Spiderman III cast called back for reshoots

Yeah, it sounds like BS. Don't they usually wait for test screenings about 4 months before release? I've never heard them do one a year in advance. Besides, someone from the screening would have leaked a ton of spoilers from the film on the net .

Oh great. Now boards all around are thinking that the movie is a disaster and they are already jumping ships. Damn.

there is no way that this movie will be bad!

thats fake they didnt screen it for test audiences! its far from done.

It's normally that a Movie will have some reshoots.

As Mirko said, they aren't technically "reshoots", likely. They're what filmy people refer to as "pickups", a.k.a. "additional shiznit that we may not have got the first time around on this particular day or set".

...to add to the movie coninuity?Or different versions of certain scenes?

Could be both, actually. Although, according to many of the actors from the commentaries and interviews on films 1 and 2, Raimi is a "take-o-holic".

This is another case of overseas press taking things completely out of context. The MTV article this is talking about said nothing about test audiences, I'm sure these PICKUP shots (not reshoot) were scheduled all along.
It's not just overseas, it received top billing on the IMDb news section:

But yeah, I find it incredibly hard to belive that they'd already put up a rough cut.

Wouldn't these shots extend the CGI process if needed? If so would that delay the release?

They won't delay the release for anything.

Wait, your right, they made bring it earlier though, as Spider-man 2 was supposed to be released after Canada day here, but they made it before and it had huge revenue that way.

Hmm...let me see if i can look it up.

I remember it was a person's blog about Spidey3 coming in September and they were gonna redo their apartment and gave them the option to keep the furniture and stuff they were going to add, sound familiar?

yeah it can't be as a result of test screening audiences. More like studio execs and others heavily involved in producing the film were reviewing the very very very rough cut of dailies and unfinished footage ...as more of an idea of how its come together and what to expect. So the movie was probably put together from beginning to end, and as a result those viewing felt the need for more action. But theres no way they would show this to test audiences yet...especially a movie this big...with so much to be spoiled...and most of the time the big budget movies with special effects usually are completed to some extent with a movie this caliber for test audiences.

reshoots are so common on all sorts of big budget films. usually people want to fix scenes or add something or replace something with something else. they're trying to make the best movie here. these were planned all along becuase they wouldnt have been able to get the cast back for reshoots if it wasnt. plus with 3 villians im sure theres enough action:).

Test Audiences are actually very likely at this point. The movie's MAIN principal photography is already done, and they are probably 1/4 of the way perfecting all the CG shots.

SOOOOO kitties...Yes. A test audience could be used.

If the TA thing is true, wouldn't it be great to get a review?! :D

I agree. The special footage they showed at the Con was rough to say the least and that was only a month ago. They didn't have enough finished product to fill a 2 minute trailer. They still have ALOT of work to do. And to reiterate, reshoots are normal.

Whoever wrote it is bull****ting the reason while trying to knock this movie down. There is no way that a movie like this would have a test screening IN AUGUST for anyone but Sony top brass and even then most of it would look worse than the unfinished CGI at comic con. Trust me, they probably went into the editing room and realized that Harry's character needed to be beefed up both emotionally and physically with his rivalry with Pete. That is more likely than a "test" audience in ****ing August.

C'mon now.
