No way. Sick of used villains.

It's no different to how there have been multiple Jokers. The only reason why there hasn't been a Green Goblin yet for example is because the last two versions of Spider-Man (Raimi and Webb) which used the Green Goblin are too recent.

Here's the thing; I'd love to see Spider Woman on the big screen but I sincerely fear that will inspire the formation of the Spider team (bleh) Marvel had been pushing recently and I have ZERO interest in that

You never know. Unpopular opinion but I’m sick of miles always showing up and him showing up always dampens the uniqueness of Spider-Man. Multiple spidermen running around as a team is just..... idk it just doesn’t work. It’s better if they are split up or peter has some time to grow.

It may be unpopular but it's one i agree with. the Current Pete needs to grow first, before introducing other spides..

It's way too early to bring in Miles (if we even have to, besides the throwaway reference to him in Homecoming that only the comic aficionados understood). Peter himself is just getting started.

Man I hope they don't pull a spider-verse and have a bunch of Spider people running around. Let Peter have his run please.

Come to think of it sequels in MCU do add more heroes. I wouldn't be surprised if we any type of Spider Woman or Miles in the sequel

The new casting call is intriguing. We may be getting Harry.

Meanwhile they're looking for a villain with "big ideas" who could be male or female, so that's interesting. Smythe, maybe?

I hope it's Harry but have no idea who the villain could be. Smythe does make sense but why Europe then?

I wanted Smythe and the Spider Slayers in the sequel alongside Scorpion so I'd be cool if that's what we're getting

Villain. Could be a man or a woman. Has "elevated ideas". It's clearly Stilt-Man, people.

Norman is too iconic to change the race or gender of the character. My guess is that it's either Smythe (and the kid is a young Alistair who will grow up to become the Spider-Slayer) or we're looking at Beetle.

Virtually everyone commenting mentions Smythe but I'm not seeing much in the way of Beetle getting a mention. Why Beetle?

A. Abe Jenkins once went undercover as a black man and there have been not one not two but three female Beetles, one of which is black since she's Tombstone's daughter. There is a huge precedent for there being a race or genderflipped Beetle.

B. Zemo was introduced to the MCU and was notably imprisoned on The Raft. Shocker also survived Spider-Man: Homecoming and is likely in the same facility since he wasn't seen in prison with Vulture and Scorpion. Blizzard's body was never found. Mister Hyde got mind-wiped but he wasn't killed off either. A credible Reddit leaker stated that Bullseye is appearing in Daredevil Season 3 and the teaser for the season showed a subway station which further confirms that Bullseye is showing up which when combined with Charlie Cox's comments about wanting to see him on the show means that we're very likely to see him debut this year. Finally, Ghost is appearing in Ant-Man and the Wasp and she's played by a black woman. The Thunderbolts have a Hispanic member (Fixer) and an Asian member (Jolt) but they notably don't have a black member of the team. Whirlwind is the Wasp's arch-nemesis. The fact that they're using Ghost and who's playing her really points towards the Thunderbolts. And when it comes to which members of the Thunderbolts are the most stable members, they're Mach (formerly Beetle) and Songbird. There is a ton of evidence that Marvel are building up to the Thunderbolts and the open race and gender of the casting call implies that we'll see Beetle more than anyone else. The only case against this theory is that Atlas isn't in the second season of Luke Cage but he may appear elsewhere.

C. Marvel are notably using a villain who we haven't seen before. When it comes to major villains, Beetle sticks out as one of the biggest. We know we're getting a thinker rather than a bruiser which narrows down who it can be and Jackal isn't very cinematic + her wanting Gwen Stacy implies that Gwen's sexual orientation would have be changed which wouldn't sit well with fans while Mysterio isn't a big bad but feels more like a side-villain for a cold open. We can also rule out Hobgoblin since Green Goblin has yet to appear. Beetle is the most likely to appear since he has the most value to the larger MCU going forward. This is the last film that we have before Marvel and Sony have to renew their contract with one another. Using Beetle while he's still available is a smart move from a business standpoint since Thunderbolts can be a whole new franchise.

I think Black cat and Doc ock would be an amazing fit. Also

I don't know if they're gonna bring in Norman just yet.

I know the article implies the particular character could be male or female; but, the villainous character being highly ambitious do sound like Norman & son(being the other casting implied).

Harry and Norman Osborn will definitely happen sooner rather than later. There's no way two of Spider-Man's most iconic characters will always be missing in the MCU.

According to the Russos, Infinity War is about 2 years after Civil War so looks like Peter will be 17 in the sequel.

Still technically a kid, but old enough for his voice to have fully broken.

There’s no way we’re getting Harry or Norman that soon lmao.
