The Dark Knight Spoilers and Speculation

seriously there were about 6 of us who insisted it was a body and everyone else said it was supposed to be a dummy..

Of course it really is dummy, not a real person Nolan is hanging from a noose, but in the film it has to be a real person that is hanged not an effigy. It it was an effigy then whichever villain did the hanging would have made him look more like the real Batman.

The guy hanging from the noose is wearing the crude fake Batman suits complete with baseball catcher's chest protector that we saw in the leaked photos in the parking garage scene.

Seriously me and turtle could have used you two back in the great noose debate of '07 - cause no one believed us.

Got a question about Scarecrow, he's in it for sure right? Do we know if he's supposed to team with Joker or gets into a scrap and dies by him? Or both?

I'm willing to bet the guy hanging is the fake Batman Joker or Scarecrow had captured and yelled "LOOK AT ME" to in the sides.

He is in the beginning with Batman during the car garage scene... he appears to get captured, but that is NOT certain.

There is nothing else known about his role in the film, but it's not likely to extend too much if any beyond that opening since they gave us an idea of his screen time and it's less than the last film.

What? You mean Joker, Scarecrow and Two Face aren't going to conspire together in a hokey plot kidnapping Mary Jane to lure out Batman? And then after a heart-to-heart Two Face finds the true meaning of friendship and helps Bats save the day?

I wonder if the Joker is telling batman "Starting tonight...People Will Die" and the Batman "manages" to get the "info" from The Joker, and in turn tells Batman that he set up a bomb of some sort in Tokyo and that's why Batman is in Tokyo...But then again, I did just hear that The whole Tokyo part has been cut. But still and interesting thought, no?

Not sure what you are getting at.. but we were under the impression Batman was in HONG KONG because of a lawyer named Lau.. who has already been arrested in the US by Harvey Dent and they are getting his client list, while Batman is investigating issues further in Hong Kong itself....

I make the connection with the tid-bit that gotham goes into a white night...and with some in the thoughts that the white night is in ref. to police riots I would assume that they do this when many fake batmen come out of the woodwork to commit crimes sending the police into a frenzy...and all this would be when bats is in HK. because the joker pulls a lex luthor and that is in ref. to the "greater" SR plot, in which Lex sets up the idea that Krypton is still kickin' it. and supes goes to check it out and thus lex is released. hazy. but i think it wraps up nice

The white night in the movie is NOT in reference to police riots, it deals with a vigil where the city stays open 24 hour to honor some of the dead and try and end the violence.... NOTHING to do with the things you are saying.

And bats goes to HK very early on in the film and its a very minor segment dealing with the accountant Lau...

Where do you get your information???

First I am a clearvoyant and i get my intel from the dead.

Second, BOF

Now that I've gotten someone to translate the nonsense of everything you've typed I can see one tidbit of information that came from BOF... the rest seems like wild googling that resulted in not thinking.

true true

Man, is it just me or is there A TON OF CRAP happening in this movie? Too much for me to keep straight, with what we know... so far, I've got:

-Scarecrow scene with fake Batmen and possibly dogs?
-Bank robbery/hostage situation
-Joker arrest/bomb escape
-Joker threatening to kill Gotham elite (hopefully with Joker venom)
-Joker crashing Bruce's party and possibly kidnapping Dawes, while Harvey dresses like Batman somehow
-Joker killing fake Batman and hanging him from a building
-Hospital Explosion
-Blowing up a mall maybe?
-Gordon's fake death
-Barge ending

... and that's mostly Joker stuff. We still have to deal with the whole Maroni subplot, Two-Face at the end, the whole Hong Kong thing, whoever the hell Anthony Michael Hall is and how he factors in... this looks like a three hour movie to me.

We know most of those things you said we still have to deal with.

Anthony Michael Hall is Mike Engel, he appears in the sides, he is a tv and radio host in gotham obsessed with bruce wayne and is going to have Reese reveal Bats idenity on his show... beyond that though is speculation, 'cause we've been told that Joker doesnt want attention stolen from him and he creates another bomb scares and then that leads to the ferry dilema.

But yeah a lot is happening, but some is more related than we are letting on.

I think that the bank robbery and hostage situation are two separate occurances. The hostage scene has something to do with the hospital explosion. Theres also Loeb's death, themurder attempt of the mayor, Reese and the break in at Wayne Enterprises, the gang warfares involving Maroni, Gamble's gang and probably some others.

do u think Gordon faking his death will be like Dent faking his in LH

Yeah, I was just mentioning all the other subplots in addition to all the Joker stuff I mentioned. But yeah, I'm sure everything will fit into place nicely once we get the big picture.
