One of the things that people didn't like about the new designs of the characters in the upcoming Marvel's Avengers was the fact that some of the Avengers — specifically Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor — looked a bit off, which is probably due to the fact that they are used to seeing their movie counterparts.

Last month some leaked images for Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics' upcoming action game, based on Marvel's popular Avengers series, gave us a good look at some skins for some of the members of the team; truth be told, the skins looked a lot better than the game's main designs.

Recently, some more images of some alternate skins for Marvel's Avengers have leaked, which give us a look at a new armor for Iron Man, what seems to be a recolor of the previously leaked Captain America alternate skin, and a picture that does a side comparison of the Joe Fixit skin for the Hulk next to the comicbook version of Joe Fixit.

Take a look:

Marvel’s Avengers begins at A-Day, where Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Widow, and Thor are unveiling a hi-tech Avengers Headquarters in San Francisco — including the reveal of their own helicarrier powered by an experimental energy source. The celebration turns deadly when a catastrophic accident results in massive devastation. Blamed for the tragedy, the Avengers disband. Five years later, with all Super Heroes outlawed and the world in peril, the only hope is to reassemble Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

Marvel's The Avengers will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia on the 15th of May in 2020.

The gameplay combat for Cap, Thor and Hulk we’re awesome. Widow needs a little more stylish combat and Iron Man needs better flight capabilities

Black Widow and Cap seem alright but Hulk, Iron Man and Thor are awesome to me with Hulk being the best then Iron Man

So IGN confirmed that the Taskmaster in this game is not the same one that is in Spidey PS4.

Now the games could still be connected but we’ll see. As much as I think a Marvel shared gaming universe would be kinda cool I’m not going to complain if this is set in its own universe.

The Taskmaster in Marvel’s Avengers is confirmed to not be the same Taskmaster from Marvel’s Spider-Man on PS4.

53 New Marvel's Avengers Details: Gameplay, Characters, Gear and More - Gamescom 2019 - IGN

Yep. You could just click on the link and read them. I was just posting a little bit of information of if links up with Spidey PS4.

I did but just thought it was funny and interesting that caught your eye the most. I don't care if it's the same universe or not though so I guess it's just like whatever to me

They'll all be free. I like Cap's default suit now with the new lighting

It's nice they lightened the blue, but he still looks like one of those "Real Life Superheroes" in their cheap outfits
and Thor, somehow, looks worse than before

All new 53 details..
Marvel’s Avengers Characters and Story
avengies222-720x405.jpg

  1. This is an original, never before told story about The Avengers
  2. Thor initially begins in Midgard after the devastating events that transpired. Black Widow reverts to working by herself.
  3. Hulk is upset at the circumstances and does not want to turn back into Bruce Banner, remaining in his Hulk form.
  4. Although Captain America seemingly dies at the end of the prologue, we can confirm he does return later in the game as a playable character.
  5. One of the game’s main villains is A.I.M. (Advanced Idea Mechanics), a sinister organization comprised of supervillains and scientists that appeared in the comics during the 1960s. The current head of A.I.M. is MODOK, most recently seen as a boss in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 on Nintendo Switch, but it’s unconfirmed whether or not he will be appearing in Marvel’s Avengers.
  6. Taskmaster is the first boss in the game and must be defeated by Black Widow.
  7. Black Widow can turn invisible with a special ability.
  8. The Taskmaster in Marvel’s Avengers is confirmed to not be the same Taskmaster from Marvel’s Spider-Man on PS4.
  9. New stories will be told post-launch as different characters are added.
  10. Square-Enix is working closely with Marvel to ensure that everything feels authentic, while also being given a bit of creative freedom to expand the universe and build upon its rich history.
  11. The game will continue to expand for “years to come.”

Marvel’s Avengers Single-player Gameplay and Missions

Marvel's Avengers Prologue PS4 Gameplay Trailer in 4K

  1. The game is being referred to as an “expansive world,” not an “open world.”
  2. You’ll select missions from an overworld map, known as the “War Table,” which contains both single-player and multiplayer missions.
  3. As you progress through the game, different regions will open up all over the globe that you can travel to.
  4. Single-player missions are known as “Hero Missions” and will deliver the majority of the overall narrative of Marvel’s Avengers.
  5. During Hero Missions, you’ll play as individual heroes while learning more about their unique backstories.
  6. Even though you only control a single character during Hero Missions, you’ll still be interacting with other heroes in different ways.
  7. Depending on the gear you have equipped, you may be able to access otherwise inaccessible areas.
  8. “War Zone Missions” are playable as a single-player, or with up to four players in online co-op.
  9. Both Hero Missions and War Zone Missions will advance the overall narrative.
  10. Both types of missions feature a difficulty scale.
  11. Once you unlock certain characters in the main campaign, specific War Zone Missions will be unlocked just for them.

Marvel’s Avengers Multiplayer Gameplay and Missions
  1. When playing cooperatively with other players, War Zone Missions will scale dynamically, so you can play together regardless of what level each of your heroes is at.
  2. Co-op and matchmaking details will be made available early next year.

Marvel’s Avengers Combat, Skills, and Moves
  1. The game’s tutorial introduces you to each of the main characters, as well as familiarizing you with their unique abilities.
  2. Each hero features a light and a heavy melee attack that can be used in combat.
  3. Heroes also feature their signature abilities: Iron Man’s repulsor beams, Hulk’s smash, Black Widow’s dual pistols, etc.)
  4. Every hero also has access to a special ‘heroic attack,’ an extremely powerful ability that has a cooldown meter.
  5. Heroes will have access to individual skill trees - allowing you to build your hero the way you want.
  6. Thor can be played using more of his lightning and flying abilities, or can be built as a higher-HP, tanky-er character.
  7. Similarly, Iron Man is separated into Melee, Repulsor, Laser, and Rockets.
  8. Unlocked skills can be swapped mid-game by toggling them on the D-pad.
  9. Players can earn experience points during combat.
  10. Experience points are displayed in the bottom left corner when earned, and contribute to your character’s overall level.

Marvel’s Avengers Cosmetics, DLC, and Microtransactions
avengiees3333-720x405.jpg

  1. Square-Enix confirmed that cosmetic items can be obtained throughout the story.
  2. Cosmetics are a way to visually represent how the different characters are growing and evolving with the story.
  3. Cosmetics will also be available to purchase from the in-game marketplace.
  4. None of these cosmetic items affect gameplay.
  5. Marvel’s vast 80-year history will be explored through cosmetic items.
  6. Cosmetics will feature both original pieces and fan-favorites.
  7. There is a “haggard-looking” Tony Stark
  8. Regions and heroes will be added post-launch at no additional charge.
  9. New War Zone Missions will be included as part of post-launch DLC at no additional charge, as well.
  10. Story beats will be included in this DLC to further the narrative for certain characters.

Marvel’s Avengers Gear
  1. As you play through missions, you’ll gain access to different gear, separated by the traditional categories we’ve come to expect throughout modern games.
  2. There is also a secret ‘beyond legendary’ tier of items that can be obtained.
  3. Gear is unique to each character.
  4. There is also branded gear, like a Stark Industries set of specific items.
  5. The gear you equip on your heroes affects the way they play, with different items offering synergies when equipped with others.
  6. Each gear item also features perks, depending on rarity.
  7. Higher-rarity gear can feature multiple perks.

Too short but a nice little glimpse with a mini bio. Could be a cool collection after all character vids are released

The changes to Black Widow's face making it look less square has improved her appearance tenfold, however the rest of them look just as bad in my opinion.

Black Widow & Hulk look fine, Iron Man/Tony Stark is borderline as is probably Banner, Cap & in particular Thor are a complete mess visually still I think from their suits to their actual physical appearance.. Thor's voice as well is OTT.

I think I preferred the previous Black Widow. She kinda looked like Scully from the X-Files. The new Black Widow looks like "angry PS3-era render woman."

The combat and gameplay seems a little too much "you play as this person and then now you play as this person" and so fourth. Where is the team aspect? Isn't this supposed to be a superhero TEAM?

That was just the introduction mission. After that , you may not be forced to switch characters much. There are missions that focuses on one character as well

I'd love it if the game let me switch characters seamlessly, and do double team moves (like the duel play feature in Arkham Knight).

The level design seems to echo Fall of Cybertron, in that most of the levels will be built for specific heroes, and not generic. Which is unfortunate.
