Far From Home Spider-Man Sequel General Discussion and Speculation

With Spidey’s cinema track record so far, MCU Spidey, villains don’t look exactly like their comic counterparts. I’d imagine they’ll reimagine the design the same way they did with Vulture, Shocker, etc, whilst still retaining the classic iconography somehow. (E.g. Vulture’s wings, neck fur, greenish accents)

I love that Mysterio design. It does have a European Medieval flair to it

It’ll be interesting to see if they try and explain how (assuming Peter is there on a field trip or something) no one connects Spider-Man’s sudden appearance in wherever-the-film-will-be-set with Peter Parker’s simultaneous relocation. That kinda bugged me in SM:H.

That would be a way to work a more intimate level of stalking from Kraven...

Forget MJ or Gwen. Spiderman should get with Shuri. They would make an amazing couple.

The possible European baddies Spidey could go up against:

Sergei Kravinoff/Kraven the Hunter
Dmitri Smerdyakov/Chameleon (Kraven's half-brother)
Aleksei Sytsevich/Rhino

Morbius the Vampire
Doctor Otto Octavius/Dr. Octopus.

Russia is an Asian country, that makes Rhino, Kraven, and Chameleon *drumroll* Asian.

One of my peeves is when people take the largest country in the world outside of Asia, the largest of the seven continents.

I'm too tired to check the others, but according to Marvel wikia, Kraven was born in Volgograd, which is in European part of Russia.

Perhaps I'm too much of a traditionalist, but a Spider-Man film set entirely in Europe feels odd to me. Granted, Spidey has traveled to other places in the comics plenty of times so the precedence is there.

I am curious as to who this femme fatale character could be considering that Sony called dibs on the obvious choices of Black Cat and Silver Sable.

I am hoping for Mysterio, but I agree that Kraven and Chameleon would be the natural choices for villains in a Europe-based story. It would be interesting to see how they would handle the Chameleon as he has always struck me as being one of the more boring villains when compared to the other classics, IMO.

While the movie itself got alot of hate, I did really appreciate how TASM2 was filmed entirely in NYC and I wish they did that with the MCU Spidey

Kraven and Chameleon would be great. They're brothers, and they're both European. It seems like a no brainer. It would be so easy to incorporate them into the story. Those two are one of the easiest and most logical villain team ups. Both characters are long overdue.

Save Mysterio for the third movie.

This one should probably also have Scorpion in a small role at the beginning as a villain that Spider-Man takes down. I'm not personally that interested in Scorpion being the main villain, but I'd love for my doubts to be baseless!

There's still a lot of great villain options for this movie. Can't wait til we hear more about this.

I'd love to see Spider-Man in Europe, but a fair chunk of the movie would still have to be set in NYC. They didn't establish all the friends and school stuff to ditch it all for an entire movie.

75% of the Russian population lives in the European portion of Russia.

We've had 5 movies of Spidey swinging around NYC. It's nice to see him in different locations. I do believe that Kraven and Mysterio are long overdue. They're my top choices for the sequel.

If Comcast buys it the rights would go to Disney since it’s there property.

With Coogler wanting Kraven, it would be hilarious if he shows up in Black Panther before Spider-man.

I think Kraven is a character that can blend into other movies. He loves to hunt and that challenge.

holy shiz, i completely forgot about this character

used to be in the spidey animated show, bringing back memories

but I don't remember if he was good or not, probably not if i'm just remembering now (at least in the show)

Not necessarily. As of 2015, the Spidey rights were transferable. It all depends on if that got renegotiated once they struck a deal with Homecoming. But, there is no guarantee that they would revert to Marvel if Sony sells to Comcast.

If this is supposed to start filming in the coming months, I'd imagine news will be coming in sooner than later.

Hopefully it will not be long before we get some casting news and news about the villain. Do you guys think we will a teaser late this year or early next year?

Probably early next year.
