

Now that we have a perfect and (in-universe) believable explanation, people are still complaining... :whatever:
Yep. Even web-shooters is unbelievable technology, given Parker's resources - being a poor 15 Y.O. kid. No university lab or whatever advanced platform to work with. I think, they solved it quite well. Parker developed initial working concepts for his suit and gadgets, Stark helped to realize their potential. IMO, it's perfect.

I haven't followed production of this film and know practically nothing outside of what I saw in Civil War. I'll be checking out the trailer with interest.

See, to some extent I get where you're coming from and I understand the annoyance you feel about Peter not doing in the movies what he did in the comics.

As both a hardcore Spidey and black panther fan, I can relate...to some extent. For me, it's super annoying that in the MCU black panther didn't create the Quinjet or Falcons wings or at least mention that they're based off Wakandan tech and designs. To me, that robs a huge chunk off Black panther/Wakanda's tech superiority and contribution to/within the MCU.

Personally, I think orgs lazily take away from Peter's genius which is why I'm glad he has the mechs and CW made it a point to have Tony ask who manufactured the webbing. Peter still undeniably comes off like the brain box he is. However, the costume is just a costume at this point it has no bearing on the level of his intelligence. Many people put together amazing costumes at conventions so for me, I can take it or leave it on where Peter gets it from.

So what if the extent of Stark's involvement with Peter's fights is him getting Happy to drop off upgrades for Peter's suit?

That could very well be the case, nobody will know until they see the movie.

Stop worrying that if he's involved in the fighting scenes that he's going to steal Spidey's thunder. SONY would never let that happen, not in THEIR movie.

I do wonder if the new suit will have the Romita/Ditko eight legs down Spider
