World Spidey Suits & Suit Creation methods. - Part 1

I would also like the link for the suit. I will give out a free version of my suit if I can see this person's full pattern.

I don't see anywhere where he mentions it being for free. But I will still make a free pattern of the classic suit, and a pattern for eye frames for it.

He says he will release the free print when he finish his pattern and makes a costume with it and finishes.

Ok. Cant wait to see his pattern :) Ill do a free classic pattern when I am done with this one. I don't intend on letting this one out to the public, But I will keep it highly visible on this sight so you guys can see my method and learn with me :)

Please keep on topic. A lot of us here are just in this for cosplay, not vigilantism

So... Muscle toning. Is it too much? I mean I have seen some people doing it and pulling it off, but what do you guys think about it? I think it can look pretty cheesy, but it kills visual fatigue pretty well.

Why do you say that ???
Someone was in this thread being a jerk, but their post was removed by a mod I guess. Wasn't directed at you. Anyways, I will have more pics of the suit up this afternoon. Great progress has been made. I just have to figure out how to situate it on the fabric so I don't get gouged when I send it to get printed. It is a 7 piece suit, and thus, will take up more fabric.

Good, cant wait to see that !!!!

Pattern is almost finished, tell me what you guys think.

Here is a detail of the new red blue gradient that is found several places on the suit

I have added some more shading and toning to the chest

Here is a picture of the back spider. Muscle toning is much more obvious here

And the belt buckle. I may add some foam rubber, covered in printed fabric to the details of the belt

The gloves have a little more detail in the palm than my last suit which had nothing.

Here is an idea of how my seven piece suits will print out.

And thats that. I will post more when the mask pattern is done. Any and all criticism is appreciated.

WOW, this is a Masterpiece, Dude, anyway i think that a red black webbed belt waist stripe Needs to be included on this pattern or, if needed, on a variant pattern of your suit, anyway that belt buckle concept is really cool.
By The Way, Bravo !!
Cant wait to see more !!
:D

I think masterpiece may be an overstatement, but I am definitely proud of it. I don't think I will be adding any more to this belt, as it feels very solid to me right now, and more webbing wouldn't really fit the design as it stands.

However, after this is done, I am going to be recreating a faithful 7 piece Ditko Spidey. That belt might be more your style ;)

I am going to be lightening the blue on the suit quite a bit. It is more of a light teal now. The navy blue really wasn't doing it for me, and felt too menacing. This new lighter scheme really pops, and makes it feel more friendly.

Just finished drawing up my logo. Will upload primary pics soon.

Hi guys! I've been stalking this forum for past few weeks, gathering info and inspiration to start making my own "The Amazing Spider-man" suit. :D
I've started working on it last week and I would like to show how it's going so far (I took photos along the way), so I'll post it here in a few days :)
I'm new here and I have no idea about the forum 'policy' or anything, so if there's an obligatory introduction topic or something please show me, thanks :)

Amazing stuff here, can't wait to start being a part of this!

:spidey:

This was my comic book styled costume for Halloween last year. I only needed help with the sewing, everything else was done by hand by me. The eyes are McFarlane inspired. No unnecessary fancy movie style lenses, just big white eyes.

So, I'll post how it's going so far with my suit, step by step :) Hope it helps someone in the future..

So the first thing I did was order two skin suits from Ebay for about $20, one red and one blue (pm me for more information). I've also made a 'doll' in my size using duct tape and filled it with newspapers (u can google how to make it yourself, there are many ways).

The 'doll' and the two suits, both with detachable heads and hands

Me trying out the blue suit, you can see the zipper on the back.

The 'base' combination, red mask and blue suit as the base for sewing the red parts on, more on that later.

Next, side shot of the mask, fits really nicely. I think that the 'bumps' will not be very noticable once I go over with with the puff paint pattern :)

Here I started to draw the webbing and eyes, which I'll make and glue on later.

After the red marker lines, I drew on thinner black lines, over which the puff paint will go (after the shading, etc.). For now just to have that spidey look :)

Next, the eye frames! I bougt an a4 format linoleum board (12 kuna here in Croatia, which is about $2). It's bendable but not too much, it keeps it's shape and it's easy to cut through using a scalpel or scissors.
Here I've already started cutting it - outside lines with scissors, inside lines with a scalpel, very carefully.

I got an idea to make 'slots' for the eye pattern which I'll make out of a filter/percolator. :)

Here is what it looks like almost finished from that bottom side :)

Next, I started to cut the filter after drawing the eye frames + about 2mm around, where I'll bend the edges to avoid the sharp edges.

Here's what I mean by bending the edges, halfway done on this one :)

After a bit of modification, more bending and cutting it to fit the slot in the frame, I've glued it on.

Here are both frames from the bottom side with glued on filter patterns, and the materials used :D
