My favourite was the final fight between :spidey: and the :gg: , but what do YOU think was the best scene in spider-man ????????

man, what crap, you didnt even have my favorite scene in the movie in there.
THE BEST scene in the movie was when Peter started swinging for the first time chasing Uncle Ben's killer, it was too awesome!

How cool is it seeing spidey swinging for the first time in a car chase?

geez..uncle bens death is such a harsh way to put it, you couldve at least said Spidey's first swing or somethinglike that. sniff sniff, that scene really shows the physics of how spiderman swings, its just so beautiful, brings a tear to my eyes.

I put down Uncle Ben's death, which I take to mean not just the death itself, but the chase and fight afterwards. That really is *the* moment of truth for Peter, isn't it? I especially like where he hesitated before swinging from the web (no doubt remembering his last less-than-successful attempt at it) but did it anyway. He was a man on a mission. Brilliant sequence.

That entire, tense moment frames both personalities of Spider-man and the Green Goblin, and gives you the perfect picture of good versus evil in the Spideyverse. Magnificent! :daredevil

I picked the restling match for several reasons. First because its a little humiliating, which is so typical of Spidey's life. When the audience throws popcorn into Peter's face and the wrestling "****s" are screaming at him and calling him "little man," and stuff like that it's almost hard to watch. I never really thought of Spidey as being "little" but at 5 feet 10 inches (or 5'8'' in Tobey's case) I guess he is kind of little.
Second, there is a lot of Tobey Maguire as Spiderman. The balaklava allows us to see some of his emotions as he's first getting clobbered and then as he's fighting back. Tobey also gets to make the first (of his famous) joking remarks "Staying away form you." and "That's a nice outfit, did your husband make it for you?"
And lastly, because of the goofy, amazed grin in his eyes at the end of the scene. Here is a guy who has been a loser all of his life, finally getting a taste of what it is to be a winner. It's kind of touching in a way, but also kind of sad. It explains a lot of why Peter continues to be Spiderman despite it almost ruining his life at times.
For me this was the most emotionally involving scene.

i picked the peter transformation to spidey scene because it packs the most excitement. they did such a good job conveying the joy of discovering the new abilities he kas.

I picked the GG/Norman mirror conversation. For me this moment made me go WOW!! THAT'S NORMAN OSBOURNE!! Willem Dafoe is FLAWLESS in this scene and made me forget that John Malchovich had ever been offered the part (although I still think he looks more like an Osbourne).

Though this is my favorite SCENE in the film my favorite MOMENT is in the first fight between Spidey and GG. After GG is defeated he spins away screaming "I'LL GET YOU FOR THIS SPIDER-MAN!!!" It doesn't get more shall we say comic booky than that! Classic. :spidey: :gg:

The whole dang movie just ROCKED OUT BIG TIME man! :D

A great scene in the movie, was during the final fight- when the pumpkin bomb explodes in Spider-man's face, and you can see his eyes roll back and his mask shreds....thats really awesome.

This would be my best scene as well.

Dang, I agree with everybody here. I picked the transformation scene because there was so much joy expressed and it was really uplifting. But I could just as easily choose any of the other scenes.

I'm sitting here writing this late at night. I'm traveling and I'm in a hotel room and guess what favorite film is playing on the hotel's in-room movie list....

Got to go. Got to go see all those scenes all over again.

I picked the scene in the hospital where he makes his little speech.I thought it was really sweet.A nd i absalooyly love the look on peters and mj's faces when harry walks in.

if i could choose a second,it would be the wrestling matchit was kool.

I loved the 1st scene With JJ Jameson!! it was SO funny!!
The kiss was really great!! (uh oh...girly side showing through....*panics*)
The whole bridge scene was brilliantly done!! (although I actually think it was better in the book...)

The final web-slinging scene was just the best thing ever to hit the cinema tho...IT WAS SO COOL!! I cant believe how much like spidey the poses and swings were, that just gave me goose bumps:):D

Well , i can't believe that no-one has said the "ceiling" scene , with the blood dripping from Spider-man's arm . That is what you call pure tension , whenever anyone watches that scene they do not move or even make a sound , it is awesome .

PS , "uncle ben death" in the poll does include the WHOLE scene. That means the chase and the fight in the warehouse.

My favorite scene?

The beginning of the Unity Festival, when we see that far off figure of the Goblin, a mere black dot, arcing down between the buildings leaving a trail of exhaust.

THATS the scene I ALWAYS wanted in a Spider-Man movie if they ever made it, and, well they did..and it's there.

*Wipes a tear*

"Have you seen my father ?"

"I , uuh , don't think he's coming today........."

Great stuff !

My favorite scene isn't listed:

It's where Peter tells JJJ that what he's saying about Spidey is slander and is informed that no, libel is printed and slander is spoken. Then just as PP is leaving, Goblin crashes in to find out where the photographer is that takes those pictures of Spider-man. JJJ hesitates. He's a newspaper man; he doesn't reveal his sources, so he blusters. Just as Goblin is going to whack him, Spidey makes his appearance (using my favorite spidey position - the hanging web!!).

JJJ is outraged. "I KNEW you were in on this!" he charges. Spidey webs him in the mouth (how humiliating!!! - I just couldn't stop laughing) and says "Let mom and dad talk". Then Goblin sprays that knock out gas, catches him as he drops and flies off with Spidey.

Wonderful.

I also love the scene right after where as Spidey is fighting off the affects of the gas, Goblin is trying to convince him that they should join forces to stop their destructive battling and because people will eventually turn against him.
Spidey looks so helpless; and Goblin's speech actually is appealing and makes sense (in a maniacal sort of way). Anyway I thought these were the best scenes in a great movie.

Oooh, yes, I love this one too. I love the characterization of JJJ in this scene. First we see him as very pragmatic. He doesn't care that Peter's acusing him of "slander," he just cares that Peter gets the term right. LOL! Then how he doesn't give away Peter's name. There is a great nobility in that moment, in JJJ sticking to his ethics as a newspaper man even when his life is at risk. This just adds so much depth to his character beyond "raving boss who hates Spider-Man." He's a jerk, but he's got a basic moral core and I like that.

And yeah, Spidey's arrival and his "let mom and dad talk" quip after webbing JJJ's mouth shut was one of my favorites, too.

Eenie meanie miney moe,
With the Bridge scene I must go.

But there were so many excellent scenes in that flick that I'm going to have to have my own copy of it eventually.

Dude, the absolute best scene is when Peter says, "This is my gift, my curse. Who am I? I'm Spider-Man." and then we see the BEST part of the movie. That webslinging scene rocked!

the whole movie really rocks, an instant classic. well i voted for peter's speech at the hospital cause its the first time he said something to MJ with confidence. besides its also really romantic and not cheesy. runnerup is uncle Ben's death, that's the scene that really put peter on his track on becoming spidey.

Although part of the uncle ben's death scene, I loved when peter took off down the alley and changed to his costume while running and then leaps onto the wall. This is one of the few parts in the movie where I thought the score was perfect for what was happening too. I also loved the part where peter grabs the carjacker after realizing who he is. Tobey caught the hatred and anger peter felt perfectly in his facial expression. It's like he couldn't even say anything so he just lets out a scream (actually more like a roar) and grabs him.
