Splinter Cell: ConViction

With Johnny Cash playing in the background...****ing awesome trailer.

Yea, Ubisoft has an awesome ad department. Every major title they release has fantastic trailers. No exception here. The Johnny Cash song fits great with the vibe of the trailer.

Gonna give this one a rent. What I'm really waiting for is Red Dead Redemption.

Yea, this game should take me right into Red Dead Redemption and Alan Wake. With the single player, the co-op and the multi player, this will easily hold my attention until those two games.

Hello there!

I've recently made a little trailer for my upcoming tribute video based on Splinter Cell Conviction. I thought i'd share it with you guys

Also, feel free to check out my previous vids on my page.

Thanks!

Cheers for the encouraging comments guys. I really can't wait much longer for this game, and to make the full tribute vid.

You know, as the game launch looms I was thinking, why aren't I more excited? I've played the demo a few times and I just can't get into it. Is it too much of me playing MW2? Is it because it feels new and different? Is it because it's the first time I play Splinter Cell on the 360? Who knows. Hopefully once I have it in my hands I'll fall in love again.

Yea, you are just used to playing the same game over and over and over again, or you are just used to running around pulling the trigger and killing everything on the map using no skill at all. MW2 will do that to ya.

Plus it's first person versus third person. I just now realized the high amount of FPS I've been playing lately.

I played Modern Warfare 2 like, everyday until Mass Effect 2 came out.

Then I played Bioshock 2 after that.

Now I'm playing Battlefield Bad Company 2 everyday, and even had some Perfect Dark XBLA in between.

I'm still hyped for this and Alan Wake. :awesome:

It's just personal preference I suppose. I've played Splinter Cell since the first on the PS2, Sam with a vengeance is something I can't wait to see play out. :word:

I'll have this in my hands later this morning!

Can't play it till Tuesday like everybody else but still.

Played the demo a few times, but like Darth i can't really get into it.

I'll give it a rent at least, see if i can get into it.

Ahhhhh it's my hands!

The wait till Tuesday will kill me:

Conviction is a Splinter Cell game in name more than anything else. You could easily swap Sam Fisher for Jack Bauer or create an all new character and no one would give it a second thought. The gameplay is fast, and Sam has been transformed into the ultimate killer. It's an amazing game, but so different from its predecessors you might not recognize it.

Despite a few questionable level design choices, Splinter Cell Conviction is a great addition to the series. There's no way I could go back to a stealth game as it used to be; I've been converted. The only reason to hesitate and pick this up is if you only care about the single-player story and want nothing to do with anything else Conviction has to offer. If that's the case, then there's not a lot of game to be had. And also, you're nuts. The best parts of Conviction are the experiences you have long after you've left Sam Fisher behind.

9.0 - Presentation
Stylish menus and cool projection technology make for a unique experience. The story is an amalgamation of different seasons of 24, but it's nice to see Sam so angry.

8.5 -Graphics
Nice animations. Gritty but good-looking environments. The framerate occasionally dips, but it's nothing major. 9.0 Sound
Michael Ironside does a great job reprising his role as Sam Fisher. The enemies have some nice quips. Solid musical score.

9.0- Gameplay
Stealth is fast and fun. Mark & Execute is a great addition. The AI is excellent if you play on Realistic difficulty.

8.0 - Lasting Appeal
The single-player and co-op campaigns are short, but there's a lot of other things to do. And you'll probably want to play through everything more than once. 9.3

9.3 - OVERALL

Sounds good. If Conviction ends up being half as good as Chaos Theory, ill probably play through it a million times.

Oh, to anyone who has a mic and is going to want to play the Co-op before they play through the single player story, or is good at not giving away spoilers, let me know. I think im going to play through the Co-Op campaign first, being that its a prologue. Also im going to play it on realistic. If you are interested, just let me know here and ill send you a friend invite thing.
