That's a very good point! When I saw the Square Enix stream on Mix, during the chat I actually saw someone asking why Iron Man is in this, another asking if this takes place before or after Endgame and another even saying that movie based games usually suck.

I thought they were just joking and maybe they were but you mentioned people like that and I wonder.

True, yeah, I don't want anyone thinking I was hoping to dislike this trailer, I desperately wanted to love this game, been hoping for a AAA Avengers game for years, hell I made the "Where are all the Marvel Games" thread.
But the trailer just didn't do anything for me. Not like Spidey's trailer did, that game looked amazing immediately, even if you didn't love the white spider costume. But this just looked weak.
I'm very glad to hear the gameplay is strong tho.

The thing that gets me is that we've seen maybe 5 seconds of gameplay flashed through the trailer. It's the gameplay that I am interested in the most. Considering that you'll be able to fully customize the characters looks, I'm not worried about that at all. I want to see gameplay ASAP.

You know, I keep complaining about the suits and that the game designers need to be replaced, when these ugly designs were probably a deliberate design decision. The game needs to be monetized somehow after all. People will probably be easier swayed to buy skins, just to get rid of the default ones. And you know what? Crystal Dynamics won. If there's like an Endgame skin pack, or just a general MCU pack, I'll buy it.

I'll be buying them packs with a grin. Marvel Heroes Omega got me good with their packs! The moment I saw 90's Cyclops skin and comic classics for Wolverine...I paid up

I wonder how customizations will work exactly. Especially when it comes to Ironman. Will different pieces unlock different abilities, or is he just gonna have a massive skill tree, that allows you to adjust the way you want to play Ironman, and skins are literally just cosmetic.

Ironman obviously has a ton of different armors in the comics and movies. And sometimes specific suits have specific abilities. It would be great if you could get a nano suit like in Infinity War, that comes with all the crazy abilities that his standard suit wouldn't have.

So they will definitely have microtransactions. They said they wont have loot boxes, but they confirmed that mocrotranasctions are definitely coming.

During the Square Enix presentation for Marvel's Avengers at E3 2019, it was said the game won’t have loot boxes or ways to pay to win, but you’ll notice they didn’t say there wouldn’t be microtransactions. IGN talked to the game developers about it and they confirmed that Marvel’s Avengers will indeed have microtransactions.

So I saw that bit of leaked gameplay. And even though it was terribly shot from what I'm sure is a phone, it's actually looking pretty good. Black Widow looks especially fun to play and I was not expecting that. After that, I'm hyped to see what they officially reveal later.

I am wondering about combos and double team moves. This is an Avengers game so it would be disappointing if the entire campaign is you soloing one hero in every mission while saving the team stuff for the online co-op.

Well, remember that in the main story solo campaign you'll be switching from one character to the next and so on depending on when their specific skill is needed. Or, rather, that's what we've seen so far. So who knows if co-op moments between the characters will be woven into the gameplay. But, if I had to fathom a guess, it would be yes.

Except in Spider-Man, the new suit upgrades services the story after the original one was damaged in battle. We started the game with the classic traditional red and blue suit. Peter made upgrades with some designs input from [blackout]Dr. Otto Octavious[/blackout].

The Avengers look like they start with those costumes and might upgrade through out the course of the game.

Plus, they're disbanding and killing off one of them fairly early on story-wise.

I'm overall optimistic. Though I have concerns just how they will monetise the game post-launch with all these "free updates". The game looks good too apart from Cap's suit sucks and Black Widow's weird face.

There's no doubt microtransactions will be in. I would be shocked if not any but characters and map locations will be free. There's also no loot boxes nor pay 2 win, which means cosmetic transactions and dlc packs for story expansions
