And Norman doesn't look like a man in his 50's.

He kinda does sometimes.

If the character doesn't look like he is, then that is not how he should look
I guess the same can be said about Aunt May too, yet you don't seem like you have any trouble with her new look

I was saying he isn't too old for the game's world and scenario, not compared to previous versions of the character.

Besides, Insomniac has said dozens of times this is their take on Spider-Man. How he looks in the comics has near 0 basis on this game. He and Harry could've been black for all we knew.

As I said: you can not like it. You're obviously entitled to your opinion.

Small side note: if we're talking opinions--I think the hairstyle in those pictures is ****ing terrible. That is the one thing I'm so glad we don't see anymore. I don't care if it's "iconic"--it's hideous.

Well obviously no character is too old or too young for this game, because they can make the characters what ever way they like. It's their world. Their story. Same as the movies and the poor design choices they sometimes make. The too old complaints is in relation to how Norman usually looks. Not what the game developers are entitled to do. If they want Norman to look 80, they can do it.

I never cared for the washboard hair either. But I don't think it's all that iconic. After all I never remember any complaints about Dafoe not having that "iconic" hair.

Your first and third pic look like Tommy Lee Jones instead of Norman. And the second pic doesn't look like a 50's guy.

Where did you ever get that impression; http://forums.superherohype.com/showpost.php?p=31769061&postcount=496

I like Tomei in the role. But I would much rather the elderly Aunt May any day. Rosemary Harris is still the best on screen take on the character.

I think its iconic to an individual based on what their favourite era of reading or experiencing the comics for the first time was, I think this goes across any character to a certain degree, in that, our first visual receipt of any given character's 'look' will define what we perceive to be the 'definitive' look, and in this case, the 'washboard' look got there first and so thus becomes the look to be drawn from (literally) in this case.

I'm not feeling Norman's look either, but I can live with it. My only real issue is that he lacks that steely, ominous look that he's so often portrayed with. Maybe it's just that shot, but he needs to look more stern for me.

I honestly like them coming up with their own designs. Much like the Woody/Carnage rumors, I think an old Goblin or Carnage would be an interesting take.

I regret we didn't get to see the Chris Cooper Goblin, even though I didn't like that series.

Also, quit trying to be contrarian and kill the buzz in here peeps. I swear, some people will nitpick anything. :o

Learn to love it! :cwink:

That looks great but where that web attaches when he first shoots it in that gif? It looks like it doesn't always attach to buildings. :D

The developers said they always attach to something, so we just can't see it here. I agree though this shot looks like he just randomly shoots his web in the air. Curious.

These pictures of Mayor Osborn and the comic panels make me wish that Insomniac went with the Osborn hair legacy instead of this hairstyle.

Anyone else wishes to see a movie starring both Tommy Lee Jones and Dan Aykroyd? I'd love to see them together hunting either something supernatural or extraterrestrial, add Dwayne Johnson (or Ryan Reynolds) and Samuel L. Jackson to the mix. Make a good funny script and give it to a good and capable director (both inspired by Quentin Tarantino style) to make something exciting of it.

Call it Mother Ghost ****ers and you're in.

All this stuff about Norman never looking that old. Well he did in Amazing Spider-man 2. With that said this game is a NEW intepretation of the franchise. Changing Norman's suit, making MJ a reporter, etc... a par for the course. People need to be open minded and trust what Insomniac is doing here

Be prepared to read "That TASM franchise is total BS. Nothing in or from it should count as an interpretation for anything in the Spider-Man franchise and should instead be buried and forgotten" comments.

...and some bits & pieces aside, they'd be right.

Now that we've cut that debate mercifully short, anyone else expecting to see nods to the Iron Patriot in this game franchise?

This Spider-Man is a grown ass dude, so Norman would be older.

That's the big spoiler they're hiding on the statue that comes with the collector's edition, they make you think it's some supervillain escaping from the Raft but it's actually the Geriatric Goblin escaping from the old folks home.

I am not really feeling Norman's design either. Its not that he looks old. Its that he kind of doesn't look or feel like Norman from the comics or at first glance give off the kind of presence that you'd want for Norman Osborn in a Spider-Man story. I am kind of baffled by the design choice, to be honest.

So happy to FINALLY have a release date. Also happy to see some DLC being talked about. It'd be cool if Black Cat/Miles were playable.

In one of the Game Informer articles they say you play as Miles at certain points (as well as Mary Jane). I don't think Miles will get powers in this game, I'd guess that could be something saved for a sequel, imagine adult Peter Parker having to watch over this high schooler who was just like him with powers.

Also, I think the hairstyle in those pictures is ****ing terrible. That is the one thing I'm so glad we don't see anymore. Do people actually have that hair? I can't imagine it...

I may have seen young people with hair like that but nobody as old as Norman looks in this game has hair that full and thick.

I'm not that bothered by his appearance, just hope the Goblin looks cool.

Just ordered the collector's edition, hope Gamestop has a midnight launch.

So I've read the game will have 21 costumes, and they appear in real time during cutscenes.

100% sold, day one purchase.

Lol you mean the version that never even became the Green Goblin and died after 3 minutes of screen time? In the movie that took a big dump on the Goblin legacy by making Harry the first Green Goblin, and the one who killed Gwen?
