The Dark Knight Spoilers and Speculation

This whole subplot with the reporter trying to find out Batman's identity kinda annoys me. Is there a need?

Yea, it's exactly what I hoped for. You have to show Gotham reacting to Batman, Bruce's mission was all about creating a symbol and inspiring people. Now we see how they really perceive Batman, and the unintended consequences of his plans. Media interest would be huge, the identity issue is impossible to ignore, wish they'd done more than newspaper headlines in Begins. The vigilantes also fit really nicely into this. It also ties into the way Joker uses broadcasts to terrorize, and sway public opinion against Batman, including his own demands for Batman to reveal himself. He has no power without the mask. For me it's the most satisfying aspect of the sequel, showing the impact the 2 have.

this film get's weirder and weirder by the day- fake Batmen?! This is gonna be more macabre than Batman Returns

Yeah, it does seem darker than Batman Returns.

I am definitely looking forward to this sub-plot

It is so typical of the media that it would obsess over revealing Batman's identity, while doing nothing to expose the crime and corruption that plagues Gotham.

is this thread updateed? last update edit was still done last aug 28th

I'm kind of wondering if Scarecrow's last line in 'Begins' (I'm here to help) will have any merit in the sequel. I love a good follow-up.

Maybe he wasn't going good, but what made him what to help Rachel all of a sudden?
Ugh, that sounds like a soap opera. Still, I'm curious.

You bring a good point here!

Yeah I don't think it was the kind of 'help' Rachael needed :whatever: :cwink: But I do wonder if they'll meet again in this one, they have some history those two.

Except Heath scaring Caine with his Joker.

Bringing it back so people will STOP reviving STORY SO FAR nonsense...

That's right guys, I'm bringing it back

I just read the "The Man Who Laughs." Unless someone has confirmation of some other motive, does anyone think the Hospital attack may be to bust out the nutjobs that are on their way to Arkham to stir up a little mayhem? And wasn't a school bus scene at the hospital explosion

No it is to take hostages... he takes a bus full of hostages after the hospital scene.

Wait a sec, I thought he jacked a bus full of school kids to get away from the Bank?

Apparently he didn't give Gotham Unified School District their bus back after. Or maybe those are kids he takes hostage from the hospital and it had nothing do with the bank? Plenty of scumbag filmmakers like to use sick kids in hospitals to poor saccharine on their work. It'd be refreshing to see the little brats at the mercy of the J Man.

Hahaha, you're sick.

Do we know they're hostages or assuming?

It's really just speculation, since I personally wasn't at the filming, but it was reported by our scooper here who was an extra that he takes patients hostage when he leaves the hospital. The scooper provided tons of pics during the Chicago filming and has been accurate on everything so far.
