However, with the Homecoming sequel I wonder if the events of Infinity War won't somehow tie into this film as well given it is all the same continuity? Or will this film strictly stay within the confines of post-Homecoming? I mean it would have to tie into IW especially if Thanos is coming to Earth and if Peter is gonna help fight Thanos in that film

IW sets up the sequel going forward the same way CW did for HOMECOMING. It deals with the aftermath of the previous movie. Maybe it’s not what the entire movie is about, but the story deals with it in ways.

Yes, hopefully the news will start coming in little by little as the year progresses. I'm definitely curious about how they'll use the villains in the sequel. I loved Michael Keaton as the Vulture -- he was a great start to this series' use of villains and antagonists.

I disagree. The black suit as a subplot may have been good, but doing it that way would have been too similar to SM3. Venom would needed to have been later. Besides, let's give someone new a shot

I know posters here think Sony is using up characters; but, eventually, it will be revealed that they're not. Just wait until after the renewals when both sides are ready that the two universe are as Amy suggested...adjunct to one another; so, some villain will cross over into both universes.

If Peter really is gonna be in Europe, I wouldn't be surprised if it's Kraven.

I've warmed up to the idea of Mysterio as well.

Black Cat or Silver Sable might be making an appearance too

I guarantee it’s Mysterio or Kraven. Feige said they’re gonna use unused villains for this series. Why would they reuse another lol. If it’s Kraven this movie, it’ll be Mysterio the next. (Not aiming this at you, but generally speaking...)

If they use Kraven as a main villain I think it'd be very likely Chameleon would also be with him like how Vulture had Tinkerer and Shocker. Especially since there already was the connection between the two of them since the beginning and then later revealed to be half-brothers.

Still really want Mysterio, though. Heck, if you can make Mysterio, Kraven, and Chameleon work in Europe then go for it!

But if Sony really wants Kraven and Mysterio off limits for their own movies then they're living on another planet, which wouldn't be too far fetched.

That movie is put on hold. Hopefully permanently. I want to see black cat and spidey interact

I think things might be fair game now that movie's on hold.

There's a good chance it'll be Kraven or Mysterio. Kraven would be great because theoretically that'd mean better action

Given the Europe rumors, I think I'd be surprised if Kraven and the Chameleon don't turn out to be the villains this time around. I'd prefer Mysterio, but he doesn't really seem like a natural fit for that kind of setting. And since the BC/SS film got postponed, I expect we'll see Black Cat in the rumored femme fatale role as well.

My vote is for Mysterio for the sequel. Kraven would be a BADASS threequel villain.
