Spring Cleaning

All of your titles ought to be underlined, and it's driving the grammar-Nazi inside of me crazy.

The Godfather.

Easy Rider.

Goodfellas.

Dr. Stranglove, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Start Loving The Bomb.

Is that enough titles for ya?

Well, technically it's my MLA-themed grammar-Nazi. My normal grammar-Nazi is fine, reading his pro-punctuation pamphlets, though.

No, I just love quoting Family Guy.

I'm currently reading what happened with the OU Deadpool situation. Most entertaining.

A N00Bs Thoughts
The Sexy-Time Edition

Hey ho! I know none of you care. But boredom and a need to attain avatar status made me decide to write down my thoughts on my first couple months of being a Hype RPGer.

So... without further ado...

The Games
- I've been writing in competitive wrestling role-plays since 2004. The very first thing i ever learned doing that was that politics and who you get along with are more important than writing skill. After four years of frustration and the constant feeling of being held back for not getting along with right people led me to quit the game completely.

Then Keyser started telling me of a game he plays where he could role-play, and not be competitive, not have to write 3,000 (the usual standard word count per RP in the E-Fed) words epic stories every week. So I had a mooch and enjoyed what I saw. However, being a complete newb to this style of role-play i was quite apprehensive to sign up.

But, I'm really glad i did. The games feel so much more relaxed and fluid to what I'm used to. The theme is refreshing and full of possibility and I'm constantly excited to read everyone's work.

The Players - Perhaps the best thing about the Hype RPGs for me is the people. I'm so used to back-stabbers and politicians working themselves and the game for their own benefits and to shut out players they don't like. So to see such a tight-knit, close community was really good. I've been made to feel welcome, included and part of the family and i appreciate that.

I have to LOL because when i first signed up, i thought some people were trying to pick fault with my initial apps and posts because i was so used to people having a negative attitude in RPG games. Obviously now, i see that those comments were to help rather than hinder and it took a good couple of weeks to overcome my paranoia. I don't think there's anyone i don't like or feel i can't get on with around here... and both Electro_UK and Red_X have been cool additions to my MSN list :D

Anyway, i'm proper excited to start a new RPG year with you folks and i reckon that i'll be enjoying many years to come...

Cheers folks! Here's to ya!

Funny how I was talking to Harl about this a few days ago and how I was debating about posting it...

I've felt lately like since obtaining AGM abilities in the DC RPG, that people seem to have this idea of me going on a huge ego-trip and powerhungry frenzy just because I'm extremely active. But that is just it: I was super active pre-AGMship...so obviously that would not change.

I've just felt that with some comments (some out of anger so who knows how much they believe it, and some not out of anger) certain people have thrown at me--people I would never expect them from--that I was somehow in the wrong, which isn't right. DC has always been my favorite RPG and I just strive to make it the best one here.

As I said, been talking to Harl about this lately...and at one point was thinking of dropping out of the hype because of it. I just couldn't understand anyone's negative attitudes to a AGM just fulfilling their duties actively.

And regardless of that? I always try to not let the small things people do (that I dislike) get in the way of how I treat them or feel about them, and I feel like I'm the only one sometimes who thinks that. Who knows, maybe it is just the "good Catholic boy" within me. I could be a big jerk on this forum if I let every small thing get to me, so I try to avoid it. I just couldn't understand why others do not do the same from time to time...

I wasn't aware of any actual resentment towards you trusty, and I don't get why people would try to crap over the fantastic work you've been doing. Between the impressive roster designs and your insane activity in the AGM role, you're one of the most dedicated posters here.

Like you said, trusty, we talked about this, and regardless of our arguments over the wiki, I still think you're the man.

The only thing different between nonAGM-trusty and AGM-trusty is that you keep track of the two week rule now. I'm all for that. And since byrd is the one who wants that enforced because he's GM, it's all on him (the nazi bastard).

I'm glad you keep track of it, and I've only seen it as good for the game because people are now dropping or posting as characters rather than just hanging on to them. That success is why I started doing it in OU, and it's had some success there as well.

We don't hate you because you're powerhungry. We hate you because you're an anal retentive *******! :cmad:

Is it time for the airing of greivances?

That means the Feats of Strength are up next!

Anyway, I don't really have a whole lot to complain about. It was kinda nagging at me how the Dark Alliance arc in DC revolved almost entirely around 1 or 2 people for the first major bits of it, but that seems to have more or less resolved itself now that everyone else is getting in on it. So.....yeah, I'm pretty much good now.

You know what would be good? If your lazy ass actually posted in G&M. :cmad:

You got something you want to say, asswipe? :cmad:

Not lazy. Absent-minded. But yeah, I'll get a post up soon (i.e. when I'm not at work)

Nothing I haven't already told ya in IMs.

You know who sucks?

That Master Bruce guy.

REMOVE HIM! :cmad:

I HATE THAT KEYSER GUY...

Y'all know he watches Desperate Housewives right? The sick freak...

REMOVE HIM! :cmad:

Removing is too good for him though. I say we crucify him first, then burn him at the stake, then tar and feather him, then drown him in a river inside a sack of rabid badgers, and then we remove him from the boards.

You might want to fix the order of a few of those. You can't drown ashes. ;) :o
