Far From Home Spider-Man Sequel General Discussion and Speculation

I don't think Toomes should lead. But having Sandman's role works. Have him convinced to join but realizes they're going too far and later on Ock could threaten his family to keep him in line. Then he betrays them in the end.

I can't see them not using Kraven, tbh.

I love Kraven (Sergei). Absolutely adore his character and he's my second favorite villain behind The Lizard. That said, Kraven is someone who doesn't necessarily need to be in The Sinister Six. He has his own code, he does things his way, etc.

I can't see a character like Kraven working with someone as egotistical as Doc Ock. Only way I could see him fitting is if his ego was so bruised in a battle with Spider-Man that he joins up with the rest of 'em for mere revenge (or he too could get threatened with harm done to Calypso if he joins).

Wouldn't be against him being part of the Six but definitely think there's other, more suitable options.

I agree with this list. For that last spot, I am maybe thinking Tinkerer could be the 6th one. He can be the inventor for everyone else. If the member ends up being female, I could see Black Cat.

I could see 'em doing Ana Kravinoff if they absolutely want to have Kraven but not want to do Sergei.

This is a possibility.

That would work. Ock did something similar to Sandman to get him to work for him in the Six the second time they re-formed;

I own the TPB of that, in one of those "Epic Collections". Good stuff.

I think possibly part of the lore that both Sony & Marvel could be creating is that none of these characters are really followers, as in the comics of old...that they are their own persona. I can't really see a Gyllenhaal based Mysterio character being a follower either, just base on the actor himself, and his weird characterizations he brings to the characters he plays. So these characters being crass & their own persona may provide the scenario that Spidey exploit, in the event down the line, they are truly moving toward an eventual S6 team-up.

I don't think Gyllenhaal would mind not being a leader...he done a movie Okja where he's just a reporter...i've seen some of his interviews and he seems like a funny humble guy...I think he will see this as an opportunity in being part of something big...with Keaton he has this aura about him...he was too much of a leader in the first movie for them not utilise that side of him again...people would expect more from him than just being a follower.

I think Ock will dangle the carrot of freedom and getting vengeance on Spider-Man so he can be with his family again. Then he will not like the direction of the S6 and eventually betray them.

I have seen 14 million possibilities and this is the only one that makes sense

The Sinister Six should be a bunch of bickering a-holes to one another, never deciding who’s orders to follow which leads to them being more easily defeated by a teenager than it should be.

That happens after the teenager gets the stuffing knocked out of him and manages to get away before round 2 begins.

That's true...they could have better organised S6 in later movie

Not saying Gyllenhaal's Beck should be a leader; just saying I see some of the characters he plays being fairly independent minded, & not really a follower....I can see his portrayal of Beck being a crass & arrogant minded person, much like Toomes who will have a tough time following instruction different from his own.

Mysterio's one of my favorite villains, I've been hoping for him to finally be in a movie for the longest time. Great casting, too. Also cool to see Keaton is coming back.

I'm really curious to see how Gyllenhaal approaches this role. What his take on Mysterio will be.

Wonder what Mysterio's MO is gonna be here, hope they keep the essentials with him being a disgruntled SFX guy on movies and going rogue for his own reasons. I remember it was tossed out that if Mysterio was in this he could be profiting off of paranoia over the aliens/rapture staging big hoaxes that tabloids and conspiracy websites fawn over. That would be cool. Maybe Mysterio's been impersonating Spidey while he's been gone giving him a bad name.

Plus you've got a villain who is a movie fan, his pop culture knowledge would no doubt beat this Spidey's lol.

I wonder what Vulture's role will be in the movie, since he's in jail, maybe they could have Liz Toomes betray Peter Parker by breaking him out of jail

He knows Peter's identity so I can see him telling Mysterio and then creating some nightmare scenarios like Aunt May dying.

I’m a little salty about Gyllenhaal not being a different character but I’m hyped to see him as Mysterio.
Also really happy that Keaton will be back.

Can’t wait:D

That, I definitely see them doing that. Especially when this movie takes place minutes after Avengers 4. Fantastic way to introduce JJJ as well and see the city turn on him.

I hope Vulture is something of a grudging ally to Peter, it'd be more consistent with his characterization than him going straight back to villainy. He didn't like to make waves or make anything personal. If he does end up on the bad side, it'd make the most sense for Mysterio or whoever else to strong-arm or blackmail him into it.

I hope they play into Peter's PTSD from his death in IW, and then this (from marvel wiki regarding Mysterio)

He once took on the alias of psychiatrist Ludwig Rinehart and nearly convinced Spider-Man that he was insane, and should reveal his secret identity

Chameleon would be better for any kind of impersonation. Mysterio is all about the illusion.

His motivations will be interesting. Vulture's motivations weren't 100% translated from the comics but I felt that the underdog aspect/spirit was there. And yes, it needed a contemporary update. (Getting jipped by his business partner stealing his profit.) = (Getting jipped by Stark/DODC/higher ups for a business he started.)

Gonna be interesting to see what Beck's MO will be.

Superb casting with Gyllenhall. My hype for Homecoming sequel has increased with this. I'd rather they not go the too many villains/Sinister 6 route, like some are hoping for though. I think a duo of Vulture/Mysterio is just perfect already!

I'd love if Spidey fought Mysterio on a movie studio set like in his first appearance/the 60s cartoon/Amazing Friends/the 90s cartoon. A movie villain being a guy who works on movies. You could probably lean the illusions towards a mix of him using big real props and something like the holocube things he had in the 90s series.

Also I've had Amazing Spider-Man #13 for years now and it's one of my favorite comics I own just cause in my opinion it's one of the best first appearance stories for a Spidey villain.
