Far From Home Spider-Man Sequel General Discussion and Speculation

My vote is Mysterio for the sequel, Kraven for the threequel.

So I gave in and read some Infinity War spoilers (WARNING)

I know Homecoming 2 is supposed to be after Avengers 4 but I have to wonder how Sony plans on marketing this movie, since Spidey has ceased to exist.

Kind of takes away the suspense, doesn’t it?

I could do with a Chameleon and Kraven team up

Kinda lol

Not that I expect Spidey to be permanently dead/gone but marketing wise this trailer is probably going to be released months before Avengers 4 even comes out. I guess I'm just curious how they're gonna go about that.

I wonder if Strange will show up in Homecoming 2

Yeah it'd be a nice change of pace, at least for one film. I wonder what the in-universe excuse is going to be? Study abroad, school trip, some kind of school competition, etc?

Aunt May takes him on holiday to clear his head and try to persuade him to give up crime-fighting as Spider-Man?

I could live with that.

I don’t see why not. Feige and co aren’t gonna aim low and use B-villains for the remaining two flicks. Those two are the only big hitters that haven’t been used. It’s a no brainer.

I think it might be reversed. Mysterio seems like third movie material since Kraven is likely the villain of this movie. I could see Marvel using Mysterio to make SM3 a character deconstruction/study of Spider-Man. Having Quentin Beck break Peter down emotionally and mentally. Then there's the question of the Sinister Six and whether they will bring back Doctor Octopus for the Master Planner saga

School trip, some kind of competition involving that academic competition team that he's part of, study abroad, etc.

There's numerous ways to explain. Heck they could always pull the "Uncle Tony" thing back if they need to.

It doesn’t have to be that he’s traveling to other countries on his own dime.

I like the "some kind of school trip" idea most of all because it gives them an excuse to have some of the other characters tag along. Ganke (and yes I will keep calling him Ganke), Michelle/MJ, Aunt May (as a chaperone), etc.

Yeah, this is key.

Ganke (and yes I will keep calling him Ganke),

Heh. Bendis poked fun at Ganke/Ned...

:funny:

:hmm

So is he implying that he's been in talks for the film then? Why else with the "....."?

So Matt Damon and Matthew McConaughy could be in talks for the villain......Norman? Chameleon?

SR: Spider-Man was talks of a possible femme fatale that’s going to be answering Peter Parker’s life. Now that’s a short list. And the one that immediately pops my head at least is Black Cat.

Kevin Feige: No, that was, uh, that, that was a misleading minor casting search. None of those rumors are true at all.

Yeah, they're all fake, Mr. Feige... except the one about Spider-Man travelling to London, which you confirmed yourself? If I recall correctly, they all came from the same source.

Both would feel very fresh and different to what we've had from Spidey films so far.

I've learned to take what execs and filmmakers say pre-release with a grain of salt. We already know that the "globetrotting" rumors were true all-along.

So, I'll believe it when I see it Mr. Feige. Especially since the "femme fatale" rumors were tied into the "globetrotting" ones.

I’m taking it that the femme fatale thing might’ve been taken out of hand. And that those words used to describe the casting description lead some here straight to thinking Silver Sable, Black Cat, etc and that KF is trying to say that the role is very minor.

We'll see, but I have a feeling that he's lying.

Exactly.

How are they going to market this thing since he “died” in Infinity War and this movie comes out only a couple months after Avengers 4. They’re not going to want to spoil how he comes back
